  1. I agree. That is some damn good writing.
  2. Now those sound like some interesting games...I'd be willing to work on one or two if people are interested. Those two Bills-Dolphins games are probably great to see again, especially the 1983 game.
  3. Wait a minute, you don't have XXV on tape or DVD? I've got that one stored away somewhere as well. I've never brought it out because I could never bear to look at it again. But if people would like that one on DVD I'd be happy to set aside my fears for the greater good.
  4. Wow, someone out there did the same as me? I agree...we have it so great now.
  5. There could be something more to this, but I would be willing to accept that TD is doing whatever possible to make enough cap room to re-sign Phat Pat and Jonas at the same time. Although TD is a big bluff artist, I don't doubt his repeated contentions that he is most concerned with keeping his own guys rather than going out and buying them from FA. It'll take some big bucks to keep those two (plus Clements) here, so if there is cap room to be had, he'll find it.
  6. I'll look into doing it in the next couple of days, so I'll let you know how it goes. Do people generally prefer two DVDs or one double-sided DVD?
  7. Now that's what I'm talking about. Now if you'll excuse me, there's a brand new iPod Shuffle here that needs playing with.
  8. C'mon Tom...you can do it....
  9. Do I get a cut of any tips for that one?
  10. If anyone wants me to take the original tape (including pre-game material, Gulf War breakaways, commercials, and post-game festivities) and include everything on 2 DVDs, let me know and I'll do that. Actually, Fez, maybe I should do that anyway in case someone wants a double-sided disk? Anyway, if that's an interesting proposal, let me know. If enough folks respond, I'll try to do it. Shouldn't be too hard.
  11. But only if they're not fat and nice.
  12. Cool! Another stevestojan-DCTom thread. What has it been since the last one, half an hour?
  13. Thanks, Fez, for handling the distribution of that one. I loved that entire game. I had wanted to include the whole tape from start to finish, but I used the entire 4 hours of the VHS tape and there was no way for me to do that without some sort of advanced compression technique, which I don't have access to. Plus, the quality of the video is poor enough to begin with, and that much compression would reduce the quality even further. As you pointed out, there were many interruptions in the game, as the first Gulf War was only 5 days old at the time. I edited those out, although they were pretty interesting to watch. Even with all of those sequences, as well as commercials, edited out, it still needed more editing. I had to edit out the pre-game show (pretty lame stuff, actually) and some of the post-game festivities. But the game is all there, except for the few plays that were missed because of the news breaks. It was taped on NBC in Buffalo. I also noticed a couple of things... Norwood does miss a 45 yard FG, same camera angle, same wide right, same apparent ball trajectory (missed by about a foot around the same height). It is amazing how similar it looks to the Super Bowl miss. Kelly, for all his faults, was actually pretty mobile. Sounds silly, but he was constantly moving around, scrambling a bit, just buying time. He wasn't nimble by any means, but I was surprised to realize how much he did move around. Nobody could cover Lofton or Tasker, as you mentioned. What a trip!
  14. Speaking of the NFL Network, they are saying that the channel is available in HD. Does anyone currently get this channel in HD?
  15. I can't read his articles....English is the only language I know.
  16. Do the announcers realize that they don't have a 2nd rounder this year?
  17. Yes, but was it broadcast in HD??? On a serious note, the reaction to the antibiotic is something really amazing. We've seen it in our hospital once or twice. Very dramatic. It's one of those rare pearls we are always taught to keep in mind.
  18. I'm betting that Mularkey learned his lesson in the season finale. We'll see.
  19. The thing about the Patriots that is both impressive and infuriating is that they are an incredibly disciplined team. You can see it on offense and defense. On offense, the things that always gets me is how they manage to convert third downs, no matter what the distance. They always seem to have at least one receiver open, and it appears to be a combination of good strategy, good route running, and good decision-making by the QB. On defense, they always seem to know where to be. Defenders constantly are in position to make the play, and they rarely miss. That seems to be a combination of good strategy, good study, and very disciplined play. It's impressive, but it sucks. I hate them.
  20. Didn't you already post this 15 minutes earlier?
  21. All that and 16 fumbles this season to boot!
  22. Centers is listed as a New England Patriot for 2003, so the answer would be yes. He didn't get a lot of play time, though. He actually had more rushing attempts than receptions, which is pretty unusual for him.
  23. Man, folks around here are getting cranky...
  24. I'm ready to see Henry leave as much as anyone, but calling him "brittle bones" is a bit unfair. Anytime a linebacker, or anyone as big as a football player for that matter (kickers and punters aside), puts their full weight in the middle of your lower leg, it will snap. Just ask Terrell Owens, not exactly someone I would label "brittle bones". His injury isn't exactly like some others...ones where ligaments are stretched or shoulders popped out or backs are strained, whatever. Physics happens and legs break. Nothing you can do about it, and nothing about a guy's past history will change how easily it will break.
