  1. Yeah, but nobody from the Bills came our way. A few stopped and signed for Packers fans for a long time, some for a short amount of time, but nobody came to where the Bills fans were... (except Aussie - but I forgot to ask for her autograph! ). Oh well.. Lee Evans is from Madison, as is some safety we picked up as a free agent (can't remember his name, but I was told he was a walk-on for Madison and played extremely well. Maybe he'll replace Wire?! ). Here's the guy: http://www.buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122616 Not sure if that guy who is signing is Evans; the Packers fans were asking EVERYONE for an autograph -- they even asked the police officer for his autograph Water boy, camera man, it didn't matter. CW
  2. Here's a picture of the bad Bills player I mentioned in my recap of the scrimmage: http://www.thevfl.com/bad-bill.jpg There were three Bills fans standing to the right of the area he came out of. Instead of coming to sign anything for us, he decides to sign all the Packer fans stuff. Not I didn't even have a marker for him to sign, so I don't care too much, but the other two Bills fans who were with me (I didn't know 'em, we just congragated together) were upset. Don't they know what colors they play for?!?! Anyone know who that player is? (here's the rest of my recap for those who havn't seen it; it talks about more than just JPL, although that's what the thread has turned into...) http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=27658 Here's a link to all of the photos from the Bills/Packers scrimmage: http://www.fezam.com/gallery/view_album.ph...FamFun05&page=1 None are really that exciting; lots of action was on the other side of the field, and I don't have a good zoom on my camera. When the action was on my side, I was too busy watching it to remember to take pictures. D'oh... The pictures of the Native Americans were of them doing the "Snake Dance" Most didn't turn out well, but they were demonstrating the dance of how to get to the afterlife or something like that. Might've looked cool if I weren't so low on the field. The next set of pictures is from the Mascot games. Yes, I got to see the Michelon Man, the Arby Oven Mitt, a bottle of beer, a giant pickle, and a pig compete by kicking, punting, and throwing a football. Yes, it was as lame as it sounds. (BTW, the Pig won -- and guess what? The Pig was sponsoring the event as well. Go figure). After that there's pictures of the crowd, pictures on the field, etc. There's even a picture of a jumbo jet that flew over the stadium -- unfortunately, I snapped it too late so it didn't turn out that well: http://www.fezam.com/gallery/view_photo.ph...n05&id=DSC04043 Overall, a fun night. Enjoy! CW
  3. Where have I posted that I don't like JP and don't want him to do well? It's ironic, actually, because all of this JP praise I'm reading it similar to what I was posting last year. Bledsoe throws the ball low or high so that knly the receiver can catch it and people say, "Moulds doesn't have hands on his knees to be able to catch that ball!" JPL does it, and some here are posting, "That was a great decision! He threw it where only the receiver could catch it!" After a game, people would say, "Yeah, we won, but Drew almost threw an interception!" but after the scrimmage, the same people are saying, "It wasn't an interception, so don't worry about it!" Oh, and he was sacked at least once during the scrimmage, but people are saying that doesn't count because JPL could've escaped it. Also keep in mind that JPL has never conducted a TD drive yet. I thought winning and scoring TDs were the only thing that mattered for a QB (based on posts last year). CW
  4. Right, but according to PTR, everyone who doesn't think he was great is stupid and didn't really watch the scrimmage. That's pretty much what I said -- he was below average Friday night, but we're not even at the first preseason game. CW
  5. Scared of what? Scared that we'll suck this year, that's what. And I wasn't being swayed by any analysts. I was at the game and watched firsthand. CW
  6. JPL didn't play particularly well yesterday. However, to say Holcombe should start is pretty ridiculous, considering he played against 2nd and 3rd stringers while JPL started against the 1st string defense. CW
  7. Let's see then... Analysts are saying he looked bad. Packers fans are saying he looked bad. Jets fans are saying he looked bad. Some Bills fans are saying he looked bad. But all of those people are wrong, and only the Bills fans that say he looked great are correct. Rose colored glasses, perhaps? Again, we havn't even played a preseason game so there's LOTS of room for improvement. But if we were starting the season tomorrow, with JPL under center, I'd be scared. CW
  8. Hmm, do I want to be home, or do I want to be sitting outside seeing this: http://www.fezam.com/gallery/view_photo.ph...=lake_house_106 Tough choice CW
  9. I'll have some pics from the scrimmage posted later, probably Sunday or Monday (once I get back home). Not sure how any of them turned out though, as I havn't had a chance to look at them yet. CW
  10. Sorry I bothered to give my impressions from the game. Apparantly if you don't kneel down before JPL, you don't know what you're talking about. I apologize for my ignorance. CW
  11. Tickets aren't quite that hard to get ahold of. Season tickets, yeah, but if you want to go to a game or two, it's not too bad. Pretty much everyone knows someone with season tickets that will sell 'em (that's how I got tickets to the Bills/Packers game a couple years back). CW
  12. Nope, mine's a regular home jersey. I was wearing a Bills hat -- one with the new secondary logo. There goes my chance for 15 minutes of fame CW
  13. I'm not saying it wasn't SUPPOSED to be a penalty -- but the refs didn't call it so it wasn't a penalty. There's tons of plays that are supposed to be penalties but aren't called because the refs miss it. CW
  14. It wasn't PI -- the refs were throwing flags, so if this were a real game, there would've been no flag (I don't know which one you're talking about though.) He also made more than one bad decision. He threw the ball to a receiver who was already out of the endzone. He threw the ball about 5 yards short of his receiver two or three times. Keep in mind that he has yet to lead a TD drive as well.. I realize that it's only the first scrimmage - not even a real preseason game -- and that he will hopefully get better. On the other hand, if we have to go into the season and he's still playing like he did yesterday, we're in for a long season... CW
  15. Anyone else catch the player on the Packers named Andre Thurman? (actual spelling is Andrae). Talk about a name that brings back memories for Bills fans. I wonder if his middle name is Jim or Bruce? Andre Jim Thurman? http://www.packers.com/team/players/thurman_andrae/ CW
  16. It looked like it was Lindell who had the crappy kickoff, but I'm not 100% sure. The onside kickoffs were kinda lame -- they were no contact! Isn't half the point of an onside kick the guys smashing together trying to get the ball? If there's no contact, the chances for recovering the kick go WAY down. CW
  17. Tickets were $8/seat and it was dubbed as "family fun night." They have one every year, although this is the first time a different team came. One of the big draws is apparantly the "shirt off their back" drawing at the end of the scrimmage. There's also tons of giveaways during the game -- balls, jerseys, gift certificates, etc, not to mention the fireworks. It's a lot of fun, and I bet the Bills actually WOULD sellout, especially if they hosted a different team. They sell a lot of tickets to the night practices, no? CW
  18. I figured as much I'm a relatively big guy (6'1", 250) and I WAS wearing a Spikes jersey... No goatee though, so it probably wasn't me. CW
  19. We never attempted any kicks (FG or PAT). Not sure why. The guy on the PA system said that the Packers would get to practice some kicks at the end, and then we would as well. I'm guessing that because of how late it was getting, they skipped our kicks. CW
  20. No, that headline is pretty funny. CW
  21. Not at all. Maybe things looked different on TV (although my b-i-l was watching on TV), but at the stadium JPL didn't look very good... He was better than when he played the Patriots, but aside from that... CW
  22. "Typhoon hits China, killing at least 1" http://www.cnn.com Oh my god, not "at least 1!" Wouldn't a better headline be, "Typhoon hits China as millions flee?" Oh well. CW
  23. I think you guys are delusional about JPLs performance yesterday. He again failed to score a TD (he's never led a team on a TD drive I don't think....). His passes were all over the place. I just wasn't impressed. I'll admit we're not even on the first preseason game yet so there's plenty of time for improvement... But comparing him to JK? I think RJ looked better in some games than JPL did yesterday. When I got back from the scrimmage, my Packers-fan brother-in-law said, "If Losman doesn't improve, you guys are screwed." Nuff said. CW
