Good luck! My in-laws live in SB, so I’ve been there for games in the past. Unfortunately don’t remember specific Bills bars, but failing that, I’d just try a sports bar on State Street that has Sunday Ticket. Good luck!

Brady under fire for calling Josh a "spaz" on Sunday's broadcast...
MattM replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was not aware of the derogatory nature of the term in the UK—it sounds like it’s akin there to “R” word here, a word that immediately tells me the speaker using it is a jerk. I grew up in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s—back then it was slightly derogatory, but not offensively so. All that said, Brady has actually done lots and lots of charity work for years with the mentally and physically handicapped (it’s one of the few things I’ve admired him for) and I’m sure meant nothing derogatory by it. He’d probably be mortified that it could be taken this way. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little having to defend Tom Brady….. -
Make of it what you will. I’m tangentially in this area, but have not heard of these guys. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/arctos-talks-buy-minority-stake-220331673.html

If you want my tickets send me a PM with your email address. Yup. I tried to lower the price, but no luck. I trust Ticketmaster as far as I can throw them.

Do you want mine? I couldn't sell them.

My feed is jerking around every play. The commercials come in fine, though.... -
NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
MattM replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m kind of surprised he voted against—I strongly suspect this is all about liquidity for owners like him (and Mark Davis) who don’t have large assets outside his team. This allow them to get liquidity out of an illiquid asset. Can come in handy for things like family succession or divorces even, as well as just general funds for high in the hog living expenses. -
And I take back my original post—just learned I was thinking of another Rochester Guelli, so my bad! But glad to hear he’s a good guy!

Peacock subscription question ( Bills game related)
MattM replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Somewhat related question--I understand that the game is being shown on broadcast TV in the Chargers' home TV market. I'll be in Santa Barbara on Saturday. Does anyone know if the Chargers' home market extends to SB? -
NFL Week #15 - Cowboys at Bills pregame Thread

Hey, CGF—hope you’ve been well! And best of luck the rest of the way (just not today!) -
And a bunch of those losses are to teams we are clearly better than and shouldn't have even been close.

You mean you didn't love McD saving the Eagles by gifting them and their kicker a TO to compose himself? Very sporting of him, I thought....
-
What did you think of the genius calling a TO to give their kicker a chance to compose himself on the 59 yarder? That was mighty nice of him, I thought. Sporting even.
-
Absolutely brutal. Why the heck do you do that when he's got a 60 yarder. Make him kick it in a rush. Idiotic. A fireable offense, in my opinion, especially after he due the exact same thing vs the Broncos just 2 weeks ago.

Yes--on that play he was making sure Mixon wouldn't run through Joseph's arse....
-
I noticed the same thing. Let's play 10 yards off to cut off the deep route on 3 rd and 2.

What Did You Do that Caused the Bills to Lose?
MattM replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Indeed--our meal must have tipped the cosmic balance--either that or my forgetting to bring my Buffalo Bills colors cloth football I got for Christmas in the early '70's the year I got all Bills stuff for Christmas and which I've kept alI these years later and grip tightly every game I watch at home! That must have been it! -
Many, many thanks for putting that together last night—my son and I had a great time visiting a part of the city we wouldn’t have without some local help! And yes, please @GrimboG on sharing the photos, that would be much appreciated! Go Bills!

Speaking of the Jags’ owner, my son and I went to the Fulham-Sheffield Utd soccer game today and sat next to an old time Fulham fan who was (in a very British, understated way) cursing him out for not spending any money on the club. (He owns both Fulham FC and the Jags—thank God there’s no hockey team involved!) Somewhat shockingly, the best seats in the house/stadium where Fulham plays are unusable because the builders did a crappy job and that part of their stadium is unstable. Unreal in the modern sports era I’d have thought. Time to sue the builders and rebuild that part of the stadium….. And yes, I second the emotion above about gazillions of Bills fans compared to a handful of Jags fans. I’ve never said “Go Bills!” this many times outside our stadium….

Can't make the game this weekend, so want to sell my tickets responsibly to Bills fans if possible. Will take $350 each for them ($700 total). PM me if interested. Go Bills!

Many thanks--I've decided to bite the gullet and just do a cab from the airport which my hotel arranged. Just don't want to get stranded on Friday--too much to try to do and see!
-
We're unfortunately arriving on Friday, so I just tried to order a cab via our hotel's concierge desk. London also has Uber so we should all be prepared for surge pricing being in effect on Friday. Time to check on what's near the hotel for Friday afternoon activities....

Many thanks again. This article lists the train lines impacted by the strikes (although it's tough to tell which days which lines are striking, as there are apparently several days) and unfortunately HE is in the list of striking railways: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/09/24/train-strike-dates-2023-rail-services-affected-aslef/
