I make Thai spring rolls with dipping sauce that are really good. Ingredients * 6 spring roll wrappers (available in Asian markets) * 12 medium, cooked shimp or cooked chicken breast sliced * 1 cup shredded leaf lettuce * 1/3 cup chopped cilantro * 1/2 cup peeled, seeded, chopped cucumber * 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced * 1/3 cup of mint leaves * 1 carrot shredded * Cellophane noodles (bean thread noodles) soaked and drained * FOR SAUCE: 1/4 c sugar * 1/2 c water * 1/2 c red wine vinegar * 2 tb fish sauce or * 1 tb soy sauce * 2 ts red chili peppers; ground * 1/2 carrot; shredded * 1/4 c peanuts; coarsely chopped Directions 1. In a bowl of cool water, soak a wrapper until limp. Lay wrapper out flat. Place 1/6 of each ingredient down middle of wrapper, starting with lettuce. Fold over each end and tightly roll the wrapper around the contents, as if making a burrito. Moisten at seam; press to close. 2. Lay on plate, cover with moist paper towel and refrigerate until ready to serve. Then slice in two and serve with Thai Dipping Sauce. 3. FOR SAUCE: In a small saucepan combine the sugar and water. Then bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until sugar is dissolved. 4. Remove from heat and add the red wine vinegar, fish sauce and red chile pepper. Mix well. 5. Pour sauce in serving bowl, chill and top with carrots and peanuts just before serving.

Actually, it's not liberal -- nobody's asking for a government handout. It's free market -- "If you give me X, I'll stay with your company. If not, I might give my entertainment dollars to company Y instead." Capitalism, no?

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you actually READ my post....? "If so, call them up, ask for customer retention (important step!), and tell them that you're really upset that they don't carry Versus" See the "important step!" part?
-
Did you talk to Customer Retention?
-
Do you have DirecTV? If so, call them up, ask for customer retention (important step!), and tell them that you're really upset that they don't carry Versus. If they don't offer it up, ask them if you can get the rest of the NHL season for free on Center Ice to make up for not having Versus. One of my coworkers called and complained a month or two ago, and they up and offered it to him without him even having to ask.

Really? Wasn't a good horror movie?

Andre Reed needs to be inducted this year.
Fezmid replied to basskik11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How can you say that? He had the 2nd most catches in NFL history, behind only Jerry Rice.... The league is much more pass-happy now, so the numbers haven't held up, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there. And as others have said, nobody else went over the middle and took the shots that Reed did game after game. That said, I doubt it'll happen this year. -
I heard that Jennifer's Body was actually a decent horror flick.... http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/2799/jennifersbody.html

I get along with my in-laws fine -- but they do live 300 miles away, which helps. I'm sure my wife feels the same way about my parents, and they live 900+ miles away. Family does some crappy stuff from time to time -- but life's too short to dwell on it, unless they're evil, vindictive people. A few transgressions is part of being human, IMHO.

That's rather narrow minded to say without knowing the entire situation... (ie: things going on in her life, your daughter's life, etc, etc, etc). People have bad days; that's no reason to write them off for life, if this was an isolated incident.

Popular birthday! Happy Birthday everyone! -
Those Americans who didn't panic and left everything in their 401(k)s and IRAs should be mostly recovered by now -- I know I have, anyway....

Gregg Williams talking like the idiot he is
Fezmid replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You do realize that people on this board are bitching about this more than people in Minnesota, right? Almost everyone I've talked to in the office has said the hits were borderline, but not outrageous, and that it had nothing to do with the loss. Just sayin'. -
Ooops -- brain fart. Been running around too much today, sorry.

Gregg Williams talking like the idiot he is
Fezmid replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't say that. Even in the article, he was quoted as saying, "When you put too much of that type of worry on a warrior's mind, he doesn't play all out," Williams said. "If it happens, it happens. And the only thing you'd like for me to say is that if it happens you hope he doesn't get back up and play again." Almost like the interviewer is trying to goad him into saying that he's trying to injure someone, when all he's saying is, "I'm not telling my guys to let up on the QB for fear of getting a penalty. If you get one, you get one." Sound advice, as you don't want your players playing scared. -
Terry Donahoe's nickname on TSW (don't ask me why).

Gregg Williams talking like the idiot he is
Fezmid replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Umm, I've heard plenty of coordinators and coaches say the same thing - "We want to hit the QB so that he doesn't want to play anymore." Hell, isn't that the gameplan against receivers going over the middle too? Regardless, it sounds like the author is taking things COMPLETELY out of context to make his story and get people to read it. "We want to make sure we hit Manning to throw him off his rhythm, and I'm not going to tell my defenders to worry about penalties because then they won't be playing, they'll be worrying about penalties." There's nothing to see here - except for the story the author wants you to believe. -
So is Williams. In another Superbowl. He's a great defensive coordinator who had an unsuccessful stint as our head coach. How exactly was it a bad decision to hire him? Sean Payton liked him enough that he took a pay cut to get Williams in, and is now going to the Superbowl. That should say something about the guy, no?

Assuming it's not scrapped due to budget constraints. -
If they don't have enough competent professionals at the time, they schedule the client to come in at a time when they do have proper staffing... Did you skip the part about the 69 hours of required tax classes you have to take to work there? (89 hours in Oregon I believe). And the required continuing education you have to take to work there for a second year? It's not like they take the people with the 69 hours of classroom instruction and have them do a farmer's return (where every piece of livestock is an asset). And quoting the fact that H&R Block has been sued is worthless -- we live in a society where everyone sues everyone else. Doesn't mean anybody has done anything wrong. Here's proof (I found this funny - eHarmony just settled yesterday): http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN3122132120070531

Oh, we get tons of sunshine! It's almost always sunny during winter. It's 0F, but always sunny! Kind of a strange combo...

The weather in Minnesota is great this time of year! Errr, nevermind.

I did a bunch of research about them beforehand; the IRS officially supports them, so I figured it was as good as anything, and better than giving my SSN to someone at a tax preparation place (H&R Block, CPA, whatever). I was a bit skeptical, but it's really no different than doing it on TurboTax - the information gets out there. I don't let them keep my return though (they charge extra for that anyway), although they probably still have my information somewhere... But yeah, I did have to think long and hard about it -- and still not 100% comfortable.
