Because he is 30 and just came off the worst year of his career. Chan Gailey's offense doesn't utilize his strength, but is better suited to players who can come over the middle which Evans is not good at. There are only two years left on Evans deal and he will be gone then. Da Joker, David Nelson, Donald Jones, Marcus Easly, Roscoe Parrish and Naaman Roosevelt, which one are you releasing for nothing instead? Plus we just might get something for him. I'm am for this for various reasons and I really don't think it hurts the team that much.

They do when they have garbage QB's. Serious this thread displays this boards ignorance. Put Evans on a good team with a good QB and he will have minimum 1100 yards 8 TD's per season. You guys really have no clue what you are talking about and Evans has been one of the few bright sports over the last few years. Our offensive line sucks, our QB sucks and those are the only reason Evans doesn't produce to his potential.

When I was like 13-15 I used to prank Dickerson and Clip Smith. As well as many other on WGR. I used to call Clip Smith every night and as soon as he said whatever alias I gave him I would flush the toilet. I did it for a few weeks. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. Levi Jones when healthy is a pro bowl caliber player. He is better then any offensive lineman we have and if added would be a huge addition.

Your friend is way off here. Bruce Smith is the 2nd greatest defensive end to ever play the game of football. Reggie White being the first. You can argue Deacon Jones, but I believe that was a different era and the head slap for Christ sake! Do you know how many more sacks Bruce and Reggie would of had if they were allowed to slap the offensive lineman in the side of the helmet? The answer is a lot more. Strahan was a great player and will be in the HOF, but he is simply not on that top tier with the greatest of all time. Reggie, Bruce, LT, Deacon and even Derrick Thomas were all better in my opinion.
