"Furthermore, you need to grow a QB who isn't beholdant unto the OC all the time. How many time have we watched the BIlls have a close play only to dawdle, give the opposition time to look at it and challenge successfully. I watch Roethlisberger get everyone up to the line, call a play, run it, and gain yards before TV could sho a replay after whatw as probably a drop. You have to build that into a player. if you make everythign "check with me" you create children who require instruction, not men who can take actions. That, in a nutshell, is our biggest problem." very good point

At this point J.P. may not be good enough to me a starter and not have the mental makeup to be a good backup- he needs a lot of reps- his best chance would be if a team loss their starter early in the preseason and he could get a starting position- the J.P. of 2006 was an average QB but he has regressed since then- but you are damn right that the Bills don't do much to help a QB out- been this way since Bledsoe if Kelly had these sad sacks around him he would of gone ballistic "get me someone who can get open and catch the damn ball" " and I mean right f**king now"!!!!

I disengaged emotionally from the team during the off season when I saw they were not going to fix many glaring holes even though they had a ton of space under the cap- I will admit I wondered if I F-up when the Bills were 4-0 and then 5-1 but I stuck to my guns- a quick evaluation OL : Butler, Fowler, Preston are all below average, Dockery is overpaid for what he brings- DL Stroud is the only one with any talent,- Williams, Kelsey, Denny all hustle but have below average talent- Schobel is undersized , on the wrong side of thirty, and has a rep of not believing in diet or off-season conditioning . LBs the POZ is neither a knock the snot out of you hitter, a great pass defender, or a run you down from behind with blazing speed guy- he was way over hyped on this board - Ellison is a try hard kid who should not be a starter- DBs the Bills best unit but Whitner doesn't make plays on the ball , Simpson is inconsistent, and they lack a large CB for some match-ups- WRs and TEs Evans and Josh Reed who should be a third WR then a bunch of nothing but I must say I like Steve Johnson a little bit, and maybe Hardy will get his head out of his a$$ and take the steps he needs to improve in the off-season. RB Mr Lynch catch 200 balls a day during the off-season or steal Fred Jackson's hands QB Mr Edwards hit the weights again in the off-season and work with trainers to maintain your strength during the season.

At this time the Bills become the undead not alive but not dead and buried just walking around draining the life out of everyone around them.

Because he doesn't want to pay too much for draft picks

hey I got a center on my list Jason Brown from Baltimore 6,4 320

The Bills are not kind to there QBs - Drew Bledsoe the one thing this guy could do well is go deep- so what do the Bills do, let go of guys who accounted for about 150 receptions brought in even worse pass blocking linemen and told Drew we are now a power running team and you are a dink and dunk QB- J.P. Losman first let a veteran player break his leg and then blame J.P. for being cocky and running around to much- then bring in J.P. when he wasn't physically back 100% and hadn't practiced a lot to take a beating by New England, then next season yank him around like a yo yo - Trent Edwards, coming into the season anyone with half a brain knew cupboard was quite bare when it came to offensive play makers but no moves were made in Free agency - Here's James Hardy hope you can wait three years to see if he's a player or not- Jim Kelly was a tough guy but he would have also called people on all this Horse s#!t he was not afraid of calling out players, coaches, GM's or owners- Fire me as a player F#<k you I fire you as a team.

Julius Peppers, Terrell Suggs, Jason Brown Center from Baltimore, Stacy Andrews G, Gabe Watson DT, Nnamdi Asomugh CB, any and all these players - but what will we get - couple scrubs and a lecture on how you have to build with the draft.
-
Happened to Flutie - defenses figured him out and suddenly he went from awesome to awful - once one defense figures you out, everybody studies that tape- that's when you need a coach who can come up with an an answer, and why it helps to have a balanced offense.
-
J.P. is cursed, even when he isn't playing badly the rest of the team starts sucking, receivers start dropping balls. linemen forget how to block, and if he gets any good play it is wiped out by a stupid penalty - what he needs to do is get a gypsy to remove any voodoo curse he picked up down south.

Not that I'd expect any of these things be done but...... 1. Julian Pepper and Chris Snee in free agency 2. In the first round of the draft I'd look for a play maker at LB, second and third round I'm looking for the best center DT combination I can find. 3. I'd take a hard look at my strength and conditioning coaches 4. Take a hard look at our coaches in general 5. see if we could get Vernon Davis from San Fran- yeah I know the guys an immature jerk but he has talent- his immature jerkyness might make him not that expensive. 6. Hardy needs to do a lot of work both physically and mentally - the Bills have to take a more active hand in the off season with these young players- until they prove they know how to prepare- the Bills have too many players who don't seem to improve in their second and third season- players should make huge improvement both physically and mentally in their second and third season.

A strong arm is important to throw the 15-20 yard out- a weak arm will get you intercepted - the most important thing about a strong arm isn't using it to throw deep all the time but to make the defense cover the whole field .

Trent needs to see a "head" Dr.-fast!

I suffered a concussion in junior year High-school at the time I thought I was ok - I played tennis the same day and barely beat a guy who I had killed the year before- I puked about 4 times- I had no Idea that nausea was caused by concussion- I thought I was fine, but when I looked at that time later I realized I was messed up for at least a couple months- for example I took the S.A.T about a month after the concussion and then in my Senior year and picked up almost 400 points which I don't think was attributable to the 4 or 5 hour I spent with one of those study aids. Of course that was over 30 years ago and I would think the Bills medical staff would be more advanced than "hey you feeling ok buddy". -
Bills and Sabre, If the teams are willing and able to compete I'd want them to stay if not let them go - I never understood Fans of some of those baseball teams who are basically out of the race every year before the season even begins- I don't understand how it is sports if there are teams who have no chance of winning- I don't think the Bills or Sabre are at that point yet but if they get there let them go, you have better things to do with your time and money.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with the Bills but the world as you know it is coming to an end

The Bills are conservative. It's why they lose.

The Bills are conservative. It's why they lose. No that's why they are boooooooring- they lose because they can't run block, can't get to the other teams QB, have no weapons after Evans, and have a very average coaching staff except for Bobby April who's pretty good-In addition injuries have taken their toll on the pass blocking and the return game and Edwards is starting to look like a pretty good 3rd round, second year QB instead of the second coming of Tom Brady. -
Can someone explain Marshawn's troubles?
billybob replied to apulshunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the O-line can't run block- same as it couldn't run block for Henry or McGayhee- -
Ngata has 2 more ints than whitner
billybob replied to billybob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we only play one DT? I'd rather have Ngata and Stroud- I got nothing against Whitner but if the guys are close in level of talent you got to take the good big man over the good little man- or you get a team like we got - no heart- because heart comes from winning at the line of scrimmage. -
How many millions below the salary cap are we???
billybob replied to jwws9999's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree but we draft like @#$% and our coach has made yard-work more interesting than football. -
Just saying.......

Damn.....Wilfork does it again.

maybe that horse can plow -
If a QB gets to the point where he doesn't trust his line, his receivers, or his gameplan- it will mess him up- JP got worst instead of better- the same thing can happen to Edwards- maybe it's happening now
-
O-line can't run block DL can't pressure QB Not enough weapons on Offense Dick Juaron is Blah None of that is new - what is amazing is that the Bills won 4 games in the beginning of the season with those deficits- I'm not worried about the Bills missing the Playoffs, I would be amazed if they made the playoffs- what I'm worried about is destroying Edwards confidence the same way we destroyed JP's - If a QB can't make plays in the system they start to try to go outside the system to make plays and this usually starts a downward spiral- If QBs gets to a point where they don't trust their line, don't trust their receivers, and don't trust their game plan -then you are screwed.
-
I've addressed this since pre-season last year but once again- Fowler isn't very good - Butler and Dockery are too tall and don't get good leverage in the run game- in addition Peters is now giving less than a 100% no more running around pancaking people- which leaves Walker as our best run blocker which is kinda sad- as for the subs I like D Bell but think the rest are somewhere between mediocre and pathetic.
-
That the O-line can't run block- the D can't get pressure on the QB with 4- that the receivers are pretty mediocre after Evans - and that DJ is just OK - those things have been known for a long long time- nothing new- Here's somethings new our 1st round pick does not look good either as a CB or a returner- there were a lot of highly ranked Offensive linemen when we took another DB, Stroud looks like the least of the Stroud, Rodgers, Jenkins moves, Stroud was suppose to make the DEs look better but we are going to need DEs to make Stroud look better, McCargo is an official bust I saw it in Official busts weekly.
