  1. It would not be enforceable. But I can guarantee the team could not care less about being held liable in this situation, for a lot of reasons that are too boring to go into.
  2. To quote the late, great Larry Felser, this is a “run for the bus” game for the Raiders.
  3. I take it back…this isn’t going to be remotely competitive
  4. Here’s a prediction: the Raiders will be very competitive today, and they will lose.
  5. Stidham looks pretty good….
  6. Is that a natural grass field?
  7. Are the Pats in if they win?
  8. What happens if Chiefs win, Bills lose and Bengals win? Who would host the second round game between Bengals and Bills? (Both would be 12-4, with no head-to-head tie-breaker.) It will be very interesting to see which “neutral field” is selected. I suppose it won’t be announced any time soon, and in fact might not even be necessary…
  9. I prefer Shaq Lawson
  10. Nashville’s kind of a warm weather city. I could see it.
  11. Zero chance, unless it’s in a warm weather city
  12. I did not say the Bills organization is not handling the matter properly. I said the lack of any real information about Hamlin's condition at this point is highly concerning.
  13. Not illegal with proper authorization from the family. I hate to say this, but the lack of any real information directly from the doctors is seriously concerning.
  14. That's true (Bears game being only the most recent example), but things were not looking good at all in Cinci, especially given the Bills' injuries...
  15. Yes, but the Bills and Bengals essentially got an extra bye by not having to play a full week 17 game...
  16. One way to look at is that, if the Bengals game is not replayed and the Chiefs thereby end up with the first seed, the Bills (and Bengals) still got an extra bye week since they did not have to play a full week 17 game. That alleviates some of the potential unfairness...
  17. I'm not sure why that matters. Furthermore, we still don't know what happened to Hamlin to make him collapse. It certainly seems to have had something to do with what happened on the field, but it may have been related to an undiagnosed medical condition. The collision in question appeared to be nothing out of the ordinary...
  18. If the Bills beat the Patriots and KC and Cinci lose, the number 1 and 2 seeds would be wrapped up. At that point, you could declare the game a tie, which would give the Cinci the AFC North title. That seems like a manageable situation but the odds of that happening are probably 20 percent or less.
  19. Yeah, there's not much doubt that Goodell can do pretty much whatever he sees fit.
  20. Not a bad solution, but it's not the only one. I think the league might be wise to just let the week 18 games go forward as scheduled before issuing a decision. There's a decent chance that after this week's games are played, the Bills-Bengals game would have a minimal impact on the final standings. The league rule doesn't seem to allow cancellation of a game that has serious competitive repercussions for other teams...
  21. The Bills played them in Cinci a few years ago (2018, I think) and we lost at least two players to cheap shots...
  22. Thank you. There is no reason both things can't be discussed. No discussion of playoff alternatives--here or anywhere else--will have any impact on Hamlin's medical condition.
  23. Right or wrong, I have to believe the most likely scenario is that the Bills-Bengals game is never resumed, and it goes down as either no game or a tie. That is probably the least un-fair result and, depending on the result of the games in week 18, it might not even have that much impact on the playoff seedings. We also need to remember that both of these teams have clinched playoff berths, so it's not a matter of them making the playoffs or not...There's no way to resume the game without changing the entire playoff schedule, which would just be too problematic.
