  2. Great game, Gophers! Let's win the Big 10 tournament tomorrow!!!! And hopefully we'll see you selected for the NCAA tourney tomorrow too!
  3. I was... And won't hear the end of it from the office next week. Going to see the Wild play the Blues on Sunday though - vendor gave me a suite ticket with free food and drink. Can't turn that down!
  4. Yup - most banks use a product called "Falcon Fraud Manager." http://www.fico.com/en/Products/DMApps/Pag...ud-Manager.aspx While you're at it, you might also want to subscribe to FICO's Scorewatch program. You can get a month for free - and you'll get your real FICO score (not the ones Equifax, Experian, and Trans-Union give you which isn't as accurate since most banks use the true FICO score). If anyone wants to sign up for longer than a month, send me a PM - I think I have some discounts available. http://www.myfico.com/Default.aspx
  5. If you're going to have something stolen, your credit card is the best thing though -- even if the bad guys charged stuff, you'd be responsible for at most $50 (and 99% of the time, credit card companies eat those losses). So no harm, no foul.

  7. Say it aint so! The guy was lying?!?! Toyota wasn't to blame?!?!
  8. Anyone else hear this band in NHL 2010? They have a pretty catchy song that plays during the game called "Wake Up" One of the first times I've actually looked up a band based on the music I heard in a video game...
  9. If Obama really wants health care reform.....
  10. I know Scott likes these deals: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/31606/Rest...rtificates-0-80
  11. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was pretty cool, especially all of the guitar statues out front.
  12. I guess the answer is "No."
  13. Like Tom said, you're talking about every company in the world with that statement.
  14. I'm not talking about EVERYBODY. But you replied to my message about the engine problem and said, "You really need to do some research regarding Toyota and the engine sludge problem." What do *I* need to do research for? Am I supposed to be an advocate for everybody else? My car works fine, so *I* don't need to waste my time doing research on the problem. Sheesh.
  15. Why? My car is 11 years old and hasn't had a single problem in that 11 years. The worst problem I've had is a blown tire -- not OEM -- and that was because I was being dumb and putting off the purchase of new tires just a bit too long...
  16. Why would they do anything right off the bat until they do their own research to determine if there really IS a problem....? Looking at my car as an example, I still have no issues. I bought the car in May '99, and I believe I received the letter before I was married - so within 2 years of buying the car. I didn't join any class action lawsuit, so I have no idea -- like I said, I still don't know most of the details, only that it's covered for 200,000 miles.
  17. Which it doesn't. It's all security theater.
  18. Didn't take blame? You mean that letter I got in the mail that said, "If you have a problem with sludging, we'll cover it up to 200,000 miles" wasn't them being there for the customer? That said, my car has 140,000 miles on it and it still drives great... Was that PR? I'm sure a portion of it was. But they didn't just ignore it -- and I didn't even know it was a problem until I received the letter many years ago. Sounds like more squeeky complainers to me...
  19. I'm not blaming the "victim," I'm accusing 99.9% of these "victims" to be lying. He didn't want to take his hands off the wheel, but he was ok with reaching down and trying to pry the gas pedal up with his hand?! How the hell are you going to do that while still watching the road??? Sorry, I'm not buying this "runaway Prius" story -- I think most of the so-called "reports" have been lies. Why is it all of a sudden that we're getting a dozen reports of this "issue" every day? It's because people want to blame everything on the "issue" since it's been getting lots of media attention.
  20. At this point, why not make everyone strip for real? It's all security theater. None of it makes us safer.
  21. Fixed your post for you. And you say you have a hard time believing there are that many people who would play around with a situation like this... How many REAL incidents have there been? Reporting something after the fact is easy - people make up false lawsuits all the time - but how many real incidents have actually happened? And of those, how many aren't simply driver error? (ie: why is anyone flooring the gas anyway? I've never in my life had a desire to do that).
  22. Who puts the "pedal to the metal" in a non-racing situation...? If I did that, I'd be going 100+ MPH in no time flat.... And since the highest speed limit in the Twin cities is 70, I don't see the point... If the only way to get the gas pedal to stick is to push it all the way to the floor, this is less of an issue than I initially thought.
  23. Damn Toyota for bringing those carp into the country!
  24. That's a whole other issue with this country - everyone rushes to be "first" with their story, facts be damned. Even the post I made yesterday about the cops/SWAT team across the street from my office -- one report said it was the 3400 block, the other report said it was the 4400 block. Who needs facts???
