All threats are not equal. Someone could threaten to punch you, and you don't have to run away, but you don't get to shoot them.

From what's been reported stand your ground defense shouldn't really apply here unless the laws there are goofy. Why do people think stand your ground means you get to shoot someone?

I agree that there should have been a reaction. I just think the idea that 'we are banning people from going on the network until they make internal corrections' is the wrong reaction, and only reinforces a negative image of your group.

I think you are mistaken about why people dislike Sherman's behavior. It has nothing to do with hurting Crabtree's feelings. And you may not have said anything about racism but it's been alluded to several times in this thread.

I like how this thread is about Richard Sherman's racist detractors instead of Richard Sherman's behavior. It's amazing that people are ready to defend Sherman's behavior but are quick to call or suggest that other people they've never met or personally spoken to are racists based on what they believe is a racist code word.

I hate to burst your bubble, but the practice of teaching to the lowest common denominator leaves many of our brightest students behind. The system is failing all kids, not just the dumb or the poor.
