  1. He may - MAY - be dumb as a bag of beagles, but I'm guessing even Peters can't miss the turn of events over the past week. Let's see if he takes it as inspiration and plays his friggin' brains out in Arizona this week. The Bills are going to need it. This game could turn into a track meet. Three or four touchdowns aren't going to cut it. I was wondering if this thread was going to resurface. It's Saturday night before the game, and it's time to start the pre-tailgate tailgate. Molson Canadian and the Beatles White Album. Fire in the fireplace. The bay is flat calm.
  2. Or, perhaps he's a self-absorbed, delusional mouth-breather who has somehow - against all odds - managed to get himself this incredibly cool gig wherein people on internet boards actually think he knows the difference between inhaling and exhaling? Just a thought. "From Me To You" - The BEATLES
  3. Simpleton. Sociology didn't work out, they've switched to meteorology, and are pointing to the heavens to warn us of an approaching cold front. You should be grateful. I sure am.
  4. Wings. Fine. Be that way. Fine. Oh, it's now "Across the Universe" Pass that toke-generating-device.
  5. Oh. Sorry. Dr. Konstantin Frank Chardonnay (2005), and it's pretty much a dead indian. Should have purchased the Dry Riesling, but didn't. On to the Molson Canadian. The music is old Paul McCartney - "Every Night". And he's rocking.
  6. True, Senator, but only "at times". You can't (with a straight face) state to me, God, and The Wall, that you'd rather have either Chambers or Walker playing LT on a regular basis. Peters, that pantload, deserves all the fecal surprise that he gets, but he's going to have to play himself back into shape. Soon.
  7. Yeesh. Really. Jamie Nails? That's stretching the truth a little harder than Peters' waist band. I'm kind of hammered on Konstantin Frank Chardonnay, so I can't remember the year that Nails went to the Pro Bowl. I could Google it, but that's about 19 keystrokes I just don't have in me....
  8. Another way to think of it, perhaps, is that he's somewheres around June (?). July? August? Certainly not October. I'm not defending the fact that he pulled a bonehead move - he should be speed-dialing another agent. THAT move certainly backfired. But here we are, right? The guy didn't get into playing shape when the rest of the team did, and he's now an albatross. Hang in there. He'll be crushing people by the Jets/Pats* series. But you can kiss that contract good bye, Jason. You've been a naughty, naughty boy.
  9. Didn't you say you were going to do something about the avatar? Or was I just having one of those hopeful moments that arise like mushrooms just before the lawnmower gets its weekly workout?
  10. Gosh, Senator, no. The Bills are rolling along at 4-0 as a team. Let me repeat that. As a team. Including the back up QB. Fortunately, this is an internet forum populated by impatient, usually-alcohol-soaked fans, and not General Managers. This would NOT be the time to pull the trigger on a tectonic event like trading a VERY EXPERIENCED backup QB on a team that HASN'T MADE THE PLAYOFFS in this century. I really wanted JP to succeed, and you can all search my posts that relate him to being the next Stabler. It didn't happen. But, boy oh boy, am I glad that he's on the bench, one hit away from not only coming INTO a game, but from WINNING a game. That's what this year is about, boys and girls. That's what this year is about.
  11. Perhaps Edwards doesn't have the arm strength, but I'm doubtful that's the case - he seems to be able to wing it 40 yards or more. He's not Losman, but not too many people have that kind of arm. If you're talking deep balls this season, I guess that means Evans. I can't think of one thus far to Hardy, or Reed. Parrish? Someone help me out on that one - I truly can't remember. Evans is awfully fast. I think we've heard "4.3" tossed around here from time to time. I'm thinking that Evans just tends to overrun it with that speed. And that will all change with more playing time together. The fact that they've linked up as much as they have already this year is encouraging. I'm more excited about what they could do (a) later this year and (b) into next year, now that Evans is here for awhile.
  12. There was only marginal contrition in the apology, but it'll have to do. "I didn't get a harrrumph out of you!!".... - Mel Brooks
  13. Reed's nickname this year (in our household) is "Money". 2nd and 7? 3rd and 7? Who gets the call? That guy is money in the bank this year. Watch for him to get a LOT more defensive attention as the year goes on. The best thing that could happen is that I'm wrong on that statement, because that guy is like punching a clock. Money. Automatic.
  14. Well, pain shots and anti-inflammatories. Trust me - his knee is the size of a cantaloupe right now.
  15. I don't want to be a the guy who rains on the parade, but I sprained an MCL a number of years back while skiing in Utah. I'm not Terrence McGee, or anything approaching a professional athlete (well, I was pretty good on the downhill back then), but that knee sure hurt like hell for awhile. I can't imagine sprinting forward and backward against people hauling ass with 4.3 speed with an injury like that. Thank God for the bye week - he may not even be back by then. Nice to have some depth at the position.
  16. God, that's a beautiful post. Add this to a Bills win this afternoon, and my day is made.
  17. The Arizona game is the one that I've had circled on my calendar as the biggest potential "trap game", and I put that in quotes because I'm seeing that a lot of posters on this board feel the same way. That's the one that worries me, followed by San Diego - a much bigger challenge. As for the Rams game, Jesus, I'd just love them to be up by about 14 points with about 5 minutes to go so I don't feel like throwing up. And that doesn't have to do with the quantity and quality of beer I'm drinking. I guess I think you're right. They're not quite at the point at which they are expected to be dominant and ruthless. This could be a Maalox season.
  18. Perhaps it's early times still, but I seem to recall a lot more garbage coming this way in years past. And I know I'm not imagining things. Anyone else remember Italian Mobster, who couldn't write in until he'd cleaned up after Trix and had made his bed? I don't recall a LOT of trash-talking from the Seahawks (at least not on THIS board), the Jags (I think there was one person), and the Raiders thus far this season. I haven't seen ANYTHING from the Rams fans. Nothing like having a few wins under the belt to keep the Philistines away from the gate. Of course, there are still six games coming up with the Pats*, Brets and Phins, so I guess we'd better get the kitty litter out for the front hall. Side note - I have a former co-worker, big Pats* fan, who used to call me every Friday to "politely" gloat about how the weekend was going to progress. Last year was a LONG season, I can assure you. He left me a message the first week of this season....."urgh", I thought, "here we go again". Then Brady's knee went snap, the Bills crushed the Seahawks, and I haven't heard from him since. I mean, it was like a fart in a windstorm. Gone. I don't mind the back-and-forth, the level-headed debating of the pros-and-cons of one's team, but it's just nice not to have to take so much schit. Winning's nice. Let's see if the Bills can squeeze out another weekend of it.
  19. Beat me to it, dammit. Yes, Bill, not only COULD she be worse.... She IS.
  20. Really. It's like watching the Zapruder film for me. I have to leave the room. I just can't do it. God, now I'm depressed and pissed off just thinking about it.
  21. Curious. Why do you say that about the Cards? I haven't watched Minute 1 of a Cardinals game this year, so I really don't know. Based on past reputation (okay, relatively recent past), I thought they were on the rise. What gives? Note to the "karma mojo gods". I'm not looking past the St. Louis game. Let's hope the Bills aren't.
  22. "Luck" is relative! The Bills are definitely doing better than they were this time LAST year, but losing Parrish for a month probably costs the Bills about 60-80 yards of field position per game on ST. Regardless, I'll take this year's luck over last year's, thank you very much!
  23. Ah.....how about 'wait until this line learns how to run block'? I've been waiting for THAT for about 2 years. Not meaning to rain on a lot of parades, but until we start seeing some true road-grading, the Bills' supposed home field advantage in bad weather will only be that......"supposed". Edwards can't expect to throw darts in the wind and snow in December.
  24. That would be "No Schit", which is two words. You don't want to fail the kid, do you?
