I doubt that happens. If it does it will most likely be a smokescreen. JMO

If Ngata had sucked and Whitner was great would anyone consider Whitner a reach? As PTR says it's poor drafting not reaching. JMO

Iranian cleric: Promiscuous women cause quakes

There are women who've made me quake but the earth?! -
What he said. If it's not possible then it's not a reach? How does anyone know if it's possible or not? I disagree. As PTR pointed out if a guy is projected as a 6th rounder by all the pundits I think it's safe to assume he would probably be available at least in the third round. So even if the Pets* had taken Brady in the first round he still would have been a reach IMO. There is no way to know how long a projected first rounder will last. If you trade down and other teams know what you want then another team may trade in front of you to get them. The price to move to #8 might have been too steep for that team. I think it's hard to find a trade partner sometimes even if you offer to trade down for only a 7th. If it was so easy you'd see a lot of trade downs every draft. It seems all the teams don't think it's such a good idea to move back for very little compensation. JMO

High School busted for spying on students
Steely Dan replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Link The motion says Cafiero, who has been placed on paid leave, has failed to turn that computer over to the plaintiffs despite a court order to do so, and asks a judge to sanction her. Cafiero's lawyer Thursday night disputed the suggestion that his client had downloaded any such photos to her home computer. Lawyer Charles Mandracchia said Cafiero has cooperated with federal investigators and is willing to let technicians hired by the district examine her computer if the judge so orders. He also said Robbins' attorney had never asked him for Cafiero's personal computer. "He's making this up because his case is falling apart," Mandracchia said. Nice try, your client is screwed! -
High School busted for spying on students
Steely Dan replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Even worse, the IT staff responsible for implementing and monitoring the student laptops seemingly viewed the whole thing as entertainment. The motion cites e-mails sent between staffers—one says the pictures were "like a little [Lower Merion School District] soap opera." Carol Cafiero, one of the administrators responsible for the program responded "I know. I love it!" Cafiero is one of two staffers who have been placed on administrative leave. The school district has always argued that it only turned on the webcams in the event that a laptop appeared to be lost or stolen, but the Robbins argue that there were numerous cases in which the school spied on students despite knowing exactly who had the laptops—sometimes, students absentmindedly forgot to return their computers on time or failed to pay the $55 insurance fee in a timely manner. The latter was the case for Blake; the school says it initially spied on him because he failed to pay the fee, though there appears to be no explanation as to why the IT staff watched him for at least two full weeks before he ended up getting disciplined for "improper behavior" at home. There might be child porn charges coming out of this, at least I hope so. -
San Jose Sharks Score Game Winning Goal In Overtime!!
Steely Dan replied to bills44's topic in Off the Wall Archives
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uHUghCf3NI Link DENVER(AP) The San Jose Sharks couldn't score on Craig Anderson all night. Moments into overtime, they somehow managed to put the puck past their own goalie. Ryan O'Reilly was credited with a bizarre goal 51 seconds into overtime following an errant pass by defenseman Dan Boyle , giving the Colorado Avalanche a 1-0 victory over San Jose on Sunday night and a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference series. Anderson was simply splendid in net all night, stopping 51 shots. Anderson and San Jose's Evgeni Nabokov were locked in after allowing a combined 11 goals in Game 2 in the Sharks' overtime victory. Nabokov didn't have much a chance on the winner. He was hugging the post when Boyle tried to send the puck around the boards as O'Reilly pursued him. The puck wound up sneaking in between Nabokov and the post. ''We didn't beat their goalie,'' Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. ''We found a way to beat ours.'' Brothers who have played in the NFL

Go back through the thread and read why I left them off. -
H2o I love the trade with Philly. I'd give that a 40% chance of happening if Berry falls to them. Philly and Buffalo have traded before recently and It would be good for both teams.

Sterling's career ending injury made me keep them off the list. -
Lindy's gives the tackle class this year an A TSN Rates it an A This is a deep Tackle draft. I agree with you on Saffold and somebody linked an article to an interview with a scout that said Saffold can flat out play. Their arm lengths are nearly identical though. Bulaga 33.25 Saffold 33.62

What are your surprise draft predictions?
Steely Dan replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope they don't try to make him a kicker and draft Lucy as his holder. -
Peyton and Eli are probably the best brothers to ever play in the NFL, IMO. Ronde and Tiki were good players also. It seems though that usually when one brother is great the other usually sucks. http://www.profootballhof.com/assets/histo...ril_22_2009.pdf For example these guys seem to have a large disparity; Mark Bavaro's brother David . He was actually on the Bills roster during one season. (1991) Aaron Schobel's brother Matt Schobel is a TE who's not with any team right now. Not a brother but a cousin of his Bo Schobel isn't anything close to what Aaron is. Jeff Bostic and Joe Bostic Terry Bradshaw and Craig Bradshaw Ruben Brown's brother Cornell Tony Eason and Bo Eason Pete Gogolak and Charlie Gogolak Bob Golic and Mike Golic Matt Hasselbeck and Tim Hasselbeck Alex, Lou and Ted Karras Larry Little and David Little Bruce Matthews and Clay Matthews Randy Moss and Eric Moss (Half brothers) Merlin Olsen, Orrin Olsen and Phil Olsen Scott Radecic and Keith Radecic Carson Palmer and Jordan Palmer Walter Payton and Eddie Payton Darren Sharper and Jamie Sharper Darryl Talley and John Talley Mike Vick and Marcus Vick Gene and Marvin Upshaw Some brothers I didn't know about; Ryan and John Denney. Ted and Bill Cotrell Carwell and Donnie Gardner Ronnie, Derek and Kevin Harmon Mike and Trey Junkin Rob and Louis Riddick In this draft John Jerry OT is Peria Jerry's brother. Which one will end up being the sucky player? Maybe both.

Steely Dan replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it will be Bruce Campbell selected by Oakland at #8. He is extremely athletic and had the best combine numbers which seems to be all Al Davis cares about. If that doesn't happen something equally as stupid will be done by Al. -

What he said! I've brought this up before and I'll say it again. (I'm not excusing BR BTW) A part of society has a lot of blame for these types of things. Outstanding athletes get a pass early in life that none of us would get. If the best player on a team rapes a girl, at any level, I'm sure in a lot of situations she's pressured to let it go because if Big Man on Campus doesn't play next week it'll look bad for the program and they might lose too. The stuff we read about players being caught doing isn't even the tip of the iceberg IMO. I've heard some law enforcement people say that before someone is caught they usually have gotten away with it six times before, on average. I'd be willing to bet the number is a lot higher with star athletes. -
Players for the everyday fan to get excited about
Steely Dan replied to WordByrd's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You left off Spiller and getting people going isn't always good. People would get going about Tebow, Bryant and Cody but a lot of it would be negative, IMO. I'd imagine if it comes down to two guys very closely rated and both are needs the guy who will sell the most tickets would be a consideration. Other than that I doubt it. Tebow needs to go to a team like the Pets* or the Colts who have solid starting QB's that will probably be close to retiring or be retired in 3 years. It will give him time to develop without a lot of pressure from fans to start him. JMO -
He's played above 280 before and would only need to gain 14 pounds to reach that. Nawrocki has him slated as a DE in a 3-4, like the Bills will use, if he does that. I think he's more than capable of being a 3-4 DE. I've gotta stop posting on crack. At least I have it right in my mock draft.
-
Yeah, I've heard some knocks on him as well. Buddy Nix recently said this; “We’ve got a different opinion about some of the guys that we have. We’ve got a different opinion about how many guys can fill a need in the draft. Quarterback’s the same way. When it comes time, if we think there’s two left tackles in the draft that can come in and make an immediate impact that can play from Day 1, that’s what we expect from a top-10 choice. But we don’t always get what we want. It’s like Christmas time. You don’t always get what you’re looking for.” It's said as a hypothetical but has undertones, to me, of really believing there are only two tackles worth starting from day 1. I don't think Bulaga is one of them.

It does in a court of law. If you're on a jury and a guy (any guy) is on trial for rape and the girl can't remember if she was raped just a little while after the alleged attack and the hospital couldn't find any evidence of rape and she was extremely intoxicated how would you vote? I'd have to give the guy a pass. Even after hearing everything else involved in this case. It's possible he came on really strong and she said no and he stopped short of raping her. Is he admirable? No. Is he a guy I'd like to pal around with? No. Is he guilty of rape beyond a reasonable doubt? No. Accusing someone of rape is a very serious accusation. Unfortunately, a lot of women have said they were raped when they weren't for a variety of reasons. So somebody has to take a very close look at the facts. If she wasn't drunk I'd never have brought that up but she was so drunk she couldn't even remember if she was raped at all. That's why I said she might not remember saying yes. She obviously couldn't remember something that the vast majority of women would find unforgettable just an hour or so after it happened. JMO This girl isn't the innocent little wallflower a lot of you seem to think she is. She did nothing that excuses a rape but she also used very little common sense and kept showing up at clubs he was at. If he made her so uncomfortable then she should have gone elsewhere or stayed where she was originally or moved to a different part of the club. -
You have that avatar to dream about and yet you dream of Dan Morgan?! I haven't had a dream just a gut feeling that Morgan is the guy. Probably because I haven't heard them talk about him. The defense HAS to be able to stop the run this year and Morgan is a better DE against the run than a pass rusher. If the Bills can stop the run then they make the other team throw into their backfield and I like that idea a lot. Also, making them throw gives Maybin a shot to bring 'em down.
