  1. Seantrel Henderson? Well that is a shocker...
  2. Completely agree...I agree with your point on Bruce and I'll add Reggie White and LT as well...White had 15 sacks in his Sr year at Tennessee...LT had 16 in his final year at UNC...Game-planning for elite talent is not something new that just came around a few years ago...It's been around for a while...No one should need to make excuses for a player who is truly great... Clowney is a great athlete...An elite athlete...He's not yet an elite football player...Mayock said today he may be the best pure athlete ever...like...ever, ever...at the DE position...But this notion that all you have to do is put on the tape to see how special he is...I could not possibly disagree with that more...I have put on the tape...I've seen a ton of Clowney...Probably more that any other player in this Draft...I've seen him live, watched tape on him, and followed his career from the day he showed up at Columbia while I lived two hours north in Charlotte...Clowney is exactly the player his Jr and Sr stats showed...He's a guy with amazing, super-hero-like, ability who can make great, game changing plays, and at the same time completely disappear for stretches of games...And sometimes for entire games...He is not a naturally instinctive player...Or...He is, but he just does not care enough...His work ethic is constantly in question...This is not anything new...He consistently flashes into the backfield only to come up with a just-miss...He's just not anywhere near the football player his hype would have you believe yet...Can he get there? Definitely he can...Some players grow up fast when they get to the NFL and it becomes a job...And then again some don't... I would never bet against a player like Clowney because his natural ability is literally off-the-charts...But the red flags are there with him as well...And anyone who just assumes he's going to put in the work necessary to be as great as his hype would predict is taking a major, major leap of faith...
  3. First let me say no one is a bigger Mayock fan than I am...I've been enjoying the guy since his first day on NFL Network and I think he's the best at what he does... Lets see if I can clarify...Of course it's his list alone...I'm not saying anyone else wrote it...But I feel he slides players up and down based a lot on what he hears out there from people he knows and trusts...which are many...He has his opinion...He hears something...He goes back and looks at more film...He adjusts...He hears a player will not get past a team...He goes back and looks again...He adjusts...He hears a player is sliding back...He goes back...Looks at more...Adjusts... And...Plenty of people have Ebron ranked high...Greg Gabriel has him #7 overall...Great Blue North has him #11...I just glanced at NFL.com and 5 out of the 8 Mock Drafts posted by the "experts" have Ebron going to Buffalo at #9...Ebron is generally liked and some even feel he is the next big thing at TE...It's actually his detractors who are in the clear minority...
  4. Interesting... I've always felt Mayock adjusts his rankings based on what he hears as much as what he sees...He's got 2 QB's in the top 15 (Manziel at #10, and Bortles at #15)...QB's generally get over Drafted...So I think there is still at least a decent chance two go in the top 8...And that's good for the Bills...
  5. What an incredibly awesome quote to open an article!!!... "You know, I think we can all agree that the offseason is way too long. It leads to players with too much time on their hands getting in trouble. Sometimes it's with the law, sometimes it's with their own team, and sometimes it's ... whatever the hell this is..."
  6. OK... So far there are 66 people who have voted against Drafting Manziel on a Buffalo Bills message board...All of whom obviously are not "true" Bills fans...Sounds like an awful lot of really bored folks on the internets today...
  7. Love the 1st two picks and Hill in Rd. #4... But Henderson is a train wreck waiting to happen...His red flags have red flags...I'd rather have Lawrence or Murphy there... And I'm not sure Sam gets Drafted at all, let alone in the 5th Round...
  8. That's the advantage of being the owner!!!
  9. Like I said it's long, long-shot...But it would be SO sweet!!!
  10. I keep hearing that ultimately...it's Haslam's pick...In that he's going to have veto power...If he agrees with the pick all is good...But if not he's going to have a major voice...That's why he streamlined everything...
  11. Though the Bradford to Minnesota thing may not help much if it comes true...That's one team removed from the QB needy pool...The hope would be for St Louis to take Manziel at #2 causing the other QB needy teams to panic...The best case scenario would be for Manziel to go #2 to St Louis, Bortles #3 to J-Ville, then Cleveland takes Carr at #4...It's a super long-shot for all that to happen...Maybe a million to one...But boy oh boy would it be good for the Bills... 1. Houston - Clowney 2. St Louis - Manziel 3. J-Ville - Bortles 4. Cleveland - Carr 5. Oakland - Robinson 6. Atlanta - Mack 7. Tampa Bay - Watkins 8. St Louis - Matthews 9. Buffalo - Evans
  12. Oh goodness...That's not a good stat...
  13. Agreed...But I did read somewhere that Manziel's numbers inside the pocket were surprisingly good when compared to the other prospects...Maybe I'm mis-remembering...He does bail too much prematurely...I think it's just a matter of discipline with him and creating an Offense he can be comfortable with... He's a risk...No question...And it's going to take an organizational commitment along with some maturity on his part...But based purely on his abilities there is no reason he can't be as good as Russell Wilson if he tones it down and becomes more cerebral...
  14. And the best QB he coached was McNair...Which was a bit of a gamble pick at the time as well...
  15. I like him a lot as well... So many excellent possibilities at #41...And that's even without counting the few players who will likely fall through the cracks...It happens every year...Cordy Glenn is the perfect example of that...And this is the exact reason why I am so adamantly against giving up #41 to move up in this Draft...Too much talent...Get an extra pick if the top 8 does not go our way...This Draft is the one to do it in...
  16. But from now on stay away from my cats...
  17. Bradford showed serious signs of starting to figure it out before the last injury...Just have to keep him upright...Which is no small task mind you... And on another note...maybe it's just me...but I can totally see Fisher falling in love with Manziel...I'm not sure exactly why I feel that way...But I can see it for whatever reason...
  18. I SO want this to be true just for the drama...It would make for one of the best Draft stories in recent years...Especially if it caused a team to move up to #1, or for Houston to stay put and take a QB at #1...It would be awesome... The only thing that makes me think it's not going to happen is the fact that it came out today...This would seemingly be the kind of move that you want to keep under serious wraps...Because by all accounts it was looking like Houston was going to be stuck at #1 and taking Clowney... We'll see I guess...But at the absolute least things just got interesting for the NFL Network tonight...
  19. Casserly is quickly becoming the "old curmudgeon" of NFL experts...While I realize there is a chance for things to fall out of Manziel's favor...The truth is projecting him to the 2nd round is a real big reach at this point...All it takes is one...
  20. The only thing that makes me wonder about this deal is what it does to Houston, or any other team that may have been thinking secretly about moving up for Manziel...Because if this rumor comes true it's time to put up or shut-up...If you want Johnny Football you better take him at #1...Granted St Louis could still wait...But who would gamble on that if the really wanted Manziel? This would make the next few days thrilling to watch!!! I'm SO hoping this rumor is true!!! Bradford played very well before he got hurt...albeit again...last year...7 games...14 TD's to only 4 INT's and a 91 QB rating...He was showing signs of being the QB he was Drafted to be...However brief...
  21. If the Bills got CK in the 2nd round I would seriously have to move all the stuff out of my living room in order to have room for multiple back-flips!!!
