  1. As usual, context matters. What sort of scheme was he in at Penn State? What was he asked to do? Many college teams do very little dropback passing, preferring to run quick-hitting throws to the first read or running RPO...How many real sack opportunities did he have? Were there any other good pass rushers on his team, or did he get most of the attention?
  2. I did read it again. What am I missing? There is zero indication that they intend to trade Rodgers...
  3. So you're saying the Packers are a "stupid franchise" based in large part on them turning down a trade offer you don't believe was actually made? Most illogical...
  4. If they can't, I wonder if they'll roll the dice on Farley...Injuries aside, he's right up their alley...
  5. That seems to be Beane’s MO, and he never moves back, so I’m thinking we end up picking in the early 20’s. I think it’s a bad move, because at that part of the draft, you really don’t know who’s going to be available. Identify 3 or 4 guys you want at that spot and wait for your pick to come up.
  6. I trust them, but they are not beyond criticism. They have made some highly questionable picks in the first two days of the draft, but those have been overshadowed by the home run they hit with the 7th overall pick a couple years ago. Until this team wins a Super Bowl or two, there will be plenty of room for criticism...
  7. Guess we’ll find out this weekend, won’t we? I say he goes in the 5th. There’s no question that Williams would be a core special teams guy right out of the gate (he’s blocked a bunch of punts, as well as returned like six for TDs) so I’m not sure how that’s not a great return on a 5th round pick, even if he never sees the field as a CB...although he’s a very good corner as well.
  8. Williams met with the Bills, so hopefully he’s on their radar. I’ve been told by some here that it’s silly for the Bills to draft Williams because he’s a UDFA-type player. That’s wrong, of course.

  10. No, it’s Avery Williams. https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4048259/avery-williams And I’ve been informed by some of the haters here that he’ll be available as UDFA. They’re wrong.
  11. I think that’s the pick, too. Perfect scheme fit. I’d prefer one of the WRs, but I doubt I’ll be consulted.
  12. Hell, they’re just as likely to get one at 15. Let em give up some picks for the chance to roll the dice...
  13. Like when the Pats traded their second round pick for Mohammed Sanu and he caught about 6 passes for them?
  14. Day 3 Crush: Avery Williams, CB, slot WR, special teams, Boise State.
  15. Unfortunately, I think there is a huge gap between Wilson and the rest of the QBs not named Lawrence. The Jets screwed up the first pick, then had a gift fall into their laps.
  16. John, the Bills already have 2 day-2 picks.
  17. And they appear to have whiffed on their three first round picks last year...I know it’s early, but none of the three looks good to this point...
  18. Correct. They used a 1st, a 2d and a 4th on tackles last year. I can’t see them taking Sewell here, even if he’s available.
  19. This is a valid point. There is a certain unfairness to incoming rookies, but they also benefit from other aspects of the CBA throughout the rest of their careers.
  20. It’s the NFL’s rules, as negotiated with the NFLPA. It’s one of the reasons the league NEEDS the NFLPA; the arrangement would be illegal if it were not collectively bargained.
  21. Why do you believe that? We already have two slow RBs...
  22. Jones to SF. Lance or Fields falls out of the first round. Tyson Campbell to Bills at 30. Bills move up to middle of second round to take Elijah Moore.
  23. Uh oh, I think this means we need to re-do the TSW Mock Draft...
