Since when is Schoebel only 243 pounds?
billybob replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Schobel has been listed at 243 for the last three years before that he was listed at 265- he has never been a force against the run so don't judge him on that this year- our best run defender at DE is Denny and he's average. -
Crowell waited cause he thought he'd be cut- this way he gets his last years pay

Give Ellison a chance guys.......

Adam Archuleta, Dallas Sartz, Antwan Applewhite, Darrell Robertson, Rufus Alexander, there are LBs out there just not real good LBs -
What should have happened with Jason Peters is this- in Feb the Bills should have approached Peters and said "wow a probowl nomination that's great- hey look we understand you've outplayed your contract so you get yourself a 100% come in and take a physical and we will make you the highest paid Olineman on the team- and if you make another probowl which we think you will, we will get offer you a contact that will put you in the top 3 Olinemen in the NFL because Jason Even though we already have a contract with you for the next three years we want to show you we value your talent and effort and want you to be a Buffalo Bill for a long time. Peters should have said thank you Mr Wilson sir, I'll do my best to reward your faith in me sir. With Evans I think the problem is that he might have more value on other teams- not that he only has one skill but what he does best is beat DBs deep so his value to a team depends on how often they like to take shots downfield.

4 TDs sounds a little low- how about 4 more TDs than Josh Reed had last year -

OK the real scoop on Jason Peters - first you have to know his interests Attended Queen City High School, earning All-District and All-Area honors as a defensive end…Lone Star Recruiting ranked him the 18th-best prospect in Texas…was on every Top 100 in Texas list…also lettered in basketball, averaging 18.4 points per game to garner All-District and All-Area honors…Vocational Education major, enrolled in the College of Education and Health Professions … restores cars as a hobby … interested in starting his own fashion line. http://www.sanfranciscosentinel.com/?p=7861 and you thought he gained weight -
So what has Matt Murphy done to make the team?

If we make the Playoffs this year I'd give most of the credit to the law of averages since we are tied at 2nd with Detroit for longest playoff drought with only Arizona going longer. -
I'd rate the best run blockers as Walker, Peters, big drop, Dockery, more drop, Butler, even more drop Fowler- Paul Hamilton always says he's confused as to why the Bills line can pass block well but they can't run block- I think it's kinda simple the Bills have two guards built more like tackles 6,6 330 Dockery and 6,7 315 Brad Butler - unless he's much stronger it's gonna be really hard for a 6,7 315 guy to get great leverage on a 6,3 320 guy.
-
No in that case the Bills would inform him he had to take a cut in pay or get cut off the team - just the same as Willie Anderson
-
If he is a good blocker I'd pick him up.
-
My answer is he's a little better than Gandy- Dockery is a pretty good Pass blocker but he is no where near the run blocker I was expecting- In fact I have to admit I was wrong about Dockery and Walker- Dockery is not as good as I expected and Walker is better than I expected.
-
McCargo very quick but is kinda undersized- but this is the part I don't get, he's also rolly polly- Tommy Harris is quick and undersized but he's carved out rock- McCargo is carved out of puddin- he blamed his foot injury for lack of conditioning - but wtf is his excuse now.

Willie Anderson released by Bengals
billybob replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he could and would slide over to RG when Peters comes back then I would. -
I'm not outraged by any of the cuts- kinda disappointing
-
Here's a question- how much better is Dockery than Gandy at LG

Willie Anderson released by Bengals
billybob replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Anderson was a LT I'd make more sense cause then you could move Walker back to RT- he's 33 which isn't too old because OL guys often play at a high level past their mid 30's but he is coming off injuries ( a knee and a foot) and both those injuries can really linger on a big man. If he could and would move to RG I'd take him in a minute. -
Who will get cut when Peters reports?
billybob replied to Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
DE Copeland Bryan and OT Matt Murphy would be my choices - has Bryan done anything? is he good on teams? I've can't remember hearing his name called ever. -
"Of course, Tyler may want to rethink his current position, if he re-reads this column he once wrote for the TH ..." of course people who think it's only the players who look for salary adjustments based on performance might want to talk to Willie Anderson

Also a little know fact is Smithers relationship with Mr Burns was based on Senators relationship with Mr Wilson -

You know what Senator I don't give a Flying !@#$ about Peters either- what I care about is my enjoyment in watching the Buffalo Bills who are my last link to sports in general- the Bills have been both bad and boring for a number of years now- finally this year the Bills looked like a team who could go 10-6 and have a shot to make the playoffs - going without Peters could cost them a game or two - now if I lived in your alternate reality where the Bills are a lock for 19-0, one or two extra losses wouldn't bother me but here in the really real it means 9-7 and on the outside looking in. btw I like your point 4. remember kids don't do anything that would make others dislike you - be a good sheep baaaaa -
Most of Bills nation cheer for Mr Potter when watching "it's a wonderful Life" share Smithers lust for Mr Burns- and thought Scrooge was just a great guy until he went soft in the end.

The overpaying of average players continues- they just balk at paying good players market value
-
yeah thank the gods we have financial stability- do you think the Bills management walk around with their financial stability championship rings to impress the chicks.

But the facts are these: Wilson's contract offers weren't competitive. Despite being one of the most accomplished GM's in the league, and a shrewd judge of personnel, Butler's current salary was about $500,000, putting him in the lower third among his NFL peers. Wilson's last offer was in the range of $1 million, or even a little less than that, a figure he said was the average of the eight highest-paid general managers in the league. With Green Bay's Ron Wolf setting the bar in the league at $2.2 million per year, and Colts GM Bill Polian earning a reported $1.3 million, Butler, 54, was in line for more than $1 million per year. Butler wasn't looking to hold the small-market Bills hostage, but he didn't accept Wilson's contract offers because he didn't believe they were in the ballpark. Butler contends that he didn't see Wilson's axe coming, and takes exception with the perception that he was planning to draw Wilson into a bidding war for his services. Great our owner is a tightwad- and a man of principle, he doesn't let concerns of winning interfere with his tightwadness- I admire that- I won't spend any money or much time watching it but I admire it yes indeedee
