Thank you. I keep seeing this on here and keep repeating it. Even if he doesn't start, Brown is on a dirt cheap rookie contract and would be a trusted player to step on the field in case of injury. He may not be here in 2018, but he will almost certainly be here in 2017.

This is very poor advice unless you happen to share a last name with a player

But if we learned anything in the 200 page Maclin thread it's that one injury makes someone injury prone

I would definitely agree that Decker better fits the Ravens needs and Maclin better fits the Bills needs than vice versa. The Ravens have their vertical threat in Mike Wallace. Unless they intend on running an Arians style all vertical passing offense, adding Maclin wouldn't best fit what they need. They need their dependable move the chains guy. Maclin *could* be that guy, but Decker is definitely better at being that guy. The Bills on the other hand, if they signed Decker, would have to use Watkins as their vertical threat instead of the do anything weapon he should be. -

At the end of the day, the Bills can probably offer more money, but the Ravens offer the opportunity to possibly be the #1 and (based on past results only) may represent a better shot of making the playoffs. He could always have his heart set on playing with his buddy McCoy, but just wants to meet with the Ravens to see what they have to offer him as far as opportunity and letting his former OC have a shot to impress. -

I also think he's a better fit Does that include 2016 for Decker where he only played a few games? Also IIRC he didn't have much playing time as a rookie. If you take those two years out I bet the averages are pretty similar -

For sure. They're pretty close, IMO, and I think the stats will show that. If I had to guess, I bet they'd both average out to somewhere around 65 catches and 900 yards per season for their fully healthy seasons. Decker probably has more TD since he got to play a couple years with Manning when he was racking them up. -

Listenbee waived with a non football injury designation. He is over a year removed from those hernia surgeries...looks like he may never see an NFL field. -

It doesn't say done deal. It says "pending incentives." My interpretation of the tweet is "salary of $4-5 million, parties still need to agree on incentives." I still take it with a huge grain of salt, I'm just discussing it because it's the topic at hand here. -

Maybe both sides of this argument are partially correct? Let's pretend that Bills Fanatics DOES have an inside source, and that Maclin DOES want to sign with the Bills. But he also wants to try to squeeze a little more out of them on the incentive side before signing. So his agent Condon reaches out to Schefter, who tweets that Maclin is also interested in the Ravens. That's then the leverage for negotiations. -

He was cut after the end of business Friday so he wasn't on the official transaction wire that the league releases near the end of each business day -

They would save exactly $0 on the cap by trading Watkins. His contract is fully guaranteed this season. -

Not only that, but pretend you're a defensive coordinator. The Bills come out in a 3 wide set with Watkins and Maclin split out. Zay Jones is in the slot, Clay at TE, McCoy in the backfield. How do you choose a receiving option to key on as a defensive play designer when any one of the options could hurt you bigly (thanks Trump) on any passing play? -

Both Smith and Taylor are limited, no doubt, but their limitations are different. Alex Smith will throw anywhere on the field within 11-14 yards from the LOS. He does not frequently take deep shots down the field. Tyrod on the other hand has shown no fear in uncorking a deep one outside the numbers, but doesn't frequently target between the hashes. Put their skills together and you have a hell of a QB. That being said, Maclin was miscast in KC's offense simply because his best attribute is being able to take the top off a defense as a legitimate threat to catch a deep pass. If Alex Smith is your QB, that deep pass isn't frequently happening. With Tyrod, I think Maclin is a much better fit. He could be the one on the other side of those deep shots that Goodwin and others were catching -

Is there really a dearth of depth though? With Kouandijo cut, they no longer have anyone that we've seen take snaps at LT to backup Cordy Glenn, but other than that it looks alright. Groy will be the interior swing man. He will replace Incognito, Miller or Wood in case of injury. Dawkins or Mills will be the RT. I'd assume at this point the loser of that competition will be the swing tackle but neither instills confidence at LT, IMO. Patrick Lewis will probably get cut due to his lack of versatility and Groy being able to play center negates the need to carry two true centers. That leaves Ducasse. Another guard. He doesn't fix any of the problems mentioned above. Yeah, he's on a cheap contract, but is keeping your 4th guard worth losing a 3rd round pick? Probably not. -
Yeah I'm sure they're faking it and the medical staff is in on it too
