  1. Cody Ford is absolutely flying up the charts... Ledyard and Sikkema had him going top 10, before the Bills pick in their last Mock...?
  2. I know you did not ask me...But I'll chime in... To me Metcalf is is clearly the #1 WR in this Draft...I feel like there is at least a bit of distance between D.K. and the rest...And I fully admit most of that analysis is based on upside...But it's crazy upside...And I know it's early...But if I had to guess, assuming he's still there, he'll be the pick at #9...I think D.K. is the WR version of Josh Allen...Massive physical tools, almost limitless upside, but where he played in College is going to make the tape-only people REAL nervous... I don't think there is a snowballs chance in Hades the Bills go CB in the 1st...I'm not thrilled with this CB class anyway, and I think there will be plenty of players with higher grades than any CB when the Bills pick...I'm not saying it's not a need, and I do think they'll take one...But not in the first 3 rounds... If the Bills go D-Line at #9 I'd keep my eye on Ed Oliver...He may get squeezed down a bit...But I still think the Bills would go Metcalf over Oliver...?
  3. The inability to come up with an answer for Edelman on 3rd Downs was the difference IMHO... You can't give him free release, pass him off, and not expect Brady to thread the needle and hit him every time...We've seen that enough to know...?
  4. McCoy probably...in a reduced role... But I see zero reason to keep Clay around... 0.00...?
  5. I prefer the type of WR that is D.K. Metcalf... There are plenty of good WR's in this Draft...It's a really nice class with decent depth...We just need another guy that can step up and be consistent no matter what type...I do think Metcalf is the one guy in this Draft that has legit #1 WR potential (yes the dreaded p-word)...Assuming his health checks out and he develops properly...The rest, while clearly having a lot of talent, remind more of solid #2's...But that's OK...We just need more talent there of any type...?
  6. To be perfectly honest Josh scared the heck out of me as a prospect... But there were plenty of reasons...To say I was not a big fan of Wyoming's Offense is an understatement...I watched as many of his College games as I could, and when I did I found myself yelling at the TV like it was a Bills game... "What are they doing!" When they went against bigger schools they were not only out-talented...they were grossly out-coached...So as a prospect this made it SO hard for me to project... Keep in mind I was the guy who told anyone who would listen that Pat Mahomes was the #1 overall prospect in the 2017 Draft...Mayfield was my QB1 in 2018...So I think I'm at least a decent amateur scout when it comes to QB play...When I watched Mahomes I saw shades of Favre...But I was also able to see the kid throw a million passes in a wide-open Offense that gave me a good overall picture in how he could convert to the NFL...In Mayfield I saw Brees...He also threw a million passes and I was ultra impressed with his uncanny ability to put the ball exactly where it needs to be consistently...When I watched Josh, as an athlete he reminded me of Elway...But outside of a nice moment here and there he was never given the coaching or play calling (IMHO) to show me if it was transferable to the next level... But that is exactly why I now have so much excitement when it comes to Josh's future...You had this extremely raw kid with these amazing tools...He had by far the least amount of experience vs good competition in College, and again by far the worst Offense and play calling...Then you place him on an NFL team with a terrible Offensive line, poor skill position players, and a running game that can't keep any Defense honest...And the kid still showed progress...He got better...He became a leader...He won over his teammates and the locker room...And he seems to have the right mindset to make a big step in year 2... So my opinion has definitely changed...I'm cautiously optimistic...Even excited about the future...?
  7. That rushing stat is greatly misleading...It was basically all Josh...Take out his rushing yards (68% of which came in only 4 games) and the Bills are the 31st rushing offense.. The running game outside of Allen was just awful...They were at about 85 yds per game with the rest of the team rushing... I'm not one to say you have to have a top running game to win in the NFL...I do think however you need at least an average rushing attack...It keeps Defenses honest and greatly effects play action passing...Of the bottom 16 teams in rushing only two, Philly (28th) and Indy (20th) made the Playoffs...And I'm guessing Indy was at least a top 16 rushing team in the 2nd half of 2018... Of course this directly ties into O-Line play...But I think it's just as important to build a respectable running game in 2019 as it is to bring in more skill position talent...It will open up so many things for Josh...To me that means an O-line overhaul (RT, RG, C) and one of the slew of mid-round RB's that will be available in the upcoming Draft...?
  8. Williams can play OT in the NFL at a high level and I really have very little doubt about it...He's got the best footwork I've see in a while...His technique is almost spotless...He mirrors so well, sinks his hips when bull-rushed...Even when a DE gets the edge on him he's usually so quick with his feet he's able to recover no problem...And when he gets to the 2nd level in the run game he can be a mauler...At this point he's by far the best OT prospect in this Draft...Little is no where near Jonah...He can certainly slide into OG in his Rookie year if that's what a team wants to do with him...And he'll be real good there too...But IMHO he's going to be an OT long-term...If he's there at #9, and I was Beane, it's a no-brainer...?
  9. Fanspeak On The Clock Premium in 3, 2, 1...?
  10. You sure you did not accidentally flip flop the 2 and the 3...?
  11. I'm not saying whatsoever that I think Josh is going to be a great NFL QB... I am saying if you think you're going to be able to figure it out in his Rookie year on this joke of an Offensive Roster you're kidding yourself... There is absolutely no telling because A) He's a Rookie...B) They are absolutely terrible in blocking for the running game...Just awful...And C) He was going to be a developmental-type anyway... I don't think Josh will ever be a 65% plus passer...I see plenty of things he does right now to be cautious about any long-term optimism...But I do think there is a developmental path for him to be just fine...Even very good if all the pieces fall into place...He's got to grow a ton...But the situation they shoved him into this year is about as bad as you can imagine for a Rookie QB...And that considered, at times, he's looked OK...So we'll see next year when they get him help...And they better get him A LOT of help...?
  12. Excuse making? Seriously?...Do you have any idea what it takes to be a good NFL QB as a Rookie while playing on one of the worst, if not the worst Offense personnel-wise in the entire NFL?...It's not an excuse...It's cold, hard, sober fact... And who said he does not need work? He's a Rookie...He needs of ton of work...There are no guarantees...But if you think you're going to be able to tell much while he's trying to steer this barge you're nuts...?
  13. I think it will all come in time...I really do... To me it's more the personnel around him than anything... In this age of hyper-analysis it's easy to forget the kid was going to be a project QB regardless...Then he's forced into an Offense with a bad O-Line, suspect skill position players all over, the penalties (tied for 6th in the league in offensive holding, tied for 9th in false starts, can't find the illegal formation stats but I know they have to be high) and a pathetic running game...Just pathetic...I mean...I'm certainly not saying you have to have a top running game to win long term...But this is a Rookie QB with suspect targets who gets NO help from the running game...None...The Bills had a measly 42 yds rushing today from their RB's...42!!! 10.5 yds per quarter!!!...Against NE, and what Belichick is going to show the kid, if you can't luck into a 10 yard run every now and again you're toast...When the Bills hand the ball off I cringe knowing the inevitable 1-2 yd gain is coming...That is not going to help any Rookie QB grow... I'm SO looking forward to that side of the ball being blown up this off season...Outside of Allen and Barkley, If it's only Zay, Foster, and Dawkins back on Offense I'm fine with it...And with that in mind I'm not going to over-think what Josh is doing right now...Give him something that approaches an average, just average, NFL Offense personnel-wise and then we'll see...Not saying he will be Brady...But he'll be a lot better...I'm pretty sure of it...Pretty-kinda sure...??
  14. The Bills are not bringing much pressure vs Darnold... I'm sure they noticed his struggles vs zone before he got hurt and that was the game plan... Problem is he's finding the WR's popping open from time to time because he's literally got all day...
  15. The Bills should have won this game by 20... Special Teams are going to be a major concern going into 2019...
  16. Ugh...Can't believe he went for the FG there knowing the Kicker is not 100%...it's a 54.5 yard attempt... Dumb...
  17. Wow...There's bad, real bad, terribly bad...then this...?
  18. I mean... No one is surprised...Right?
  19. Tough drive for the D... But 10 mins left and NE has 18...If we had any...any...Offense this would have been interesting... That's Bills football though...If's and but's...?
  20. Are we an NFL team? 3rd and 8 and we run? Pats are almost back in FG range in 2 plays... What a joke...
  21. 2 straight 3rd Downs now... Good grief...
  22. Yawn...? Good grief... Look...There are a few undeniable facts about the 2018 Buffalo Bills...They have the most dead cap money in the NFL, and this was the plan pretty much from day #1 of the McBeane union...The greatly unlikely Playoff appearance last year probably gave them the impression that they could do things with this roster no one expected...Instead, it's gone the way it logically should when you have about half-a-roster of talent...No one should be surprised...It was kind of the plan... But...They will likely have a Top 5 pick in 2019, and as many as 9 more picks after that one...They will have a slew of cap space...They'll have a Top 10 QB with a little experience under his belt, and they will very likely have a Top 10 Defense when more reinforcements are added... There was always the chance this season would go bad...It's not like you have to be all that smart to figure there was a chance this could happen...But the time to really judge McD and Beane will start next season...If there's more of this next year then all bets are off...But I'm not going to pine over an obviously talented young HC who just-so-happens to have one of, if not the most talented overall roster in the entire league...Not yet at least...?
  23. Agreed...And I'm pretty much a McBeane supporter...But in this case both hosts asked the questions they HAD to ask and did it in a respectful enough way... Who know what is going on behind the scenes with McD today...He's in a spot with Peterman and he obviously knows it...But I don't think he handled it as well as he could have...?
