  1. Yup. And even after review, they still gave Oakland the INT. I don't get it, and if anyone can explain it, I'm all ears.
  2. You forgot to mention that if a receiver has the ball, and the defensive player grabs it while the offensive player is on the ground, being hit by the defensive player, that the defensive player gets the INT.
  3. Weren't two out of three of these teams in the playoffs last year?
  4. This rule is the same as high school now (and I believe college). If you elect to receive, then the other team receives in the 2nd half. If you elect to kickoff, then the other team gets the ball in BOTH halves (because they make the choice in the 2nd half). If you elect to defer, then you get to elect to receive/kickoff in the 2nd half instead.
  5. Jason Nesmith. Galaxy Quest.
  6. Were you watching the same game as I was....? Evans had the catch and they ruled it an INT? Evans got called for PI when he just slaped the hand check away? There was at least one blatantly missed holding call on Oakland. I wouldn't call the refs on our side in the least...
  7. Can't help you in the Buffalo area. That said, my wife and I will never move ourselves again. It's just not worth it, especially since when you ask friends to help you move, then you have to help THEM move too -- Yuck, I HATE moving stuff. We hired Mohawk moving about 6 years ago. We moved from one suburb to another (about 20-25 miles apart), from a ~900 square foot two bedroom apartment into a house. Three guys came in, disassembled the bed, futon, desk, etc, loaded the truck, and then unloaded everything into the housel, reassembled bed, futon, etc, and it only cost us about $800. I gave them a $200 tip, so the bill came to about $1000 (they considered our move to be an "easy weekend job.). They started around 8am and were done by 1pm. Money well spent.
  8. Reminded me a lot of the Cowboys game from last year, only we are now the Cowboys. This team seems like it has something special about it...
  9. Never give up! Never surrender!
  10. Didn't expect to see you here. Thanks. I didn't watch the Fins/Pats game - what the hell happened?!?!?! Are the Phins a good team? Or are the Pats falling flat? Or was it both?
  11. You promised everyone in the chat room $50. Since I know you're reading this, PAY UP! Paypal to whit0421@yahoo.com. NOW.
  12. I don't think anyone's saying the guy couldn't touch the intruder. But beat with a metal pipe is a bit much. BTW - how many rapists actually get completely nude? My guess -- none, since rape is a crime of control and not of sexual pleasure.
  13. Generally when you swing a metal pipe at someone, it's to hurt them. Just ask Bryant McKinney.
  14. Want to ditch TWC, but don't want DirecTV? Here ya go: http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/09/15/veriz...new-york-debut/
  15. Right - but when in doubt, you're supposed to let the play run - ESPECIALLY if you have replay.
  16. I've done high school football officiating, and that's the rule they teach you from day one - don't make the call unless you're 100% certain.
  17. MJD had 9 rushes for 17 yards... With a long of 9. That's not domination by any stretch of the imagination PtR.
  18. Umm.... Did you look at how we completely shutdown their running game for the most part? Fred Taylor: 14 rushes, 49 yards, 13 long Maurice Jones-Drew: 7 rushes, 17 yards, 9 long (or 6 rushes for 8 yards if you take out the 9 yarder!) Gerrard had several nice scrambles, but we dominated the OL pretty well - not as much pressure in the passing game as I had hoped or expected, but our run defense was great.
  19. More like non-calls (holding? Who, the Jags? No way! )
  20. See, I could have sworn that the rule WAS changed a year or two ago to cover this sort of situation. I fully expected the Chargers to get the ball on the replay. But it didn't happen... I remember lots of complaints about players getting hurt because they'll keep playing even if there's a whistle... Am I misunderstanding what that rule was about? Just found a link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2539849 WTF? Chargers got screwed on the replay too? " Previously, if a player was ruled down but the ball popped out, the whistle stopped the play in its tracks. Beginning this season, the whistle won't stop the play if the ball comes loose. The play will be reviewable -- it wasn't reviewable if the issue was merely forward progress of the ball carrier -- and could result in a change of possession."

  22. /ignore fezmid There ya go
  23. I disagree with you -- Dean is 100% right. Any other response is pure emotion and not logic. There's a reason the dad was arrested and the boy was not.
  24. Click the "chat" button on top of the page (or download an IRC client like mIRC and join us that way)
  25. Why not? It integrates transparently - meaning you'll be able to record using your antenna as well... And you're not watching HD if you're getting snow. HD is digital -- digital is on or off. If you're getting snow, you're watching analog and therefore not HD.
