    I half expected him to finish by saying the Bills could have had Whitner in the 10th round. Suffice it to say, the news pipeline from Buffalo to Mort will be very very dry in the future.

    What was safety play last season? I'll bet that it graded out as 30th+. Forget where he was picked. We get 50% more production out the safety position, minimum.

    The other 'safeties' on this add up to a grand total of nothing, in case you haven't checked.

    I say the staff looked at the film from last season and concluded that the Bills have nothing, NOTHING in the position. The guy will likely be starting by mid-season.

    What it tells me is we needed a safety so bad we could't take a chance in not getting the #2 guy. We were going safety no matter what is my reading.

    I know one thing. If every Bills' rookie QB is given 8 games to succeed or fail, then we won't develop a rookie QB for 20 years or more.
