  1. You are in fact still alive.
  2. Nuh-Uh it was Hooterville too! Plot summary for "Green Acres" (1965) Manhattan lawyer Douglas drags his protesting socialite wife and her finery to the rural backwash of a rundown farm outside Hooterville. They attempt to get the farm fixed up. Farmer Fred Ziffel's pig Arnold watches TV and is in many ways smarter than the Hootervillians. Written by Ed Stephan {stephan@cc.wwu.edu} Oliver Wendell Douglas, a Manhattan attorney who has long desired to become a farmer, buys a rundown farm sight unseen from con man Eustice Haney. Upon his return to New York he packs up his things and drags his socialite Hungarian wife Lisa to Hooterville. There, along with his hired hand Eb he tries to build the farm into a useful venture. In the meantime, Lisa becomes acclamated to her surroundings and attempts to bring some form of civility to the backwoods neighbors and even strikes up a friendship with Arnold, the pet pig of Fred Ziffel, who treats Arnold like a son. Written by Brian Washington {Sargebri@earthlink.net} In what boils down to The Beverly Hillbillies in reverse, Oliver Douglas dreams of a life of fresh air, sunshine and chores down on the farm. His wife Lisa however doesn't want it because she is too comfortable in glow of Manhatten. Ironically, when they get to the country it's Lisa who has a better time adapting to the craziness of the locals. Written by Jerry Roberts Where is Pixley in that description? Huh-huh-huh! It isn't!! 3. Add me to the curious bunch.
  4. Thanks, that I knew. The question Dibs and I had was whether or not a signing bonus could be spread any way the team wanted to or if it had to be spread evenly over the life of the contract. Dibs' interpretation was correct. They have to be spread evenly over the life of the contract. Where were you when Dibs' and I started this argument. You're right and that's what I was thinking of. Thanks, I should have realized the way around the signing bonus was to call it a roster bonus. I could have used you a few months ago. He might have but that may have been before the current CBA.
  5. Both Green Acres and Petticoat Junction took place in Hooterville.
  6. Link to our previous conversation. For some reason it won't let me post again in that thread. What Chris Brown wrote back to me. Signing bonuses are amortized evenly over the life of the contract.
  7. Here ya go youngins Apart from the one swipe at Buffalo the article is pretty funny, IMO.
  8. Do you need a lesson on how to multi-quote posts? As soon as I saw your post I immediately thought of that far side.
  9. Tim, could you please tell us if there is any truth to the rumors about Peters being on the trade block? Thanks
  10. What's wrong with a beer opener. Not as nice as the one linked before but beer is beer.
  11. How do you know when sour cream goes bad? How do you cheer up blue cheese?
  12. I keep it going just for the general irritation people find with it.
  13. F.U. You'll love this then. Did Avril Lavigne get breast implants?
  14. Oh yeah, I slept with your wife!! Dime Store Tampons? My thought for the day. Seriously, how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
  15. How do you know 2008 wasn't just a bad year and that he won't bounce back? I can name plenty of players that have a down year and then come back.
  16. dev likes to smell a dogs butt every Thursday at 5:02 pm
  17. The 21st and 28th picks. I don't want to see him traded but the scuttlebut is that Bell is doing really well. I believe Williams said that. If Bell can move in smoothly to JP's spot, which I highly doubt, then I would trade Peters for Phillys two first rounders this year and a third this year and a third next year. Anything less and I'd keep him. As someone above said an inquiry is not a likely trade.
  18. Add Stroud to that list too.
  19. Parcells is a master psychologist. He knows exactly what buttons to push to get the most out of a player. One example was given by a former player of his. When this happened he was an old veteran. At training camp Parcells told him that if he wanted he could take a few plays of practice off. The player looked at him and Parcells told him really. That player said he's never worked as hard that season than he ever did before. That was the button to punch on that player. Other players have a different way to be motivated.
  20. 'Nuff said. Vegas odds on that happening 1 billion to 1. JMO
  21. Figures don't lie but liars can figure. I think if they did that they'd have to open their books publicly and that puts the kaibash on that. I didn't think about that when I first posted it. Let it go.
