  1. Rex has to go, whatever the cost. The top brass need to acknowledge the mistake and start over. We are due for a longer rebuild every year he is still here. Say we keep him and we have another year like this one, or even worse? Why wait another year. The lack of discipline and overly complicated schemes lay at the feet of the head coach. Period. His blowharding is an embarrassment and the people of Buffalo deserve better.
  2. I want to see Panthers-Pats only to see the Patriots get completely scorched and Newton hotdogging and doing TD dances while Brady pouts and eventually cries. Is that too much to ask?
  3. This one stings more than most years - we are more talented and balanced them we've been in years and the result is the same. It comes down to coaching. The lack of discipline from week to week is astonishing.
  4. It's been said already but how are you an NFL team that doesn't have a no huddle package? The game is on the line and time is winding down. We showed absolutely no sense of urgency or ability to operate intelligently in this scenario. When I saw the Pats getting their defensive subs in at will it was a pure indictment of our staff.
  5. Bills come from behind in this one with a 30 yard laser to Watkins. 24-20 Bills.
  6. He is done. He routinely throws behind receivers. Talented physical skills but not enough feel for timing. We've seen this movie and the staff has enough film on him . TT for the started job and Cassell for the veteran backup for when TT gets pummeled by running around so much.
  7. Absolute chickenshit decision there. I was on board with giving Marrone another year after the GB game. Not now. Enough of the fear-based coaching. Get someone with a sac.
  8. The stretch of the game where Orton had about 6 incompletions in a row looked to me to be almost 100% on the receivers. The receivers got a bad case of the dropsies and now it's time for a bash Orton thread? He's not Manning but god is he better then Manuel and it's not even close. Abandoning the run game didn't help either. Take away either of the fumbles, Bills win and we don't even see this thread. This board is funny.
  9. Mike Williams being inactive for all these games - a healthy scratch - is one of the stupidest things I've seen from this coaching staff. Who cares if Hogan is playing better in practice? We have an issue in the red zone and with weak TE's, a glaring need for big bodied receivers.
  10. Disagree! The Bills are stuck in the position of being a JV team. Some may point to coaching but there is a talent gap that will prevent the Bills from getting to the playoffs for the foreseeable future. While some may say we are a few pieces (or a franchise QB) away from getting there, there is no path to getting there with the bad personnel decisions they've made. Sammy Watkins: either use him or prove you wasted resources to improve long term. Next year we can't reload due to him. I think anything less than 9-7 and a full sweep of the front office and coaching staffs has to happen.
  11. Fred Jackson plays with more heart and tenacity than most players in the NFL period. He runs as if his life depends on it, he fights for every inch. He plows into bigger guys all the time and usually blows them up. I bet if you asked around the league what other players thought about FJ they'd say he's a tough SOB and they wished they had him on their team. Were any of you even surprised by the JJ Watt play and the block FredEx threw on him? CJ Spiller doesn't fight for the extra yard. He studiously avoids contact (some may say wisely) but is almost always aiming for the out of bounds line even if a little contact would get him the first downs we desperately need. He can be electric but it's not nearly often enough.
  12. This is crazy- I just found out the "J" in EJ actually stands for Jamarcus.
  13. Exactly. What exactly was there to lose by using the transition tag at the very least? Even if they knew there was no way Byrd would sign with the Bills, it would show the fans and the existing players they cared about retaining talent. By not using it, they send all the wrong messages to everyone. "If you blossom into a great player and outgrow your contract, your best bet is to hardball the franchise and they will just release you". And to the fans, "Watch and root for this great young talent, the better he gets the closer he gets to leaving the organization". That's not gonna sell jerseys.
  14. I hope the Bills don't sign any new players represented by Mr. Parker. We'll develop them and lose them as soon as their stock rises
  15. http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2013/story/_/id/9412923/dwyane-wade-miami-heat-needed-knee-drained-play-game-7-finals I imagine EJ Manuel will be ready to play week one vs the Pats. Whether the coaches decide to play him or not will be a measure of how much they trust him to be able to do well do considering the lost time in preseason, and their level of risk aversion. Assuming he gets a full blessing from the medical staff, I hope he starts. He gives us the best chance to win.
  16. The two are related. Fitz may not be good enough to overcome this absolute mess of an offensive line but there are only a couple guys who would be.
  17. No QB is going to look good behind this makeshift line decimated by injury. We've seen it for years. When our line was healthy and playing well we got excellent QB play. Everyone so quick to throw Fitz under the bus is not grasping this. We have a Guard turned Tackle turned Center snapping the ball for heavens sake. Have you seen how bad the snaps are so far? If we get some OL depth an a new DC we will be so much better next year.
  18. How 'bout Fitz carves up the D with perfect passes like he was the first few games? Pull the linebackers back and open up the holes for Fred to get to the second level. Until they respect the passing game they will stuff the box. Definitely agree about utilizing Brad Smith more, he converts and moves the chains. But for me the X factor is Fitz. He just has to play better, and our line needs some divine intervention to hold up.
  19. I think the key is for the Bills D to remember that when Vick tucks the ball and takes off he is no longer a QB and they should pummel him as they would any running back. I would love to see him get pounded over and over with completely LEGAL hits. I think this would tip the scales in the Bills favor. Flush him out of the pocket and then whomp on him is what I say....
  20. Maybe not realistic but possible. This is how I see it going down. On defense, Brady gets sacked 3 times, throws a hissy fit and two interceptions. Lights out dance for Merriman at least once. On offense, I envision so many different guys continuing to be involved moving the sticks. NE's depleted secondary is the difference in this game and we pick them apart on multiple trips to the promised land. Bills 31 Patriettes 21 God I hope I'm right!
  21. Thanks for the inside take on the Raiders. Your Raiders have the talent to be quite good, but I think you've left out the most important thing that will affect the outcome of this game. The Raiders team I saw against a pitiful Broncos team looked strong, tough and nasty, but mostly they looked disorganized and terribly undisciplined. Countless times the Raiders shoot themselves in the feet with penalties and I see this as being the deciding factor in Sunday's game. It will be the Raiders undoing if they don't fix it.
