I'll go on record now...I'd take 0-16 to 2-14 if Manziel, Bridgewater, or McCarron was on the other end... I know some folks don't like one or two of those three...But I like all of them...And I would be AOK with any one of the three...

Exactly... I keep reading that Fitz was not the biggest problem, and the Defense was worse, or he had inferior targets, blah, blah, blah...How about they all sucked-out-loud? The QB situation gets more attention, as well it should, due to the importance of having a really good one...But saying QB is The Bills biggest need does not mean we don't need serious help on Defense, or at WR as well...Everyone knows that...

I agree with this take... Too bad Metz had to bring up the whole call-return stuff...It left the door open for folks to paint his comments as anything other than the obvious truth... On the other hand here is a long-time Bills player and ex-Coach who put in a call...Marrone owes Metz nothing, but he could have done the classy thing and called the guy back...

Trade draft picks for next year picks.

Oh good grief where to start... You do realize that Manziel, as a redshirt Freshman nonetheless, averaged 33.4 pass attempts per game last year. Right? And he completed 68% of those passes...Sure he'll take off and run a lot...But to say he's only a run 1st QB is WAY off...He can do both...And he can do both VERY well...Manziel is an incredible passer considering it was his 1st year as a starter...If he continues to improve in that area the kid will be the next Montana...He has that kind of potential... -
Who Metz? Really? Look...It may not be politically correct for him to tell the truth after being let go...But that's all he did...The Metz I met and spoke with twice was certainly not an a-hole...Not at all...
-
Right because Metz's comments have no basis in fact... Have you actually watched the Bills, and Fitz, over the past three years? Or are you just trolling?
-
It's not just about a championed opinion...It's about what many of us have seen with our own two eyes...Having the opinion that the QB with the most turnovers in the NFL over the past three years is simply not good enough should not need to be championed...it should be obvious to any Bills fan he's not good enough...No matter who expresses that opinion... To me it's an easy assessment that Metz is simply telling the truth...I've met Metz and talked to him at length on two occasions in Charlotte NC...I don't see him as being the ax-grinding-type of guy whatsoever...I've also watched the turnover-machine known as Ryan Fitzpatrick for three years...I really don't understand why anyone who has watched the Bills over the past three years would think these comments are anything more than (maybe) an overly-honest-obviously-correct opinion...

Hoping our 2013 draft turns out this way...

No QB till the 5th Round huh? And Milliner will go before #8...He's the #1 CB in this Draft... -
What are you "reading" into the current changes?

It is amazing to me that Kelsay is still around...I can't imagine a scenario where he would return...But what is the wait all about? I don't get it... -
The arguement for taking a QB in Rd. 1

That contract of Fitzpatrick's is killing us.

Compared to Fitz the turnover machine, Kelsay and Smith are bargains... But Kelsay and Fitz especially are just bad deals... -

I hear you...And maybe it's just me...But honestly I could really care less what Sully's opinion is, or what anybody says about Sully one way or the other...It bores me...He's really kind of irrelevant ..Not to say that I don't enjoy some of his takes every now and again...But in the grand scheme of thing who cares? -
That contract of Fitzpatrick's is killing us.
KOKBILLS replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya... I'm just wondering at this point who the fug cares what Sullivan thought the Bills should do with Fitz...OK he was wrong...He's wrong, and right, about a lot of things...It's his job to have an opinion on everything the Bills do, or should do, or will do...Whatever...But is it not a LOT more important that the Bills, and specifically Nix, were wrong? -
That contract of Fitzpatrick's is killing us.

Seriously...I'm neutral on Sullivan...But who the freak cares what he wrote? -
I'm still hoping the Bills bail out of #8...I think there should be interest in that pick, and not a ton of difference between the player you're going to get from 8-20...Especially if The Bills are determined to take a QB in the 1st... If they stay at #8, which of course WILL happen if Buddy is still in charge, I fully expect Joeckel, G. Smith, Milliner, Werner, and Fisher to be gone...Not sure who the next 2 are yet...The possible names I like at #8 are Lane Johnson, and Dion Jordan...But should The Bills take a flyer on a QB at #8, I'm OK with it...I think that is priority #1...

Well...Burfict and Mingo are two completely different situations...Mingo is seen by some (media guys) as a bit of a tweener-underachiver based on what most think will be very good measurables...Burfict ran real slow at Indy, played terrible at times in College, and had all kinds of issues over his head...

Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with Bills

67 Turnovers in 3 years (Ints + fumbles lost)...67! How is it even possible that any Bills fan could want this guy back? -
Will Bills have a poor record in 2013 ?
KOKBILLS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yawn... Ryan Fitzpatrick IS as bad as people on this board think he is...As a matter of fact there is a good chance he's worse and that Gailey got all he could out of him...Some of us around here were adamant 3 years ago that he was never going to be good enough, yet we're still having this discussion?... And Defense still wins Championships huh? Not if you don't have an excellent QB it doesn't...Of course The Bills need to get better on Defense...You will not find one single Bills fan that disagrees with that general statement...But the fastest road to improvement for this team is to improve the QB situation over Fitz who ranked 27th in Total QB Rating last year...No one said it's going to be easy to find a great QB...But to find one that is better than Fitz is not going to be all that difficult either... You do realize that over the past 3 years, INT's and lost fumbles combined, Fitz is #1 in the NFL in turnovers...#1...He had 67 combined turnovers...54 INT's and 23 Fumbles (13 lost) in that span...So...considering we all know that QB is the most important position on any NFL team...And considering the Bills have the #1 turnover machine over a three year span as their starting QB...You're saying that QB is not the #1 need on this team?...OK... -
There is a lot about Bray to like...And a lot to worry about as well...One of the things that was never questioned about Flacco was his determination to be as good as he can possibly be...It helped him get Drafted higher than a lot of scouts thought he would directly after his Sr year... I will say this...Of all the QB tape I've watched so far (and I have watched a bit) it seemed to me that Bray had more on-the-money dropped balls than the rest...I could certainly be wrong about that...I was not actually counting...But it just seemed to me that those ultra-talented Tennessee WR's dropped a ton of catch-able balls...

Will Bills have a poor record in 2013 ?
KOKBILLS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No...That's not my logic at all...But thanks for telling me what I'm thinking... My logic is simple...1st...The conversation started with the premise that The Bills go 0-16 in 2013...So I'm assuming, if that were to happen, they still have major QB problems going in to the 2014 Draft...So in this hypothetical situation The Bills still need a Franchise caliber QB, and they better plan on continuing to try to get one...And in a Draft like 2014 should be (I said should not will), one of those-type QB's figures to be available at #1 overall...And honestly I don't care if Clowney is the next Bruce (which...at this point lets face it, anyone can doubt he will be)...I'd still take a true Franchise QB prospect for this organization, at this hypothetical time of history, over the DE... The 1st QB taken in 85 was Bernie Kosar...At #29 Overall...It was a completely different-type Draft...There is a very good chance that 2 out of those 3 QB's (Manziel, McCarron, and Bridgewater) will be rated in the Top 5 in 2014...And look, I like Clowney...Who wouldn't? But comparing him to Bruce at this point?...And putting a Colt McCoy comparison in the same sentence as Manziel is making me question why I'm even arguing this point with you...Come on...Be serious...You have actually seen Manziel play right? And McCarron can stay with Mrs Alabama? That's a decent football point...What exactly is it about McCarron's play, and leadership, that you don't like for The Buffalo Bills? Are you kidding me? I won't even doubt that Clowney may very well be the #1 overall prospect in 2014...That is quite possible...But he's not a QB...Who would you rather have, Aldon Smith, or Colin Kaepernick, if you're trying to build an NFL Championship Team and you don't have a Franchise caliber QB?...And you said it yourself...HOF potential and dominate in College...So...Who won the Heisman again? How many National Championships does McCarron have? I think all 3 of those QB's fit that criteria every bit as well as Clowney without taking anything away from Clowney and his immense potential... So in summary, my logic is...If The Bills finish 0-16 in 2013, and they still don't have a QB going in to the 2014 Draft, they damn well better come away with one of those 3 QB's...Clowney, or no Clowney...That's my logic... -
He was also a Rookie who far outperformed most expectations in his 1st year... Just saying...

Will Bills have a poor record in 2013 ?
KOKBILLS replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You did see how many points Defenses that were 100 times better than The Bills Defense gave up to Franchise caliber QB's in the Playoffs right? You witnessed that...Did you not? Until The Bills actually have a QB, it's the biggest need...And there is not even a close 2nd...Period...End of story... -

I have no idea if it's true or not...I'm not going to do the research...But Thursday Night one of the analysts on NFL Network's Total Access said that Fitz had the most turnovers of any QB in the NFL over the past 3 years... So...
