  1. So then the call comes down to a subjective interpretation of whether the ball was fielded cleanly?? Now that's funny.
  2. It might have been a poorly kicked ball. But if I'm reading the rule right, it would have been impossible to expire the clock with only 2 seconds remaining...
  3. Section 3 Starting the Game Clock Free Kick Down Article 1 The game clock operator shall start the game clock (time in) after a free kick when the ball is legally touched in the field of play. The game clock shall not start if: (a) the receiving team recovers the ball in the end zone and does not carry the ball into the field of play; (b) the kicking team recovers the ball in the field of play; or © the receiving team signals for and makes a fair catch. A.R. 4.1 a) With three seconds remaining in the second quarter, A1 attempts an onside kick from the A35. The kick is caught or recovered legally at the A46: a) by A2, b) by B1 who signals for and completes a fair catch, c) by B1 on his feet and he immediately goes to the ground, or d) by B1 on the ground and he makes no effort to get up or advance. Rulings: a) A’s ball, first-and-10 on A46. Three seconds on the clock. (No time runs off the clock). b) B’s ball, first-and-10 on A46. Three seconds on the clock. (No time runs off the clock). c) B’s ball, first-and-10 on A46. Two seconds on the clock. (One second runs off the clock). d) B’s ball, first-and-10 on A46. Two seconds on the clock. (One second runs off the clock). A.R. 4.2 b) During the last two minutes of the game the offensive team safety kicks from the A20. Ruling: Time in starts when the safety kick is legally touched by any player in the field of play. Note: No extension of the automatic timeouts in this section shall be allowed unless any player requests a team timeout, or a Referee orders a team timeout or suspends play himself
  4. Yeah, confused the **** out of me, too. I thought that was the whole !@#$ing point of a squib kick...
  5. Did you ever stop and wonder that may be Cam had a bad game because the defense played well?
  6. Again, two games in, after playing the anemic Bucs and the neutred Pats* (in a monsoon) their defensive stats mean precisely squat. Hamstrung? Conservative? Did you miss the seven or so bombs they unsuccessfully chucked down field? The reason we got to him was because their playcalls on offense were too aggressive. Shells of what they used to be? Who cares? Did the Pats* have Amendola tearing it up against us? Yes. Do they still have Brady? Yes. Did they have both Vareen and Ridley to play off one another? Yes. Who cares what they used to be, they were still decent on offense when they came to Buffalo. Same goes for Carolina: first overall pick Cam Newton, check. Steve Smith, check. Greg Olsen, check. Their backfield healthy, check. Ted Ginn, check. EBall called you out for being pessimistic. Sometimes I think you make it a point to be negative, and in doing so fail to make any point, whatsoever, particularly one that's grounded in reality.
  7. Never give up on your crusade against Wannshaft. Never.
  8. That's putting it lightly. It was a game changing call.
  9. I couldn't watch either, it was so bad.
  10. "Holding the Patriots*" is completely misleading given the weather, given the atrocious play of their receivers
  11. Well, you're wrong, so...
  12. I agree. I foresaw much confusion from Newton, and that pretty much came to fruition. I envision smith being completely befuddled.
  13. Just got $100 worth of NFL Shop gift certificates for everyone who used my link to buy Preseason Live. Thanks, everyone! I bought through Promo the Robot's link (or may be John from Hemet--one of those two). Hopefully you guys paid it forward, and got some rewards, too! GO BILLS!
  14. Yes, it was Freddy, not CJ. And I was referring to his intentional drop in the backfield. CORRECTION: Spiller was on the field. Please ignore.
  15. Uh...35 picks separate Easley from Graham...
  16. Steve Smith is a maniac. File under: news from six years ago.
  17. i thought i heard something something mother !@#$ing weight room.
  18. Yeah, but then he had to go wear and that stupid !@#$ing hat during his press conference. Seriously, when he's focused and determined, he's among the best in the league. There's no questioning that.
  19. !@#$ this thread and every thing it stands for.
  20. I had done that originally, but it's hard to find a sensible grouping. For example, if you have nine x three yard runs and a single nine yard run, then your 3-9 yards category doens't tell the whole story simply with the number 'ten.'
  21. Just the first two games. Don't know yet.
  22. So are 20+'s Again, we'll see how this evolves. I also plan to .gif the evolution so we see how the trends go up and down as the season progresses...
