  1. +1 You're absolutely right. Part of the reason the Bills became successful was high draft picks for a few years back in the 80's, such as #1 in 1985 when the Bills drafted arguably the best DE in NFL history, Bruce Smith. The Bills need to do what the Sabres did, trade off assets for high draft picks, tank for two to three years so they can get Top 3 picks in the draft and draft a franchise QB.
  2. I remember the mantra that Marrone was known for changing teams from losing to winning cultures, but he only had a .500 winning percentage. When someone rants and raves that they're going to leave no stone unturned, that should mean not settling on the first good thing you think you found.
  3. I remember when Russ was named the CEO of the Bills right after Chan Gailey was fired. Russ ranted and raved about how the Bills brand was tarnished and he would leave "no stone unturned" in finding the new head coach, only to settle on his third interview [Marrone]. Yeah, that's leaving "no stone unturned," only interviewing three guys? Marrone, the only good things he did was hire two good DC's, Pettine and Schwartz.
  4. Ralph's meddling caused Chuck Knox to leave, Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in the playoffs and caused John Butler to leave. Ralph had trust issues and he trusted the wrong people over the final 15 years he owned the team. You're right about Russ.
  5. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2016/9/19/12968536/buffalo-bills-pegula-rex-ryan-greg-roman-column In light of last week's events where Bills owners, Terry and Kim Pegula, met with Bills players to discuss what is wrong with the team without meeting with HC Rex Ryan, are they being too much "hands-on" with the team? While it's great that they are not just sitting around and hoping things get better, they are being proactive, but at the same time, the Pegula's do not have professional football experience such as a GM or coach would have. What also comes to mind is the Pegula's involvement in hiring Rex Ryan. It seems the decision to hire Rex was the Pegula's, shouldn't that have been the decision of the GM [Whaley]? I feel a big reason why the Bills never won a Superbowl and weren't more successful was due to Ralph Wilson being a meddling owner. Are we going to have to go through growing pains with the Pegula's while they and figure out how to run a successful football organization?
  6. Marty Schottenheimer. He's been a winner everywhere he's been. Unfortunately, he didn't get the same amount of time with one team as Cowher did, otherwise, he probably would have won the Superbowl with one of the teams he coached.
  7. Now that Roman is fired, it's time to start the Tank job. Fire Whaley and Rex, hire a legitimate football expert to run football operations, start trading older players for draft picks and rebuild this team the right way. Time to go 2-14 for a few years (like back in the 80's) so the Bills can get the top talent from the draft. Finishing between 6-10 and 9-7 has been getting the Bills between 8-19 in the draft order and it hasn't made a difference in 16 years. Time to go belly up!
  8. This season is going south in a hurry. Normally, the Bills haven't been eliminated from the playoffs until November/December, but it looks like it could be much sooner than that. Especially the way the defense played last night.
  9. You're absolutely right. The Bills can't afford to draft a Sam Bradford or Ryan Tannehill type. They need to be able to draft someone with the same caliber as Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Newton or Luck.
  10. I agree 100% The Pegula's need to hire a "football czar" to be able to steer the organization in the right direction.
  11. Did Gilmore suck tonight? YES!!!
  12. Let's face it, the Bills will not ever be a winning team without a real franchise QB. They haven't been fortunate enough to luck into a great one. With finishing between 6-10 and 9-7, the Bills are too high on the draft board to pick a franchise QB. They need to start over, Tank like the Sabres and have two to three drafts where they are picking in the Top 5 to get some elite players.
  13. Congrats on the win Jimmy. Your top four WR's looked great tonight. The Bills need to follow that blueprint and have more than just one good WR.
  14. Glad I cancelled NFL Sunday ticket
  15. That's cool! I'm also going to the Rock Allegiance festival on Sunday.
  16. At least I'll be entertained tomorrow at The Offspring concert!
  17. The Bills need to quit giving contract extensions to QB's prematurely
  18. Terry, please follow your blueprint with the Sabres and start tanking!!
  19. The QB search continues... Same with the playoff drought
  20. In the words of Ron Simmons "DAMN!"
  21. Looks like the Bills will start the season 0-4
  22. Fitz has been playing too well. It's about time for him to throw an INT.
