Now you have me confused. I thought not all blocked kicks are considered live balls. In the snowy Denver-Oakland game on Sunday, Denver tried a FG to win the game, but it was blocked. It still travelled forward, however. But I thought as long as nobody from Oakland touched the ball, it was considered dead. Isn't that what happened in the famous Dallas-Miami Thanksgiving game? Didn't Dallas block a Miami FG, but as the ball dribbled toward the Dallas end zone, that infamous brain-dead Leon Lett tried to fall on the ball for some unfathomable reason? And once he touched it, it became a live ball, and Miami recovered near the end zone, to eventually win the game? How does that work with the Detroit-Minnesota game?

True, although technically speaking I said "Thurman, or any other running back" in reference to any running back other than McGahee. But it's a good point since McGahee did happen to flatten the guy.

The Sam Adams quote from Sullivan's "I'm Grumpy 'Cause I Can't Be Negative" column is just classic. I just think this, and everything we're hearing from the players, is really good news for us. Maybe not this season, but certainly for next year and beyond. I think everyone on the team is beginning to realize that Mularkey really does have a clue, they're starting to believe in him as a coach. Hell, I'm believing in him as a coach, but if he's getting the attention and respect of this team, that only means good things in the future. Guys will want to stick around this team. And next year, from the start of the season in Week 1, we'll have a team full of guys that know what they're supposed to do and believe in it. Me likey.

I can't recall Thurman, or any other running back of ours, ever stiff-arming a defender with such power and success as McGahee did yesterday on his way to the end zone. Too bad he went out of bounds at the one; that was ESPN highlight material if he made it in. He is one big, powerful dude.

Can't really argue with you on this, but then again...in the NFL, a mediocre team is a dangerous team. Beating a mediocre team is a good thing, as you say, but manhandling a mediocre team on the road is something more significant. If we had throttled Seattle like this with the game in Buffalo, I'd be happy. Doing it in Seattle is another ball of wax.
