Well...I noticed the same thing myself... Mosely is a good ILB prospect...No doubt about it...But all due respect to Draftek (I have no idea what formula they are using), Mosely is not going to the Bills at #9 unless some REAL crazy stuff happens in the top 8... As far as BPA goes...If you take the QB's out of the equation (Whaley all but admitted the other day the Bills will not be looking at a QB in the 1st round) the BPA list would probably go something like Clowney, Robinson, Watkins, Matthews, Mack, Lewan, Barr, Evans, and Ebron ahead of Mosley ...Then Mosely would be in that next tier group that would include Dennard, Martin, Donald, and Gilbert... So I really don't see how it would be possible for Mosley to truly be BPA at #9...Especially if those 3 QB's go in the top 8...

He's obviously said the same to Aaron Williams as well...Last night on John Murphy's show when asked about the Byrd situation Williams said...and I'll paraphrase a little...he's been asked a ton about Byrd and the one thing he wants people to understand is that Byrd would have no problem coming back to Buffalo...He said it's just business and it's got to play out basically...So...

I think it's easy to deduce this...But it's just as easy to doubt it...Depends on your perspective and generally your amount of Brandon mistrust... I think he brought in Marrone and elevated Whaley to bring real...and I mean real, true, provable change you can see on the field...I believe Brandon is 100% dedicated to empowering the football side...I also believe it's easier said that done, especially in this organization, and it's not going to happen overnight... Of course I fully realize I may be wrong, and Brandon may only be interested in staying firmly in the middle, making everyone happy...Which of course is impossible and never works...I guess we'll see in time who is right...

D'Qwell Jackson (LB) Released by Browns
KOKBILLS replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a heck of a good deal for Jackson...$11 million guaranteed!!!...He'll be 31 in September...Interesting... -
I think Byrd is open to returning because it's still possible that all the possible suitors that are contenders will try to low ball him, and the only teams that get close to the Bills offer will be the Cleveland's of the world...In that case Byrd will likely be happy to return to the Bills...But that scenario seems like a bit of a longshot at this time...

I disagree about Bridgewater...He may not have the ideal size but he's seen as a very safe pick at QB...He's a good kid, hard worker, he hit that rare 70% completion mark as a Jr, he comes from a pro system, and he was very effective vs the blitz in college...He's top 6 in just about everybody's big board...One of the QB needy teams will bite on him in the top 8... And to that point Manziel is the only QB that is a bit up and down on some boards...Certain scouts feel he is a definitive top 5 talent...Others have him way down in the 1st...I think scouts and teams are far less divided on Bortles and Bridgewater...They are seen as much safer prospects by most...
-
I would not worry yourself too much on that one...The big question right now is Manziel...Bridgewater and Bortles will go top 8...You can pretty much take that to the bank...Bridgewater is a real safe pick for a QB needy team...And Bortles, while he's clearly not there yet, is thought of by some as a poor mans Andrew Luck...No way those two get out of the top 8...Manziel though? Who knows...I'm beginning to think it's possible for him to slide out...And if Manziel slides out, I think there is a good chance Evans slides in... Did they say who Minnesota wanted? Can you imagine if Minnesota passed on one of the QB's?...I can't see that happening...Maybe if all 3 QB's and Mack are gone they would look to trade down...But I don't think they'll want to bail out too far...The Vikings also have a big need at CB...#8 may be a bit high, but they can secure the top CB in the Draft there should they wish to...Interesting...

Those are the two players I've seen Matthews compared to most...Not bad company... Ebron/Matthews would be very interesting...
-
Well...It's a Bills message board so a few folks tend to always tie a Bills bust to a player they don't want to see the Bills Draft...It's simpleton thinking at it's finest... From the scouts in the know I'm reading a lot more comparisons to Brandon Marshall than James Hardy...Well...I have yet to see anyone who writes or scouts football compare him to James Hardy...so...

Just saw Great Blue North has Evans going #5 overall to Oakland... Uh oh!
-
Good to hear... I agree that Brandon is squarely in the Whaley/Marrone corner...I've felt that way all along...They are tied at the hip...Russ was put in charge and shortly thereafter Marrone was hired, and Whaley was promoted...It just makes sense that those three are in full agreement with the plan going forward...I think this whole thing is akin to a marathon rather than a sprint...It's going to take a little more time...But it's moving slowly in the right direction...
-
Matthews is definitely flying under the radar a bit right now...He lost a little ground at the Sr Bowl...But I think he's going to move up closer to Draft time...He would be an excellent target for the Bills at #41 if they go OT at #9...
-
Pick 9: Mike Evans WR Pick 41: Morgan Moses OT Pick 73: Telvin Smith OLB - I like his speed and length to match up with TE's and play some weak side... Pick 105: CJ Fiedorowicz TE Pick 137: Phillip Gaines CB Pick 169: Dontae Johnson DB Pick 201: Max Bullough ILB

Battle Royal between Evans and Ebron shaping up!!!
-
Well it's still early...Tough to get a gauge on the teams ahead of us...But I still think it will be Evans, Ebron, Lewan, or Matthews...One of those 4... I'm leaning more towards Evans every day though...Especially after I heard Whaley's comments the other day...I think the Bills are dying to get EJ a big target...

Who needs music to get laid? And if you think Rush is about Geddy's voice you simply do not get it...But that's cool...Not everyone does...

Bills sign Aaron Williams to extension
KOKBILLS replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure all Bills fans remember Aaron's struggles at CB... According to Marrone, Searcy will likely remain in his role as the 3rd Safety...He has a specific role in the Defense and they really would rather not mess with it because they feel he is very effective in that role...Duke Williams and Jonathan Meeks are the next men up if Byrd departs...Plus I'm sure the Bills will look towards Free Agency and the Draft (in the middle rounds) to see what they can get... Just listened to Aaron Williams on John Murphy's show and it does seem like it's still a possibility...The one thing Aaron wanted to make sure he put out there was that Byrd would very much like to come back to Buffalo if they can work it all out...So...We'll see... -

Bills sign Aaron Williams to extension

Yep! -
Exactly... Lets look at it another way...Lewan is a hell of a good athlete...An incredible athlete for a LT prospect...But Glenn is bigger (35 lbs heavier), has longer arms, he's stronger, and he's only .28 of a second slower than Lewan in the 40...And most importantly Glenn now has 29 games of experience as an NFL LT...It's nothing against any of these good looking OT prospects...But why play games with your very young QB's blindside? Especially when your current LT is arguably top 5 in the NFL in pass blocking efficiency...It just makes no sense to move Glenn...

Bills sign Aaron Williams to extension

This deal is going to look like a heck of a bargain after 2014...That's my prediction at least... -
I fully agree they should have tagged him to at the very least test the market for the first couple weeks of free agency...Just to see if they could get something for him...They can pretty much remove the tag anytime they want to because there is no way Byrd is going to sign that tender any time soon... Without knowing for certain it's all speculation...But again I'll guess...And my guess is the Bills feel that by not tagging Byrd they are back in his good graces...And they also feel he's not going to get near what they offered him from any team he really wants to play for...So in the end he'll be forced to choose between taking less to play for a contender, or taking close to what the Bills are offering, to a little more, from a team like Cleveland...The Bills are gambling that puts them in a decent position...That's just my guess...
