Florida Boat Accident Survivor: 2 NFL Players Gave Up Hope

A life raft would be ok but it doesn't have room for fresh water and food. Also by staying with the boat they would be with the transponder. -
Linky A technique thought to be a promising cancer treatment is also being investigated as the basis for a Taser-like weapon that stuns for longer, New Scientist has learned. The technology involves short, nanosecond-long pulses of extreme voltage. Microsecond pulses have been used for years to punch temporary holes in cell membranes, to shove genes or drugs into cells. But the nanosecond pulses have similar effects on individual organelles inside a cell, such as the nucleus. For reasons as yet unknown, this can cause a cell to destroy itself in a process known as apoptosis, something being investigated as a cancer treatment. But the nanosecond pulses are also being researched as a way to temporarily disable human muscles.

All time biggest draft or free agent busts

I was praying the Bills would trade up to get him. Good thing my prayers went unanswered. -

I thought Anna Nicole was a bigger bust. I would have said Dolly Parton but her career has been respectable. -

The Falcon's also gave up some draft picks to get him IIRC. Marinovich rode steroids to millions of dollars. Heath Schuler and he's a congressman now. I remember Mel Kiper got on them about the Emtman pick and the Dolts didn't like that much. -
I sincerely hope they are capable of pulling off a trade back this year. The extra picks would be great. I also hope they sign a better than average LG before the draft so it's not a major need.

Marshawn had red flags before the draft and his color has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't have wanted Buffalo to take Sebastian Janikowski either. I think you are the person making racial remarks to even think that. -

IIRC, that happened before he was signed by the Bills so In my opinion he deserves a pass on that one. -

You really have a bug up your but for me. If you'll notice it says "I was, and so were a lot of people here". You completely left off that part, I wonder why? I guess that just makes me more odious. I do know that I am odious at times. For instance, when I'm in the bathroom I'm on the commodeious, when I leave it it's odiousiforous, when I go to a costume party as garfield's buddy then I'm Odieous, when I was a Norse God I was Odinious, when I'm giving a friend kudos then I'm odeious, my wine grapes are oidiumous and finally when I'm in the water and causing whirlpools then I'm eddyious. So now you have even more reasons to think I'm odious and you can keep making those cheap shots that somehow make you feel like a better person and because I wouldn't want to deprive you of the obvious needs you have. So keep 'em coming they're amusing. -

Bad, bad job even trying. -
Police were scrutinizing passengers arriving on the flight late Wednesday from the Chilean capital, Santiago, when they became suspicious of the man. They quickly discovered cocaine hidden in his luggage, in a six-pack of beer and also in the aluminum legs of two stools he was transporting. Oops! I read that as bringing in the beer was illegal too.

I'm glad you got it. The raft would have to be tethered to the boat so it doesn't float away but a great idea. -

The "bottom of the boat" I was talking about is the bottom that becomes exposed upon capsizing. Not the bottom of the boat when it's standing right in the water. I guess I didn't explain it well enough. -

This isn't like an injury unless he purposely injures himself and then what would people say about that? These infractions could have been handled much more intelligently. I believe it's a real possibility he never saw the girl but as soon as he found out he'd hit her he should have started to take care of it. The other one is just extreme stupidity. Hanging out with friends who have blunts in the car whether you're smoking or not is just idiocy. The gun thing, since it was in the trunk is far less of a problem for me. The second part is if Jackson were to get injured then things become a serious problem. The point is that this was completely avoidable with just a tiny bit of common sense. If several people here could have reservations about drafting him then it seems just a little stupid the Bills couldn't see it. To say Marshawn is the only player committed 100% on every play is just wrong for the obvious reason that the Bills don't have 52 players who don't. What good is Marshawn's 100% while suspended. It's 0% and how does that help the team? Steve Tasker is a great example of a player committed 100% to every play and the best ever at his position while maintaining high character. It seems some people here think those are mutually exclusive traits. -

It seems weird to hear about big tough NFL players just giving up but that just goes to show how important it is plan ahead for the elements because they are a lot tougher than we are. I know nothing about boats but it seems that maybe they could put a covered hatch on the bottom of the boat that opened to a sort of padded bed that has a heater for the padding and several gallons of fresh water that can be sucked out through a straw and a little closed cabinet with some food stored away. They would have one on each side of the boat to balance it out for two people and if only one person is on board there is a way to move some ballast over to even out the floating. It could even have a folded umbrella to keep the sun out. This would be an extremely expensive option but for those who could afford it they would be smart to include it. If that's even viable. Just a thought. -

Two birds with one stone. Well played. BuffaloBill flies to Florida and stalks Tuna until he can get a kiss, or he hopes more. -
I've always been a proponent of onfield and off field character for players drafted and brought in by FA. I was, and so were a lot of people here, against the Bills choosing Marshawn but after they did I trusted their ability to vet players. Well, they can't do that very well. Some people here think character doesn't matter as long as they are great players. Well, it looks like Marshawn is going to miss the first two games or maybe even four. What good is he to the Bills sitting at home watching the game and not being able to go anywhere near the stadium until the suspensions over? Another infraction and he's risking a one year suspension and then the Bills will have to use a high draft pick or sign another RB anyway. Character does matter. They don't have to be choir boys but they do have to have enough common sense to keep from hurting the team. So far James Hardy hasn't done anything stupid and hopefully Marshawn's problems are serving as a lesson to him. I'm trusting that in the upcoming draft Buffalo will put a little more emphasis on taking players that aren't going to be missing games due to stupidity. JMO
