  1. Wouldn't "getting the arms down" constitute holding? Wouldn't they physically have to bring these arms down by grabbing them and pulling them down?
  2. Are you saying all first-teamers should basically mail in all training camp and their preseason games?
  3. This is actually incredibly fascinating. Puts a whole new spin on the complexity of the gut microbiome.
  4. Not quite. You and I can openly talk about Cordy's health problems as we are in no way connected to Cordy's healthcare. We could broadcast it from roofs and not be in violation of HIPAA. That said, Cordy is the only person who can legally reveal his health problem. Here: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/administrative/privacyrule/ That said, it's likely best for his employer and his fellow employees to keep their mouths' shut.
  5. I'm certainly OK with vets beating out rookie OLs and the DL that lead the league in sacks last season embarrassing them, it should be expected. But to cut one during their rookie preseason would be a huge mistake.
  6. What ever happened to him wanting to retire? Guess that was code for "hold-out".
  7. I'm pretty sure Kiko's a universal donor, so take one out of him. And, besides, Kiko can grow another one back anyhow.
  8. I don't understand. We are saying the same thing. What exactly did I say that was "way off"? If you work for a pharmacy, you are considered a healthcare worker caring for a patient. You are directly involved in that patient's care. Same for the health insurance company clerk paying your claim. Lay people, not involved in a patient's care in any way, can talk away all they want. No HIPAA violation. Correct. But there doesn't have to be a HIPAA violation. Cordy could have told his sister, who told her best friend, who told their nephew, etc... In this case, no HIPAA violation occurred.
  9. I would like to see him put on a few more pounds. http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/2/3/5375884/jared-lorenzen-northern-kentucky-river-monsters
  10. I think it's pretty damning for a seasoned vet to publicly call out a younger teammate like this. It's damning because Kyle probably knows 100x more stuff about Dareus than what is reported in the media (which is bad in itself).
  11. Is not being in shape an "injury"? If anything, it should be a trigger for a player to be on the field even more, especially this early in the year.
  12. I agree there. While the public can certainly openly speculate, they don't have the *right* to know.
  13. 1) it's not a "technicality". It's a federal law and the law is very clear and delineated. "Many poster" violating HIPAA, as the post above says, are simply not violating HIPAA. Are people violating his privacy? Perhaps, but that is up to Cordy to decide. 2) We don't know this. Perhaps this information originated from Cordy himself. In that case, no HIPAA violation occurred. Nevertheless, the point still stands, "many posters" here, as clearly written in the post above, are not showing a "blatant disregard for HIPAA". There is only one single poster here whose motivations are questionable. The rest are just people being people on the internet.
  14. Wrong. HIPAA only applies to healthcare workers discussing patients in their care. Random laypersons discussing another persons health problems is not a violation of HIPAA. That said, we do not know how EMoulds is involved in Cordy's healthcare, considering he is the only one with concrete information here.
  15. Bingo. Although they may have a differential diagnosis, I doubt Cordy's doctors even know exactly what is wrong with him. Making these diagnoses is not as clear cut as people think, especially in a young person. If they've focused on his kidneys, he may need a biopsy for more answers, which takes time. I think if anyone is worried about being left in the dark, it's probably Cordy himself.
  16. True. But based on the "rest of the season" comment, I think we can all agree he's not home in bed with the sniffles. And if it was football related, I think they would've come out already and revealed the problem (like they did with Kiko).
  17. A true kidney issue, stones aside, is never a good thing in a young man. This situation is reminiscent of Easley a few years back.
  18. I just hope it's not a contract issue being hidden inside an "illness" issue. That seems like a common ploy. Hope he feels better soon anyhow.
  19. This is horrible, horrible news. Not only will our defense going to take a hit, this is likely to stunt Kiko's development. What's Cory Wire doing these days?
  20. God bless his soul, but I think that's because Kelly used to throw up some real stinkers every now and again (imagine that!). Sure, he was a HOF QB, but he was also sounded by a HOF o-line, HOF WRs, HOF RB, and a consistent top-5 defense. Even EJ would've shined on those teams.
  21. I'm not too worried about that. For one reason or another, it happens. What concerns me even more is that Gus Bradley didn't think him being on the roster made the Jags D a better unit.
  22. They paid more money on Old Fashioneds than I pay on dinner out with my wife and kid. But, you can't expect public sympathy when you hold out for a bigger contract AND for go broke spending it. One or the other. Plus the handful of women asking for child support. Do they count as family?
  23. Fantastic Sam
  24. Come on guys, "things happen".
