  1. I don't think at #9 it's much of a possibility...But in a trade down it's certainly possible...
  2. Well... I can see Ebron at #9...But it depends on who went top 8...I don't think the Bills would take Ebron over the following players...Robinson, Matthews, Watkins, Evans, or Mack...And of course Clowney but he'll never be there... A couple notes...Not picking on you just giving my opinion as usual...Not that you asked for it... Anthony Barr is as much an NFL DE as I am right now...And I'm 5-9-185...Wide-9 or not, I don't think he's a fit at DE unless he fills out big-time...And even then I doubt it...He did 15 reps at the Combine...He's not physical enough yet to play DE...He's going to have some issues anchoring as a 3-4 OLB and that's his best fit... How is LG still a need? The Bills went out and spent decent money on a LG who is a former 1st round pick? Plus...And I think this continues to get lost every single year...The Bills have an organizational philosophy...They prefer not to take OG's with premium picks...They take OT's and convert them because they feel in a pinch they need players who can fill in outside as well...So...If you're looking for an OG a player like Brandon Thomas is a much better fit for the way the Bills Draft than Yankey...Also...Martin will never slide to the 2nd...And the Bills would 100% take Moses over Yankey... I don't see Michael Sam as a fit for this Defense, nor do I see him as a 4th Round prospect...IMHO he's borderline Draft-able...He's a tweener that lacks speed...He's WAY too stiff to play OLB, even in a 3-4...He's also too small and not nearly strong enough to play DE in NFL...He's the worst kind of tweener...He's all effort, but in the NFL that does not get you far...His future in the NFL depends on how well he can play ST's... I like Carlos Hyde but I don't think there's any way he falls to the 3rd...I think too many teams have him as their #1 RB... Anyway...
  3. I did a Mock last night and had Bridgewater going to the Vikings...I think they're the landing spot for that 3rd QB in the top 8, whoever slides down...So maybe that will make your friend feel a little better? I had the Bills taking Matthews in my Mock...Here's how I mocked the top 9 picks... Houston - Blake Bortles - QB St Louis - Greg Robinson - OT Jacksonville - Johnny Football - QB Cleveland - Jadeveon Clowney - DE Oakland - Sammy Watkins - WR Atlanta - Khalil Mack - OLB Tampa Bay - Mike Evans - WR Minnesota - Teddy Bridgewater - QB Buffalo - Jake Matthews - OT I think if Matthews falls to the Bills they won't hesitate to take him...If Matthews, Evans, Robinson, and Watkins are all gone I think the Bills will look to trade out, and if they can't decide between Lewan and Ebron...We'll see though...Lots of shifting parts and we still have a month...Damn you Roger!!! Damn you!!!
  4. Yes...Polian said he knows that for a fact...
  5. This just tweeted from PFF... Pro Football Focus ‏@PFF 6m Most yards gained on "go" routes: Alshon Jeffery, AJ Green, Demaryius Thomas, Jordy Nelson, Jimmy Graham, Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall See anything in common? Only one of those receivers (Nelson who is 6-2 5/8) is shorter than 6-3... Just saying...That's why a player like Evans is in such demand...
  6. What? Now...I agree the Bills already have a LT and he's not moving...But there are 3 LT prospects in this Draft that are considered elite...All three have higher grades than the OT prospect that went #1 overall last year... Also...Clowney's never going to fall to the Bills, and it's ultra-doubtful the Bills trade up to get him... And the next Bruce? No offense, but I don't understand why people say these things...So this kid, who has never played a single down in the NFL and at times completely disappeared in College, is the next Bruce?...The same Bruce who is unquestionably one of the top 5 DE's in the entire history of the NFL...Why do that to the kid? That type of expectation is unfair IMHO...If he's the next Robert Quinn that is pretty darn good...But the next Bruce? We'll see...I have no problem predicting he's not the next Bruce Smith, or Lawrence Taylor...Because the odds I'm right about that are massively in my favor...Let's wait and see...Clowney is clearly worthy of the #1 overall pick...That in itself is a great accomplishment for him...After a few years in the NFL we'll see who he compares to...I still doubt it will be Bruce...But maybe...Again...we'll see...
  7. You mean Jones contribution? Because I can't find info concerning that specifically...Though it seems unlikely this soon...But it's not like anything concerning Jerry's World is going bad either... From the Stadium Wiki..."Arlington voters approved the increase of the city's sales tax by 0.5 percent, the hotel occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent. The City of Arlington provided over $325 million (including interest) in bonds as funding, and Jones covered any cost overruns. Also, the NFL provided the Cowboys with an additional $150 million loan, following its policy for facilitating financing for the construction of new stadiums." This from the Star-Telegram's article on the naming rights..."With the additional revenue, Arlington’s stadium debt could be paid off up to a year sooner, City Manager Trey Yelverton said. Because revenue is coming in faster than expected, officials have said that the debt should be paid off by 2024 or 2025 — at least 10 years early." http://www.star-tele...make-major.html It does seem all debt pay-off projections are far ahead of schedule though... http://www.dallasnew...tadium-9172.ece Read more here: http://www.star-tele...l#storylink=cpy
  8. I would tend to agree... I also think this trade may have been spurned on by the realization that Evans was not getting past Tampa at #7... More than anything I think the Bills are going to be looking to move down a bit, especially if Clowney, Robinson, Matthews, Watkins, Mack, and Evans all go in the Top 8...In that scenario, if they stayed at #9, I would expect Ebron to be the pick...Though I would not be surprised if they take Lewan there...In a trade down, if Ebron and Lewan are gone, don't sleep on HaHa Clinton-Dix and Justin Gilbert...Both are big play-makers in the secondary with size...
  9. Than Bush? I don't know if I would say much better...Better? I guess so...I think CJ is definitely more explosive...I think Bush is slightly more elusive though, especially in traffic...If anything I think they are very similar...Both are definitely dynamic playmakers in their own right...
  10. Of all the rumors and garbage out there I have heard this is the most interesting to me...If only because, to me at least, why would you have Spiller and CJ2K? Maybe it's just me...But that makes no sense...
  11. They're not trading up for Clowney...At least I don't think that's a possibility... This trade basically means nothing...They gave up a 6th round pick...If anything they are protecting themselves in case Evans is Drafted in the top 8...Mike Williams has some serious issues to overcome...He's no where near a lock to make this team...They cut Rogers...They won't hesitate to cut Williams if he's not real good on and off the field...
  12. They may not get the chance anyway if Tampa takes him at #7...
  13. So... I think this may make Mike Evans to Tampa @ #7 a big-time possibility...
  14. The Bills are hoping to build a team that can at least contend for a Wild Card spot in 2014...I just don't think security (depth) at ILB is going to be much of Draft priority...Not to say they won't Draft an ILB...Just doubt it will be in the first 4 rounds or so...
  15. I think Cleveland is such an interesting situation...Pettine has gone three consecutive years coaching pretty decent Defenses only to see his teams miss the Playoffs due in large part to inconsistency and injury at the QB position...I think Pettine is the kind of coach who knows he can make a Defense decent with average talent...But even with great talent on Defense it won't matter much without a QB... Thought this was kind of interesting...Not that Gordon would know for certain...But it's still interesting... http://nfl.si.com/2014/03/27/2014-nfl-draft-josh-gordon-browns-qb-no-4-pick/
  16. My guess is Evans... But I think between Matthews, Lewan, Evans, and Ebron...one of them will be a Bill...
  17. I know right? I hate that!!! I've had Davis 2 years in a row now in FF...Love that guy...
  18. Agreed... And I also find it interesting that Murph seems to be concentrating much more on the Bills interest in Mike Evans than he is any of the O-Linemen...
  19. Listened to Murph again tonight...Have to say I get a kick out of how obviously irritated he gets when this rumor is brought up...You can tell it's not his favorite subject... And for the record I really like Murph...It's just funny to hear the change in his voice and how short he gets with callers when they bring it up... Have to say if this story had even a hint of validity I think Murph would be a little more open to discussing the possibility...
  20. Agreed... Amaro is also 6-5 3/8 - 265....So...While it's 100% true he was not asked to do a lot of in-line blocking in College that does not mean he can't eventually turn into a serviceable all-around NFL TE...Some scouts, amateur and pro, seem to get a little overwhelmed with what a kid did in College when in fact he was only doing what he was told and coached to do...Amaro did what he was told and coached to do pretty well last season considering he had over 100 receptions...Is he going to look like a decent blocker when he almost never does it and the coaches spend less time on refining those skills? Of coarse not...But it's not like he's 6-2-235...He's a BIG kid, he's strong for a TE (28 reps @225), and he's pretty athletic (he had the 4th highest vertical jump and 3rd best broad jump among TE's at the Combine)...And I'm pretty certain in time with decent NFL coaching he'll be passable in the blocking area...Not saying he's ever going to be a mauler...But he should be just fine...And it's already a proven fact he can catch the ball...
  21. Here's another excellent tool for Combine results... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AseLAGMydisldHE0Rl9kOGxPXzhPckREX3NQd0dQTGc&usp=drive_web#gid=0
  22. That was a Jauron pick...It's pretty well known Maybin was dead Dick's guy...Brandon had zero to do with the Draft that year...He's not a personnel guy...Never was, never will be...
  23. Interesting considering some scouts are saying Evans hands are among the best they've ever seen... I'm still OK with Ebron overall...But I definitely like Evans more...
  24. So...I'm not arguing the need for versatility...I get that...But you have to gauge the value of versatility against the value of another prospect that can offer much more while using a premium Draft pick...Especially a 1st or 2nd round pick...How big is the need of versatility for a position that NFL teams are playing an average of 2 guys on 57% of Defensive snaps? You want to utilize a premium pick for versatility on Defense? Then I would much rather see the Bills use a premium pick on a big Safety. Because a big Safety is going to be on the field for 100% of the Defensive snaps... If a guy like Skov is the best prospect available in the 3rd round I can see that...But he's not going to be the BPA in the 2nd round...I can all but guarantee that much...Especially in this Draft...
