Considering that the courts sided with the players about NIL money, and didn’t think of restrictions, I don’t think it’s a slam dunk that a suit would be rejected. Players and coaches these days frequently refer to players by their number. (Ex: McD and Josh’s teammates referring to him as 17).
So, if Daniels proves he’s known as “5” and was at LSU, a judge could rule in his favor. Of course, this would set a precedent and it wouldn’t take long before players’ numbers became three digits.
