My unofficial "No Mask While Shopping" Experiment ... Since Wednesday, when the mandate was lifted in NY, I've been to Wegmans, Home Depot, Lowes, Aldi's, and various gas/convivence stores. No one has stopped me and asked for proof of vaccine. Still more people wearing a mask versus not. Home Depot was the only store where I saw employees also going mask less.

@Chef Jim, there's going to be some interesting characters in WNY the end of July, beginning of August. Where do you suggest I go to stay out of the area? Any AirBnB you know of in the Cali region, near a golf course maybe?

Went to the Wegmans near my house after work today. The people wearing masks far out numbered the people without. I went without, but felt like maybe I should put it on. (I'll still carry it with me in case there are places that still require it)

Way back when I bought my used Ford Ranger (1998 model, bought in 2000) I wanted to get a cap for the back. Since it was a flare side, I had to go with a fiberglass cap. All the places in my area wanted about $1,000-$1,200. I decided to see if I could find one cheaper online. Calling around different places, and ended up talking to a place in Hazleton PA. The guy quotes me about the same price everyone else has, then asks if I care about what color it is. I said as long as it's not a horrible I don't. (My Ranger was that dark green color) He says he has one in red that has a factory defect, something about the paint, that he can let me have for, (pause for dramatic effect) $600. I said I'll definitely come down and take a look at it. But of course I knew I couldn't pass it up. Get there and we looked this cap all over and could not see anything defects in the paint. He still let me have it for $600 plus installation. TLDR - I drove 3 hours each way to save $600.

Not so much being cheap, but snagging a bargain when I saw it. I was at Target years ago, looking at the clearance sporting goods stuff when I saw a two burner camp stove. Typically these go for $30-$40, this was marked $15. Already a good deal. Took it over to one of those price checkers, and it showed as selling for $7.50! Score! I think someone tried to hide it to buy it later based on where it was when I found it. Their loss is my gain.

My in-laws are planning to go to the OBX next year, late July. Got lucky, we found a house with two bungalows that'll fit all 38 of us.

My wife's family is like that. We have Disney+ from one of her sisters, Hulu from her coworker, and we are sharing our CBS/Paramount+ with another sister.
