He's probably quoting a dumbass friend from Facebook who is quoting a ridiculous internet blogger who is quoting the Constitution. -
Official Bills Only-Talk Thread - PPP Style
Joe Miner replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Are gameday threads a way of proving that art imitates life? Crap on the field, crap in the thread. It would be an interesting test. If the Bills ever got good, you'd hope the level of fan commentary would improve as well. -
Government Shut Down Looming!

Do you think this shutdown means the CDC isn't collecting data, or does it mean that it is not getting published to the web? -

Do I think it's important for you to know this data, or do I think it's important for the CDC to know this data? -

I guess you are sticking with that as your answer. -

See, I can only assume you were attempting to answer my question about how the shutdown has affected your life personally, since you quote my question in your response. If you were not answering my question, just let me know. But the answer that you gave stated that CDC website was out of date, and with an out of date CDC website, we are at risk for a pandemic. Are you sticking with this answer, or are you sure you wouldn't like to take another crack at the question? -

The Affordable Care Act is Coming Home to Roost
Joe Miner replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Maybe this is just the security for the site? Since they didn't have time to put secure websites in place, just make them secure by making them not work? I miss that Guinness commercial. Brilliant! -

So this is how the gov't shutdown is currently affecting your daily life? It's caused you to change your entire life to start prepping for a flu pandemic? -

Hmm...I guess I should have been more specific in asking for an situation that a Midol couldn't solve. -
But it didn't shine a light on anything other than greedy lawyers. Which isn't the problem, it's just a symptom. It basically said there were undeserving people on disability, and there were dishonest lawyers out there making it happen. That's why it was worthless. Who didn't already know that: 1) You could find unethical lawyers 2) People like not working and getting free money Nothing about disability requirements, what loopholes were being exploited, why the system is set up the way it is, what changes to the system were being proposed, how widespread is this problem, etc... Newsflash: People are greedy and lazy. I think it was just narrative to repeat in case anything comes from this upcoming report. It's writing the story before the story actually happens.

Government Shut Down Looming!

Anyone wanna take a quick informal survey? How many people here have been personally affected by this shutdown? Not enraged by news stories, or know of a friend or family member that has been affected, but you yourselves. Anyone missed a paycheck, or not been able to use a gov't service that they needed? Just curious. I have not noticed any difference or issue in my life since the shutdown. -
I saw most of the 60 minutes piece, and to me it seemed to be pointing the blame on any shortcomings of SS disability to shady lawyers. They did have some astonishing insight that Walmart was busier when people received their checks. I found that pretty groundbreaking. They didn't get too far into Coburn's upcoming report other than some statistics. Something like 25% of people on disability were phony, and I believe another 25% were very questionable. But I'd suggest reading the report instead of listening to the 60 minutes assessment. It was overall a pretty worthless segment IMO. But if you run enough stories talking around the problems of a gov't program, you can avoid actually talking about the real problems with a gov't program.

This is what happens with a 1 size fits all education system.

The Affordable Care Act is Coming Home to Roost
Joe Miner replied to Keukasmallies's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's nice when we can twist other's views to meet a preconceived notion about their stance that allows us to justify and feel good about ourselves isn't it? I like living with my head up my ass as well. -

They're just gonna fix it by making the link go to the Peterpan guy's page. That should double or maybe even triple his regular traffic. -

I actually saw that crap segment on TV. Let's not address the pieces of **** that basically steal disability money, let's not address the bureaucracy that allows for undeserving people to get disability. Let's just run a story that seemingly places most of the blame on the shady lawyers. Real hard hitting journalism.

The fact that you keep asking these stupid questions shows you are missing the point. The reason they are in the spot they are currently in with no decent option available to sign is because of decisions made months ago that are now coming back to bite them in the ass. They aren't expected to have a superstar backup QB. But they are the ones that put themselves in the situation to have played an undrafted rookie who was borderline terrible in college in an actual NFL game. The fact that the Bills aren't choosing a good **** sandwich to eat isn't the problem. The problem is that they put themselves in a situation to eat a **** sandwich in the first place.
-
I'm not the one missing the point here. The Bills stupidly put themselves in this position well before the season started and are now paying the price. Tuel isn't the problem, he's the symptom.

Thaddeus Lewis starting against Bengals

The Tuel trashing session was last Thursday against the Browns. -
The "fact" that you and the Bills consider/ed Tuel to be good enough to be an NFL backup is disturbing.
-
The fact that they thought Tuel gave them any chance to win is disturbing.

No one wants to complain about the pushoff from the Dallas WR on the two point conversion? I'm sure plenty of people will say that that play was no big deal, but if it was Gronk against a Bills defender, people would be up in arms. There are lots of missed calls in a game, and almost every one of them is right in front of an official, because there are lots of officials and they put themselves in positions to be able to see as much as possible. Did the NFL also contact Romo and tell him to choke late in another game by throwing an INT? Or is that just who Romo is?
