  1. Serious answer: When I moved to Minnesota, I had to live here for 12 months without going to school to be considered a resident. Not sure if other states are different,
  2. I never read the book either -- but loved the movie. Some parts felt glossed over, but I was expecting that. I followed it pretty well though.
  3. Agreed. I used to be a big AVG fan, but now I install Avast for my clients. It just seems to work better. Off the top of my head, here's some other things to install: Open Office Irfanview (image viewer) Folding@Home (help cure Alzheimers) A nice wallpaper from http://www.digitalblasphemy.com
  4. So we're going to miss the playoffs, again? Seriously, how is that any worse...?
  5. I remember when the Bills used to beat the Dolphins all the time... Now we never do.
  6. Seriously.....??? Oh, and someone should tell him it's 2009 and embedded music in webpages died in 1998... It's REALLY annoying.
  7. With all this talk, figured I should share the survival guide: http://slick53.110mb.com/survivaltrackingguide.html (yes, I have the shirt - it's awesome ).
  8. Ninja all the way. I don't want to live without both arms and both legs. Pirates always have a hook or a wooden leg. And they have no depth perception because they've all lost an eye. Plus they have parrots pooping on their shoulder.
  9. The iPod Touch has no buttons.... So it's hard to figure out how to use it, IMHO. For example, when I'm listening to music and trying to do something else, how do I adjust the volume without going back into the music app? I found a way once -- some random touching of the screen, I believe -- but now I can't remember how to do it anymore. The Pearl has (gasp!) volume control on the side. Physical buttons = easier interface in most instances. As others have said, physical keys are also very important -- it's easier to type when you have a tactile response (which is why I wouldn't consider the Storm either). There's a reason good keyboards "click" when you type. I also despise the proprietary iTunes application - it's a complete pig on a PC, and then Apple tries to isntall a dozen other applications at the same tmie (I exaggerate, but not by much). MediaMonkey is a good alternative to getting music onto the iPod Touch, but you can't load apps/firmware with it. Lastly - the screen gets all streaky with fingerprints on the Touch because, well, you touch it. Make sure you keep the cleaning cloth it comes with nearby! It's obviously a personal preference. (anyone want to buy an 8G iPod Touch? )
  10. Exactly. I can't stand the iPod Touch (which is, in essence, an iPhone without the calling functionality). I love my Blackberry Pearl though.
  11. WTF? http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/03/11/google....rnia/index.html Q: Isn't the real threat here the motivation of people who look to commit heinous acts, rather than the technology they use? Anderson: I'm not against the technology; it's fantastic. But we're in an evolving world and we have to change our course as it changes. I'm all for online mapping, but knowing where the air ducts are in an air shaft is not necessary for me to navigate in the city. Who wants to know that level of detail? Bad people do.
  12. A 3 point PAT from 10 yards out....? EDIT: I hope they don't mean kicking from 10 yards out for 3 poitns. In hindsite, they probably mean an offensive play from 10 yards out.
  13. Umm, I think you're wrong about the war part; it's always been claimed that it's about saving energy. That's why they changed the date a couple of years ago -- although it turns out that it ended up costing MORE energy. Pissed off a lot of IT people who had to babysit servers. Yeah, I was one of 'em http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html http://ask.yahoo.com/20040625.html http://www.wisegeek.com/why-do-we-have-day...saving-time.htm
  14. Then you didn't do a very good job conveying your point.
  15. Do you like the direction the boat has been rowing over the past decade...?
  16. On the other hand, if we go into the season without any weapons, and Trent has to be "captain checkdown" again, the fans would run him out of town anyway... So maybe there isn't a downside afterall
  17. I'd stop watching the team if Bellicheck came here. But TO? He's an egomaniac, but not a bad citizen so who cares? If TO pulls his usual stuff and the team blows up, what have we lost? Nothing - we haven't been to the playoffs since 1999 and nobody thought we'd make it there this year either. He hasn't shot anyone, been caught with illegal drugs, nor has he passed through airport security with a Whizzinator. I hope he is on his best behavior -- but if not, again, who cares as long as it's all on-the-field stuff he does.
  18. I just re-read all of the celebrations -- and while I don't remember seeing this one, obviously everyone here can appreciate it On September 16, 2007, Owens mocked Bill Belichick after catching a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins, by hiding behind a field goal post and holding the football to his face in a video camera fashion, as if secretly spying and filming the game. The Cowboys were penalized 15 yards for "excessive celebration". [4] On September 19, 2007, the league fined Owens $7,500 for the celebration. [5] According to Owens, he was only fined because he used the ball as a prop.[6]
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrell_Owens#Controversy I've heard some talk about Buffalo only taking "character" guys and how TO is ruining their image. After reading the list of his "issues," they're all very minor -- and none of them show that he's a bad citizen, only an egomaniac. He hasn't been arrested for drugs, he hasn't been found with a gun, he hasn't assaulted anyone (aside from spitting on Hall during a game), he hasn't really done anything that bad. Part of it is the media focusing on everything he says/does. For example, the Bill Parcells thing where TO says he learned nothing from Parcells. Well, maybe that's true -- it's not the normal soundbites you here, but why is it so wrong to say? I can honestly say I didn't learn anything from my previous manager - why is this any different? I don't like the celebration dances -- I prefer the Thurman Thomas reaction -- but if that's the worst thing he has going for him, who cares? After reading into the transgressions, I'm liking this signing even more. Even if he is a cancer in the locker room, what's the worst that's going to happen? We'll miss the playoffs again?
  20. Everyone needs to keep in mind that TO is only here for a year. Do we want to give up an explosive young player and then be without both TO and RP next season...?
  21. That's exactly what I told my wife last night. "What's the worst that will happen? We'll miss the playoffs again?"
  22. Are Bills fans really this dumb...??? No team cuts their first or second round draft picks after their rookie year, especially when that player has prototypical physical traits unless he can't recover from the injury.. I think that CJ Hawthorne, Felton Huggins, Mike Jefferson, and PK Sam have something to worry about though. CW
  23. I've been to many games, never seen any of that crap. I've also been to Bills games in Minnesota and Green Bay. Got some good natured ribbing walking through the parking lot in Lambeau, but that's about it. Heck, my sister went with me to the Jags home opener a few years back and nobody said anything to her either... But she kept her mouth shut and didn't rub the loss in. I can almost guarantee the guy (and wife) were misbehaving and aren't the innocents the article is trying to paint. And doesn't it seem odd that he'd go into the portapotty if he wasn't feeling safe? Wouldn't you get to your vehicle as fast as possible? Or find a security guard? Still doesn't condone an (alleged) 20 minute beating, but I just don't think it's that black and white -- and why did it take them 2.5 years to file?
