The Bills have the rarest and most precious asset in today’s NFL: A certified franchise quarterback, a guy who can win you games when everything else is going wrong. Beane of course deserves credit for drafting Josh Allen (and he probably would have been fired by now if he had not) but from that day forward, he and McDermott should be judged by one standard: How well have they leveraged this most precious asset? Unfortunately, the answer is “poorly”. Instead of loading up the offense to take advantage of JA, they have used most of their premium picks (and FA $) on a defense that still can’t slow down good offenses. The real bottom line is this: With Mahomes, the Chiefs have won a Super Bowl and reached the AFCC every year. The Bengals with two years of prime Burrow have reached the Super Bowl and at least the AFCC game this year. With three years of prime JA, we’ve reached one AFCC in which we were blown out. That represents a huge failure by the FO and the HC. How are these same guys going to turn that around? I have no idea…

I couldn’t care less. Oliver is a prime example of Beane drafting a JAG when difference-makers were available. We’ll have no problem replacing his “production”.

This team is not progressing. Other teams in the AFCE and the conference are. Poor drafting is catching up with the Bills; they are drafting replacement level guys, while our competition is drafting studs. Without Josh Allen, this team is a bottom feeder, battling it out with Houston. Of course, without Josh, Beane and McDermott are unemployed…

Chase is an OJ Simpson-level athlete. No CB in the league is going to make that tackle, in that much space.

He had zero chance to make that tackle on Chase in the open field.

I remember the play. White remained at least 8 yards off of Chase until the ball was snapped. Easiest 3rd and 5 pickup I’ve ever seen.

No, as opposed to annual AFCC games and Super Bowls, which is what the few franchises lucky enough to have QBs as talented as (or nearly as talented as) Josh Allen regularly achieve. Even the worst coaches in the history of this franchise couldn’t win less than 8 games with Josh Allen.

Wow, that’s one of the most myopic takes I’ve ever seen. Allen played badly today. Period. We can talk about the reasons for it, and context, etc., but he played badly and Burrow was damn near flawless. Sorry, but those are just facts.

I look at it differently: We might have won if we didn’t build a dome team. The way this team is constructed makes zero sense. A mini-rebuild is needed if we don’t want to feel like this every January.

Then you should prepare yourself for another early playoff exit. Without serious changes, we’ll be lucky to win the AFCE next year.

I don’t disagree, but you can’t argue that Burrow has been much better today.

No one is a bigger Josh Allen fan than me, but he’s been outplayed today. It’s pretty obvious.

If no major changes are made, we can expect this result every year in the playoffs vs KC and Cin.
