  1. Scanning through the donors, I notice there are lots of fans of other teams...Cowboys, Lions, etc. How about Janice Torbet, who gave $100: "From the Raider Nation, to one of the Bills who whopped us so badly in the Jan. 20, 1991 AFC title game." Or Paul Richardson, who also gave $100: "As an Oiler fan I hated the Bills, for obvious reasons, but I respected the hell out of every player. Especially the heart and soul of their defense. Good luck Darryl, don't give up!" I also see a lot of comments from folks who don't remember, or were too young to have watched Talley, on how the NFL needs to step up and do more. If nothing else, this is raising some badly needed awareness like few other stories have. Maybe because there's still hope for intervention and not a suicide, after the fact. Some notable donors (real or not): Takeo Spikes $500 London Fletcher 1000 Peter King 250 Ryan Miller 100 Mike Williams?? 100 And many anonymous $500 & $1000 donors. Got to be quite a few current and former players in that bunch!
  2. It's just so great that the nation now gets to see such a positive story about our team and region after the endless snowtorm coverage.
  3. Incredible and inspiring. No telling just how far this will run.
  4. Some of my best memories in 25 years as a season ticket holder are the "bad" weather games, e.g., Raiders, Jets. I'd feel sorry for a young Bills fan who never got to experience that. Then again, I enjoy sitting motionless in tree stands for much of the fall, so I may not speak for everybody.
  5. I spent the day in Kiko's Kitchen yesterday, helping him prepare food for the stranded and homeless. I was worried at first because there were only 5 cans of Campbell's Chunky soup in the place, but...Kiko spread his arms wide, there was a clap of thunder and, somehow...miraculously...there was dip for 5000!
  6. What kind of a crowd can they possibly have? It will be worse than a Toronto game.
  7. Rather than credit for next year, how about buy me a round trip ticket to Detroit?
  8. He was Thurman's hero, of course...took number 34 because of him.
  9. Touchdown should be overturned...right???????
  10. Would have been called on us...
  11. "The way Orton sees it, after all of the tangled tests of his career, what is left of it is too short and too important to waste on dallying. He is direct and he is blunt in his goals and play on and off the field." I like this line. Brings to mind his blunt answer to Sully about the "crap question" he asked him. I think he knows he hopped aboard the Bills bus just as the ol' karmic wheel was finally starting to turn upwards, and he intends to make the most of the opportunity. Let's hope he can help write one of the best stories in the NFL over the next few years.
  12. I'm just glad I have a big game to look forward to watching on the Bills by week... Trample 'em, Broncos! Omaha!
  13. That's nothing...in NJ yesterday an entire NFL team disappeared.
  14. My name is Manning, Quarterback of Broncos: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!
  15. Agreed, and well said...huge game. This has been the point in many past seasons when the Bills begin to unravel, losing a majority of their middle schedule and making the playoffs dependent on increasingly improbable scenarios. Injuries have often figured into this, and we now have those visiting us again. This is the time when our roster depth and ability to adapt will be tested, along with that "mental toughness" that has too often been in short supply. So we'll see which team shows up in NY tomorrow. Going into the by 5-3, on a winning note, would be a major confidence booster and give more breathing room for making the playoffs later. No moral victories tomorrow, we badly need a W. A real playoff team should be able to pull that off against the Jets.
  16. The opener was a disaster...took 45 minutes to get through the gates. Now it's great, only takes 5 minutes to get through! Don't know what they did, but it's much faster now than last year. In the negative column, the new food just sucks. I would spend good money if they would only offer something worth eating. Oh, and the seat cushion I paid $50 for gets water inside and my butt gets wet when I sit on it. That said, keep winning games and I don't much care about any of the above!
  17. Well, yes, Marrone may believe in him, but Eric is also a man respected by his peers.
  18. Just give it to us.
  19. "Right guard Erik Pears (6-8, 305) is a mobile mauler. He plays with quickness, balance, and strength." Who knew?
  20. Is getting some space the same as getting up a head of steam? Because I think Hughes could do great things if he could get up a head of steam. Line him up 5 yards further back if that will do it.
