  1. The Roku devices are very good for Netflix streaming. Not as good as the Xbox 360 because you have to do all of your queue management on the web, but it's still very good and is only $99 with no extra charges down the road. Hmm, apparently they don't sell the old $99 version anymore, and the new version is $129. Still worth it though. http://www.amazon.com/Roku-N1101-HD-XR-Pla...5874&sr=8-1
  2. Just because you want to bring in depth, doesn't mean there's much out there that would help the team. During the season, we were bringing in practice squad guys - that tells me that there wasn't a lot of quality out there.
  3. Yeah, same here -- UPS has been great (aside from ding-dong-ditch, which I don't like...). FedEx, on the other hand, has actually delivered packages to the wrong house (one of which was my wife's engagement ring!!! ). They also refuse to redeliver anything if you're not home, even if the driver attempted delivery a couple of minutes prior. Then again, it appears that UPS now charges a fee to change delivery dates or delivery addresses, so their customer service might be dropping a bit too... But other than that, I've had no problems.
  4. Just because people keep saying that Pittsburgh had their backups in, doesn't make it true. They had their entire starting OL playing. The "backup" HB was Willie Parker, who turned out to be pretty darn good. They also had some defensive starters playing. They didn't really rest very many players in that game. Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Our OL didn't even look half bad to start the season - until they all started dropping like flies, and then their backups started dropping like flies. We had a safety playing LB for a good chunk of the season! Injuries killed the team.
  5. Yes, indirectly: http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Beer-Premium-Gold...6702&sr=8-1
  6. Me too....
  7. Take that one step further... Go to Amazon.com, don't pay tax (unless you live in NY) and let UPS deliver it to your door.
  8. I believe you have to take the class before you can go to the range. Even if that weren't true, I'd want the class so I don't do something stupid since I've never been around guns before. Here's the machine guns you can rent: http://www.billsgs.com/modules.php?set_alb...=view_album.php I was looking at the AK47, because it's the only name I recognize.... Any suggestions? (notice that there's two pages of images ). Glad to hear it's fun -- I figured it would be! Now to carve out time in our schedules to go.
  9. I've never fired a gun in my life, but it's something I've talked about wanting to do for some time. Well, for Christmas my wife signed us up for hand gun lessons - it's a 4 hour class on handguns, with some time on a firing range as well - should be interesting and I'm really looking forward to it! The place we're going also offers machine gun lessons -- and if we like the handguns, we can get a 1 hour one-on-one class on machine guns and get some time firing those as well. Sounds like it could be fun, although a bit more intimidating. It's $60 for an hour, including rental - but ammo is additional, and I have no idea how much a bullet costs -- but I can imagine it's not cheap, especially when with a fully automatic weapon. Just curious who else has done something like this, and if it's a good time.
  10. Growing up, it was always Christmas morning. My wife's family does it on Christmas Eve though, and since we live near them, that's what ends up winning. I don't like it, but what can you do? That said, my wife and I do our own Christmas when we get back home from her parents' house -- this year it'll be Saturday (or Sunday, depending on how bad the snowstorm is in the midwest).

  12. Not true - they looked crappy in the first game of the season too.
  13. Link for those of us who don't know what crime you're referring to?
  14. Don't ask....
  15. Week 15 inactives: Mike Reilly (third QB). QB Marc Bulger, T Jason Smith, T Ryan McKee, DE Leonard Little, T/G Eric Young, CB Jonathan Wade, RB Chris Ogbonnaya.
  16. Jets inactives: Week 15 inactives: QB Erik Ainge (3rd), QB Kevin o'Connell, RB Chauncey Washington, CB Marquice Cole, LB Kenwin Cummings, OG Robert Turner, WR David Clowney, and LB Marqus Murrell.
  17. Exactly. Byrd's starting, and TO is in, so we'll win.
  18. Week 15 inactives: QB Brian Brohm (3rd), WR Steve Johnson, CB Ashton Youboty, DB Cary Harris, OT Jamon Merideth, WR James Hardy, TE Joe Klopenstein, and DE Chris Ellis.
  19. Except in the case of the original poster, it didn't "just work." Thus, he was here trying to figure out how to use his new harddrive.
  20. I aimed down at a 45 degree angle towards the base of the green blocks. That pushed the base over, and the rest of them just toppled over and gave me points. I don't remember how hard I shot it -- but it wasn't too high, maybe 15-20? Maybe I just got lucky...?
  21. Really? I got through 8 on my first try.... Level 6 is the one that stumped me for quite a bit.
  22. eBay or Craigslist.
  23. That's fine, but it's still a terrible UI design. The only times I've used a Mac is during a couple of Photoshop classes -- and each time I find the interface very difficult to use and not the "you'll know how to do everything instantly" experience Mac users try to share. Then I read this post about how to eject a disk, and I'm thinking, "What the hell? If the students in the UI class I TA'd for came up with that for their interface, I would've failed them!" In the end, it's just an OS and people generally just like what they're familiar with. No OS is perfect (except OpenBSD ), and I think this thread proves it. You should always have at least 2 copies of your data, and if you do I wouldn't worry about drive failures. I've had to RMA (get a replacement from the factory) drives in the past, and Seagate and Western Digital make the process painless (no experience with Maxtor or Samsung). A week later, you're back in business.
