  1. The thing that I like most about his skill set is when he cuts, he's creating huge separation at the moment of that cut. Not only is this bad news for the CB covering him, it also doesn't give the safety time to get there in time. Samuel consistently gets open in that 10-20yd window that Josh loves. He is a guy that will beat that 2 deep safety look, not only with crossers and V outs, he can be moved inside, outside and run a play out of the backfield. And once he has the ball in his hands, he's a dynamic runner. The Bills have consistently had a very good offense but they have not had a chess piece like this. The offense has not been good at fooling a defense, and Samuel could be the piece that keeps them on their heels more consistantly. Brady is going to move him around keeping the defense guessing and that is not only going to open up plays for Samuel, but for other skill players as well. I see the number of lethal weapons growing. Diggs, Cook, Kinkaid, Knox have all been productive. I see Samuel as a piece that diversifies what the offense can do. Opens up the play book. It is obvious that Brady's fingerprints are on this signing. A sneaky good pick-up for the Bills. Samuel is a legit WR in this league, with some impressive traits.
  2. John Brown got vertical clearing out a safety for Beasley to do his work underneath. Sometimes he just caught some monster catches with his speed. Curtis Samuel is much more of a Swiss army knife. Can play out wide like Brown but also does a lot of stuff over the middle and out of the backfield. He runs like a running back and cuts so hard that defenders are juked right out of their socks. The only thing similar to Brown is the speed. Everyone is going to love what Curtis Samuel brings to the table. He is going to light it up with those crossing routes and V outs. Some of Josh's favorite throws. Don't rule out simply handing the ball of to him either. He is an effective RB too.
  3. In my opinion, Josh has not let the team down in any playoff game. The defense on the hand....
  4. It's a good thing we have 10 picks this year. Defense has the potential to be a complete train wreck if they don't find help. I wonder how much buyers remorse Beane has over the Miller signing. Sure hope he bounces back. They have some key players, but very little depth.
  5. The defense lost many players to injury and there was a significant drop off last year. On top of that, 3 pro bowl caliber players in the secondary are gone in Poyer, Hyde and White. The Defensive Line has only 2 viable starting DTs and the DE position is very suspect. And if Milano goes down to injury again, the LB group will once again drop off significantly. Everyone is so focused on building a great offense that they are greatly underestimating how much we have lost on defense. There are some key pieces, but depth is a huge concern. Not sure how you can consider Edwards an upgrade. Poyer and Hyde were starters and Pro Bowlers in their career. Edwards wasn't even a starter until he was put in due to an injury last year. Hopefully, Our DEs bounce back. Hopefully injury doesn't decimate our secondary. Hopefully, you're right and Johnson is an upgrade to Settle and Ford. Gotta address depth on defense. Offense, could use a couple of pieces, but there is much more to be desired on defense.
  6. Many people here are disregarding the value of a strong defense. The notion that having a generational talent at QB means you must give him the weapons to be successful is actually correct, but the Bills have all ready been a top rated offense the last few years. It's not like he doesn't all ready have a lot of weapons. Defense though, gets the opposing team off the field and gives that generational talent QB back on the field, giving him more opportunities to make plays. There is value in that. Also, if the defense is weak, your generational talent QB is fighting an uphill battle to score more points because the defense is giving up points at an accelerated rate. I want a Diggs replacement as much as anyone, but you cannot ignore the fact that the defense has lost a lot of talent. Far more than the offense has. The WR or bust crowd may just find out that they get there wish and still bust. All because the defense turns into a complete tire fire.
  7. I think, the defense is critically under manned. No depth at nearly all positions. Any significant injuries and Josh will once again have to play at a superhuman level just to break even. Really concerned about DT, DE, safety, CB.
  8. I think it really boils down to value. If the players they value in the 1st are not there at 28, it completely makes sense to trade down and pick up another draft pick. I think a lot of people are completely ruling out the possibility that the 1st round pick could be something other than a WR. It is likely that Beane has 1st round grades on other positions. People may not like it, but DLmen have value too. I do think Beane wants WR over DL, but it is going to come down to where the value is. Beane absolutely could trade down in order to increase his chance at increasing value by adding another pick. I will say this, Beane has never done what I expect. Each year he's done something that surprises me. He's got a habit of trading up in the early rounds and trading down in later rounds. Whether that holds true this year....who knows?
  9. Page 99, maybe😄
  10. There is always an argument for drafting starters in order to get the cap under control. Realistically though, in any draft class, how will 10 guys be able to do that? I realize that not all will replace starters, but that is still the goal. So is improving the team. Don't see how both can be achieved, even if some of them will only be eventual starters. If 3 or 4 of them can actually start, that's some pretty good scouting and a good draft. You can load up on rookies in hopes of some of them panning out, but that is done every year, not just this year.
  11. If the WR they want isn't there in the 1st, they could trade down and perhaps pick up a 3rd. I can't help thinking there will be an early run on WRs.
  12. Another possibility. Beane could go DL in the 1st then trade up in the second and grab a WR(Why wait until day 3). I think his off season moves give him some flexibility. Every year Beane does something I don't expect. It's almost guaranteed he'll do it again. Although, he might really surprise me and not do any trades. Perhaps your right, Alphadawg7. It just seems to me that moving up in the 1st to get his guy might be too rich.
  13. Some of them are going to be better than anyone coming out the draft too.
  14. Chinn is someone the Bills have shown interest in the past. He didn't do great in Carolina, but he was a DROY candidate(came in second place). Both Poyer and Hyde were very underrated when the Bills picked them up in free agency and look how that turned out. I think too that Beane/McDermot prefer someone with experience at this position over draft prospects. Not sure Jeremy Chinn is who they target, but there are a lot of under the radar players like this at the safety position. He could be great in our system.
  15. I'd like to see more deep routes for him. He has been great with the short passes but as others have noticed he gets hit immediately after catch a lot. He's not a big TE but still big enough that defenders do not want to wrap up and tackle. They often go low and he isn't going to stay healthy for long with those quick pass, quick hit plays. He had one great pass deep middle I think all year that resulted in a TD. He's fast but for some reason, they rarely used that. Yes, he is great at finding soft spots in the defense, but there is still always a defender close enough to drop him quickly. The deeper routes though, for a guy his size, is more deadly IMO. Downfield, he has a head of steam and a chance for run after the catch. The WRs are great at clearing out space for their teammates, but it seems that the TE is forgotten in this respect. He can really a much bigger asset if used like a deep threat. That doesn't mean stop finding soft spots in a zone defense but exploiting a slow LB is not done near enough.
  16. Just as you said that Goff got sacked
  17. Hahaha. Wouldn't that be something.
  18. I would. Kelce is slow. Taron can jump that route.
  19. This is where the game is won....
  20. Not if Taron has anything to say about it.
  21. Man am I stoked! Taron is playing if he cleared protocol. So will Rasul. Bills Mafia are going to rock the house. Our edge rushers are chomping at the bit. Josh has been spreading the ball around nicely. Cook is comatose off the field but he'll be heating up come game time. Chiefs players will be sprawled all over the field and looking around to see if anybody got the plate number of that truck. This is it! The game they've been hoping for. Go Bills!!!
  22. Good. Their mistake, then.
  23. Good thing Josh is tall, then.
  24. Texans beating themselves with these penalties.
