  1. This is true. However the QB has the most influence and control above all the other players by a pretty big margin. Every play starts with his hands on the football and he decides what to do with it and executes it. So yes, all players MUST do their part, but the QBs part is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY bigger and more important. That's why QBs get the glory when we win and the ire when we don't. He's far from just one of the guys (which is what Trent Edwards thought).
  2. After there was some tape on him defenses realized he was a check down artist and treated him accordingly.
  3. We'll see if they get down field he actually throws it to them. His problem wasn't bad WRs IMHO, it was checking down too much. If he doesn't change that, his career will paralell Trent's.
  4. The Eagles D fell apart once teams realized Wentz wasn't going down field. His game is very similar to Trent Edwards.
  5. He's one weak sister tackling attempt/Dodge away from riding the pine.
  6. It's not sad for me because I regularly trashed him and his "tackling" for years while he played for us.
  7. Fun Fact: In every game we won in 2016, the defense held the opponent to less than 22 points.
  8. Kyle could pull games out of the fire late too like the Minnesota and Detroit games.
  9. Yes, but sadly the game is 60 minutes long, not 59.
  10. It's what separates the men from the boys. Tebow was also 50% btw. I don't care who you are. You gotta win a couple of games like this if you want to make the playoffs. Russell Wilson does AND he has the BEST D in the NFL.
  11. Excuses excuses excuses. Goodwin was there FOR THE WIN and Hotod missed him. Can't you just admit that? I like Hotrod, but he's gotta be better in the clutch, or he'll go the way of Fitz, Trent, and JP and deservedly so. I'm fine with his game AS IS except for his propensity to come up small when we need him most. Even if Carp makes the FG, the game wasn't over. (1st possession of OT) Do you really think our D could have stopped them on the next drive? They hadn't stopped them all day. A good pass there and we win!
  12. I think he's a good WR but just can't stay on the field. More than just a deep threat IMHO. I talked to a guy that does internet interviews and stuff for the 49ers. He grew up down the street from me and was at home visiting Mom and Dad. He said the coaches are really high on Goodwin and he's looking forward to seeing him play. Should be interesting ...
  13. Except for missing a wide open Goowdin in the EZ for the win on the play before the Carp miss and 2 plays before the 10 men on the field 50 yard Ajaya run. That's gotta end if he's gonna be THE MAN. He's GOTTA hit in those situations.
  14. Looks like he brought his hustle to NE. Letting up before the ball even got there. The only thing missing was turning around and pointing at someone else.
  15. Of course our D was not very good and contributed mightily to some of our losses. However, Hotrod was not some innocent bystander. He helped. In the 2nd Fish game, the play before Carp missed his second FG Hotrod had Goodwin open in the EZ. He connects we win. He missed. He also missed Woods on 4th down in EZ vs Hawks. He hits that we probably win. Get some 1st downs and don't fumble in 2nd half vs the Raidahs and we probably win that one. There's plenty of blame to go around INCLUDING Hotrod himself. To make the playoffs this year we need better play n all 3 phases.
  16. You sound like a broken record.
  17. We'll never know because SHE LOST.
  18. From this thread we can tell which posters had a mispent youth watching Gilligan's Island reruns after school (like me).
  19. I think after several weak sister tackling attempts, Bill Bellyache throws his pencil in disgust and benches him to teach him a lesson.
  20. This happens every year in the Lake Wobegon Football League (LWFL) where all QBs are above average.
  21. Just curious. What do you think he needs to do to "make it" or not do to "break it"? That's pretty much what last year was and he did solid but not great. Pretty much right in the middle.
  22. Jake Delhomme only played in 2 games his first 4 years. Danny White didn't play QB in his first 4 seasons in Dallas. Craig Morton played very little in his first 3 years in Dallas. Aaron Rodgers only had 35 attempts in his first 3 years. Warren Moon played 6 years in Canada before he got an NFL start. Brett Favre didn't play in his rookie year. You're right that most of the good ones do start right out of the chute. But still, there's a chance.
  23. In regards to Danny White: You're right on the establishing himself quickly. However, that was not his 5th season as a pro, it was his 7h. He played for the Memphis Showboats for 2 years before joining Dallas. He was also a franchise punter while backing up Roger. Danny was an excellent QB (and punter). Not sure why his name never comes up when mentioning "franchise QB"s from the past.
