  1. MAJBOBBY jumped the gun. It won't be until next week when Balt plays Indy that the common opponents tie breaker kicks in. Regardless of what happens with Tenn today, the Bills stay the 6. But that will all change next week.
  2. Of the 2 safeties we signed, he wasn't the one I was expecting to be this good this early. He has far exceeded my expectations so far.
  3. how do you justify giving up a pick for a guy who's already on his 5th team in like 3 years?
  4. all those holes and barely any cap room to fill them. This situation is god awful.
  5. This year he has a cap hit of $8.875m Next year would be 8.95, but 5.25 if they cut him, a 3.7 savings. Of course they could designate him a post June 1 cut and spread that 5.25 over 2 years if they chose. 2019 his cap hit is 9.05. They'd save 6.4 million by cutting him. Right now cap room isn't a problem in 2018. They have a projected 32 million under the cap, using this years number which is bound to rise. Wood comes off the cap next year. Cutting Incognito would save over 6 million. If Alexander is done, he'd save another 3 , while cutting Hughes would save almost another 5. Let us not forget the extra 10 they'd save if they decided to move on from Tyrod. They could easily have 60+ million to spend next offseason. Plenty to keep Sammy if they so chose and get younger and cheaper at alot of positions
  6. That's not how it works. You either get tendered at original round, 2nd round, or 1st round with escalating salaries to go with them.
  7. There is no compensation, but the original teams has the right to offer a roster spot to the PS player if another team signs him. Pretty sure this has happened to the Bills on both ends before. I recall them signing a PS guy from another team who ended up getting called up on his original squad.
  8. He has 1 TD in his entire career. Guys done pretty well for himself.
  9. Technically, he wasn't signed from the PS. They snagged him on waivers before he even made it there. Rex thought they could "sneak" him on, but Pitt picked him up. If he was on the PS, Buffalo would have had right of first refusal to offer a roster spot to keep him.
  10. I'm not attacking you, but Cosell says 100% the opposite A lot of the questions I have about Watson come from his play in the pocket. He’s not a comfortable pocket quarterback, and playing from the pocket has to be the foundation for any NFL quarterback. He’s not as good from the pocket as Trubisky. My sense is Watson doesn’t see the field well. There are issues with his vision in the pocket and understanding and feel for route concepts. And for a quarterback who isn’t a turn-it-loose thrower and a risk taker, like Jameis Winston for example, Watson had too many bad reads and poor throws last season. He exhibited poor judgment too many times. There are other things NFL teams will have to evaluate with Watson: He can be erratic at times with ball placement, and his deep accuracy was definitely a concern last season. He is not a refined pocket mover; there’s too much of a tendency to look to leave the pocket. He also has a little bit of a hitch in his delivery, with a tendency to separate his feet rather than plant his back foot as he starts his throwing motion, which changes his eye level, negatively impacts vision and also impacts his ability to drive the ball.
  11. thanks for adding that, obviously it wasn't in the link I provided from the original story. Not shocking that the Pats would be trying to maximize their return, it's in their nature.
  12. Thats odd, seeing that most thought Kizer had a big arm, but that his accuracy and footwork were awful
  13. The Patriots offered their No. 32 overall pick in this year's NFL draft to the Saints for receiver Brandin Cooks, This was literally the 1st line of the article. I suppose it would be part of a package, but that wasn't indicated.
  14. Like I said, read them both, back to back and tell me that they don't sound like basically the same player http://sports.yahoo.com/news/greg-cosells-nfl-draft-breakdown-accomplished-deshaun-watson-has-areas-to-work-on-164552341.html
  15. I agree 100% with his assessment. Read this and then read his assessment of Watson and tell me that TT isn't Watson's ceiling.
  16. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18827047/new-england-patriots-interested-dealing-new-orleans-saints-receiver-brandin-cooks The Patriots offered their No. 32 overall pick in this year's NFL draft to the Saints for receiver Brandin Cooks, but New Orleans rejected the proposal with the hope of landing a better pick from another team, NOLA.com reported Saturday, citing multiple sources. According to the report, the Patriots' proposal also included New Orleans sending a later-round pick back to New England. ESPN's Chris Mortensen first reported that Cooks has been the subject of trade talks this week at the NFL scouting combine, with the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles among his suitors. NOLA.com said that at least five teams have made overtures toward the dynamic 23-year-old receiver, who is coming off back-to-back 1,100-yard seasons. The Patriots know New Orleans' personnel well, having joined it for joint practices in each of the past two training camps. Bill Belichick said of Cooks last year, "I'm glad we don't have to play him twice a year and he's not in our division. He's a really good player." Saints coach Sean Payton and general manager Mickey Loomis both told the team's website last week that they value Cooks, and it would take a lot to pry him away, but neither denied the reports that he has been the subject of trade talks. Both described it as normal for such discussions to take place at the combine. "I've said this before: Brandin is someone we value tremendously in our system. He's been extremely productive. He's everything we were wanting when we drafted him," Payton said. "Now, that being said, these news items come up, and there are a lot of meetings that take place here. I wouldn't say he's on the trade block. But certainly when a team calls, a team that's looking for a receiver, and we're looking to improve our defense, we're always listening." The Saints traded up to draft Cooks with the 20th pick of the 2014 draft. He has emerged as one of the NFL's most dynamic playmakers, with a total of 17 touchdown catches the past two seasons and two of the four longest receptions in the NFL last season (98 yards and 87 yards). However, the Saints are deep at the receiver position, thanks to the emergence of 2016 breakout rookie Michael Thomas. They have much more glaring needs on defense. The Saints have shown an ability to maintain one of the NFL's top offenses after moving on from top playmakers, including tight end Jimmy Graham, who was dealt to Seattle in a blockbuster two years ago. Although Payton shot down reports of a possible Cooks trade in recent months, the idea started to gain momentum last year, when Cooks expressed his frustration with his role in New Orleans' offense after he had zero targets in a 49-21 rout of the Los Angeles Rams, including the memorable line, "Closed mouths don't get fed." Cooks was frustrated when he felt he was being used too often as a clear-out receiver. However, Cooks insisted that his passion came from wanting to be great and to help the team, and there didn't seem to be a lingering issue between the team and player after that. Payton blamed Cooks' former agent for stirring things up. The Saints' willingness to trade Cooks likely would be about their needs at other positions, the high value they could get in return for him and the fact that his price tag will escalate soon. Cooks is heading into the final year of his rookie contract at the bargain rate of $1.56 million. But that deal includes a fifth-year option, which will likely cost around $8.5 million for 2018. Cooks' next contract extension after that will likely cost more than $10 million per year, an investment the Saints might not have been willing to make in both Cooks and Thomas.
  17. I tweeted both Chris Brown and the new PR guy asking about the shutdown. Obviously neither responded directly, but Brown posted his deal shortly after.
