I remember a few years back, when Todd Gurley was getting MVP mentions as the Rams’ feature back. When he went down with an injury, the Rams plugged in Malcolm Brown and they didn’t miss a beat. I know Henry’s better than Gurley was, but the Titans are also a pretty solid all-around team. I still think they win the division and go 12-5, or better.

As great as he is, Henry is still just a running back and this is 2021. This is not nearly as big a setback for the Titans as it would be for a team losing its franchise QB. I don’t believe the Titans will suffer nearly as much as some predict.

Hate to see anyone injured, but when you give a RB that many touches, he’s going to get dinged up. I have feeling the Titans will still be very tough without Henry.

Lynn had every intention of playing Tyrod for half the season or more. Even after Tyrod was hurt and Herbert was lighting it up, Lynn said Tyrod was “still the starter”. That’s when I knew he would be fired.

I agree. Justin Herbert is another example. He graduated early from high school and participated in Oregon’s spring practices as an 18-year old. The upcoming seniors and juniors were all talking about him, saying he needed to start right away. Unfortunately, it took Mark Helfrich half a wasted season to figure that out. I’m guessing the guys on the Chargers were saying the same thing last season when Anthony Lynn was rolling out Tyrod as the starter…

This is pretty much the bottom line with the Watson situation, and it has been since the story broke. Unless he is vindicated, which seems highly unlikely, Watson is radioactive. No one, not even Stephen Ross, wants him as the face of their franchise. I think that’s also why Houston isn’t playing him: It would just be too embarrassing.

I think one thing we can all agree on is that the Watson saga is a strange and unprecedented situation, where the publicly available information is probably less than half of the whole story…we’re all just guessing, at this point.

Plenty of players have gone on the list without being charged with a felony—or any crime at all—with Kareem Hunt and Ben Roethlisberger being two notable examples.

“Positive” as in no criminal charges and the lawsuits all go away. As long as criminal charges are a real possibility, no one is trading for him.

The Watson trade rumors appear to have been put out by the Texans. Watson is still a Texan so yes, the rumors have been false, just like the one that he would be traded by the end of last week. I don’t believe anyone is trading multiple first round picks for him until there is a positive resolution of his legal situation.

So you’re saying Doc is wrong because Rappaport, who’s wrong all the time, has reported something? He works for nfl.com and/or NFL network. Not the same thing. And he’s been reporting (apparently) false Watson trade rumors for months.
