James Hardy Analysis
Stevie Ray replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Posts like these are absolutely REFRESHING to read, especially after all the other crap being posted on this board! -
Exactly. And how many times have we heard that to win in the NFL, you need a solid defense along with a solid running game. And the base of both units always comes down to the lines. Look how the Giants generate pressure with the front 4 alone. That makes the DBs look better, and the Defense as a whole perform better when the LBs are free to defend the run. Their Oline opens up holes consistently for their running backs. And although they have a good trio of RBs, you have to think they're getting a little more yardage than they would on any other team due to the consistency of the line. Which in turn opens up the passing game. When will we ever see this blueprint carried out in Buffalo? Especially being a cold weather team, you would think it would be a focus year after year.

Agree wholeheartedly. And I think the main culprit is the lack of talent on the Dline. Schobel is average/slightly better than average at best and while Stroud has made a difference, it hasnt been enough. LDE and the other DT position really need to be upgraded to make Stroud and Schobel more effective and in turn, the rest of the D.

There's nothing wrong with Jason Peter's play....
Stevie Ray replied to BEAST MODE BABY!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely agree. And what bothers me is to hear the coaches (Jauron and Kugler) say he is playing well and have no problems with his play. Granted we dont know what they say to him in private, but assuming its the same, this only helps to reinforce in his mind that he is playing like he did last year, and provides him ammo at the end of the season when he complains about his pay again, pointing to how his coaches praised his performance. -

Wow! #10 is the winner, hands down! (and I mean hands down on that second shot ) -
You'd think that with all the publicity Mort gets on this board, HE'd give us some exposure on ESPN, or at least a little shout out.

Perhaps the erotic play all starts when Trent puts his hands under the center............ -
Rudi Johnson robbed by... NFL player
Stevie Ray replied to Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Strange. This story would seem to suggest the opposite as far as Bell's reaction to johnson "taking" his job. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3566019 -
Just to clarify, unless Walker winds up starting in his normal RT spot, he wont be facing Jason Taylor. JT plays Left DE, Andre Carter is the Right DE in Washington's D.

Roger Goodell: Leading "America's Passion"
Stevie Ray replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent and informative write up Lori. The thing I immediately thought of when reading about the 'constant reminder that “you have to make decisions that you think are right, regardless of the consequences.” ' piece is Goodell's decision to destroy the tapes. Perhaps he knew it wasnt the right thing to do in terms of destroying evidence, knowing full well many would question those actions regardless of the punishment levied agaisnt the Pats. But he may have felt that destroying it would help to put this blemish on the league in the past and allow things to move forward. But if anything, I think it may have had the opposite effect. -
On a positive note. WR Adarius Bowman.
Stevie Ray replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, its amazing about the eyes/lasik surgery, given his production. Just might make him that much better. And as far as his 40 time, I'm sure alot of teams are kicking themselves for not taking Anquan Boldin, and if I remember correctly his time was in the 4.7s as well. This kid seems really intriguing, thanks! -
On a positive note. WR Adarius Bowman.
Stevie Ray replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to admit I'm not all that familiar with Bowman, but reading these stories, and given his measurements (6'4, 220 4.47), why exactly is he falling and being projected to mid to late rds? Surely not from that freshman incident alone, is it? -
Maybe Steve Fairchild gets to really open up the offense this time around.

Its a conspiracy! There were too many anti-Patriots* threads the past year and now they're all gone, just like the tapes!

Modrak to have his future freed up?

Ah, I wasnt looking at it from that angle, but more from the "who to blame" angle. Thanks! -
Modrak to have his future freed up?
Stevie Ray replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This article is confusing, what does one thing have to do with the other? Modrak isnt involved as far as I know with the FA negotiations and the money they are ultimately payed. I always thought his area was more in the draft. So am I missing something as far as how the "terrible FA spending" correlates with Modrak being pushed out? -
I think its a typo. I always remember him being listed at 260 - 265. I even remember some article, maybe in BB.bom, some time ago where he mentioned that range as his preferred weight. Something's not right with some of these weights.

And Melvin Fowler is now 310? What have they been feeding these guys?

Hmmm, I wonder if a can of paint would have had more yards last season?

Keith McCants. Supposedly the next Lawrence Taylor.

Do you like the trade Marv made with Philadelphia?
Stevie Ray replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Initially I thought we gave up more than what we got in return, but I was just speaking with a coworker who's a big longtime Eagle fan and he said in his opinion we got a really good player in Walker. In fact he said he considered him their best D-lineman. So I'm feeling a little better about this trade.
