  1. No! for two reasons 1. safety is not a premier position and 2. Whitner is not a premier safety - the only safeties worth anything like a 1st is the rare freak who is a combination LB, and CB and a guy like that really transcends the position - As for not drafting Ngata yes that was stupid and as I said the day we drafted Whitner instead of Ngata "not only was that a bad decision but every year it will seem like a worse decision than the year before" Ngata will continue to get better and truthfully he's really is not in his best position, if he was a DT in a 4-3 he'd make the probowl every year.
  2. your right nothing is guarantee just because your a billionaire doesn't mean you'll get the girl and just because your parachute fails doesn't mean you'll die but I know which way I'd bet.
  3. Has McCargo gotten any playing time this year? is he injured? or is he so far in the dog house he's never getting out? I thought he was starting to come on a little bit last year but he has been a complete ghost this year, I know he failed a physical with a bulging disk when they tried to trade him- the Bills do some messed up things, Crowell for example, the surgery would have him out 1-4 weeks but they immediately put him on IR, not to help the team just cause they were pi$$ed - Schobel can't play and he hangs around for 8 games and is finally put on IR.
  4. If you don't know me by now- everybody sing!!
  5. the Eagles have the Panthers number one now- also Detroit has Dallas number one
  6. He a consensus end of the first round beginning of the second round talent- in the 12 spot which is where we will pick he is a reach- now if the Bills plan to move down about 15 spots then he makes better sense.
  7. Nothing wrong with Jauron that a little Meth and testosterone on game day wouldn't cure.
  8. The Poz is only 9 tackles and two sacks away from tying John DiGiorgio's 2007 season he's already has tied his interceptions and pass defenses with 1 and 6 respectively - and get this he's already ahead in Forced fumbles with 1.
  9. There's a time proven way for smaller market teams to compete- basically it's building the team through the draft until you're at .500 or a little better then using FA or trades to try to get over the hump- you take a kick at the can for a couple years - then you blow it up and start again- you are not going to be playoff contenders every year but your going to be playoff contenders a couple times a decade.
  10. I was rethinking the Tampa 2 before they installed it
  11. see my sign
  12. All I know is all the draft guides said he wasn't gonna be NFL ready for a couple seasons.
  13. Walker would be better if he lost 40lbs and Peters could lose 20lbs- I really don't know why these guys feel the need to be 350+ the biggest DE they are gonna face is probably 270-280- if anything it's guards and centers who should want to be heavier some of the DTs are 340-350.
  14. DE's and WRs seldom back a big splash in their first or even second year- if you want someone to dominate right away your best shot is at RB or LB
  15. At one time I would have said yes But to me he hasn't looked since he was injured- and he hasn't given Dallas anything close to a value of a 1st, 3rd, and 5th
  16. My question is why are some Bills fans so ignorant - if you thought Hardy was going to be anything this year you really didn't do your homework- every report said he was physically and mentally immature - and that while he might have the most upside of the WRs coming out , that he was one of the least prepared to help a team in his first season- among other things he had to get stronger, learn how to get off the line, learn how to run routes, and have better concentration- On the other hand Steve Johnson while not having burning speed or huge size- was noted for having a pro body, very good hands, run good routes, and a good blocker- will Hardy every be a star- who knows? Plaxico Burress comparisons are made but at this point he is neither as strong or as fast- is he dedicated enough and smart enough to get there?
  17. You can make it known that you are willing to listen to offers but you're not going to trade the guy for a bunch of crap- two teams who make the most sense for trade partners are Detroit and Philly- Detroit would like to use their first pick for a QB but they really need a LT too and the first tier guys will like likely be gone before they get to the Dallas pick- Philly is losing two OTs to free agency and age- they have two first round picks, theirs and the Panthers - I figure Detroit would have to offer the Dallas 1st, their 2nd and a 3rd - Philly would have to offer both their 1sts- the other part of the equation is what they think of Bell who looked very good in preseason but hasn't seen the field since- I think that Bell mirrors very well and can get beyond the line of scrimmage when run blocking but he comes in very raw and lacking pro strength and size - is he going to put on the 15-20lbs of muscle he needs not to get bull rushed? If you think Bell can come in and play the position at the very least at an average level then a Peters trade makes more sense- if you think Bell is going to get Edwards killed then you can't do it.
  18. FA- Chris Kemoeatu G, Jason Brown C, Khalif Barnes OT, Chris Canty DE, Colin Cole DT trades Jason Peters to Philadelphia for their 1st and the Panthers 1st - Schobel to SF for Vernon Davis Draft 1a Rey Maualuga ILB 1b Clint Sintim OLB 1c Terrence Cody NT 2 Herman Johnson G 3 Clay Matthews OLB 4. Pannel Egboh DE 5 Ron Brace NT Bills go to a 3-4 defense with Stroud and Canty as ends and Cole as NT LBs Mitchell, POZ, Maualuga, Sintim, Players gone, Kelsay, Dockery, McCargo, Fowler -player to retain Chambers, Preston Starters now backups- Butler, Williams, Denny new OL- LT Barnes, LG Kemoeatu C Jason Brown RG Herman Johnson RT Walker - Backups Bell Butler Preston Chambers
  19. I'm not upset that the Bills won but this seems like the second or third time recently that they started playing better after they were eliminated from the playoffs, you wonder if pressure gets to them.
  20. why not let Bell play - my question exactly- seems to me that the Bills make 2 or 3 stupid choices every week.
  21. yes it is wrong at the very least you'd want him to do well to increase his trade value
  22. the good thing about a guy like this is he's very strong and works hard- the flip side is he's pretty much as big and strong as he's gonna get- if I was looking for a DE , I'd want a player who's very quick, has a big frame and long arms, a guy who's willing to work but hasn't done too much weight training because of a small school program or academics.
  23. I like Peters but in the abstract I would trade anybody if I thought the trade would benefit the team. the evaluation would be how much do I think Jason Peters helps the team, what am I being offered, and what I think I have or can get to fill Peters position. If you think Peters is overrated, that you are being offered a lot, and that someone like Bell is going to be a star, or that you can find a good left tackle in free agency, then you trade Peters. of course the concrete problem is that I don't think the Bills are very good at evaluating talent, either college or pro or even their own players- how many times has a better player only gotten to play because injury forced the Bills hand
  24. the next Bruce Smith or the next Vernon Gholston or the next Alonzo Spellman, who knows
  25. 1. Jason Peters is the Bills most talented player at a position that is either 2nd or 3rd most important position. 2. That being said I watched Bell play in the Preseason and he has some very nice qualities- but you would need to get a lot in return to even think about it- say you made a deal with San Fran - at the least you'd want a 1st round, 3rd round, and Vernon Davis, this year and a 2nd and 5th next year.
