It looks like the wheels of the Geno Smith bandwagon are falling off. Too bad. He looked special earlier in the year.

Thread for intelligent football dicussion
Saint Doug replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this indeed was an intelligent discussion, the OP would have mentioned that we should have drafted a QB 1-2 years ago for "grooming" purposes. Only losing organizations wait till their QB completely fizzles out before drafting his replacement. Fitz has more balls than anyone on the defense

You are absolutely correct here. But this statement proves you are drunk. Sleep it off. -
Roll Call: Jealous of the Colts for having Andrew Luck
Saint Doug replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would rather draft one and have the feeling that we may have our franchise QB, a sense that we are progressing and the future will be OK (a false sense of security or not), rather than deal with Fitz (or some other garbage QB) for another year. -
Patriots looking for next franchise QB...
Saint Doug replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is how real organizations develop their QBs. They're suppose to be drafting a QB for 3-5 years down the line, something the Bills don't understand. Green Bay did the same thing. -

I think you misunderstood me. My post was not sarcastic. I agree with you. -
An Edifying Discourse: The Case for Losing
Saint Doug replied to Juror#8's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But, we as fans, are not playing the games. The Bills players are. Therefore, there's a clear distinction of what fans want and what players strive for. I don't think anyone here wants the Bills to purposely tank the season (although I have my doubts sometimes). But, if they were to give an effort, their current effort, but still lose out, I don't see any problem there. Winning insignificant games against last place NFC teams have hurt is more than helped us. But we have shown complete ineptitude in trying to draft a franchise QB from the 6-10th position. It just hasn't happened. It's like the Bills are waiting for lightening to strike when it's not even raining. In contrast, although there are no guarantees, there's not one person on this board who would admit that the chances of getting a franchise QB are equal between picks 1-6 versus picks 6-10. -
An Edifying Discourse: The Case for Losing

Speaking of which, the Bills play the Jags on December 2nd. Under no circumstances should the Bills win this game. That is a must lose. If they're going to win one single game more, it better not be the Jags. -
Player changes at One Bills Drive

Awesome! I love the dumpster diving part of the year. A chance to find tomorrows superstars. Anyone lnow anything about these gems? -
Bills vs Jax? That is a MUST lose game if there ever was one.

New Member....here's the Fix needed in Buffalo IMO
Saint Doug replied to HeatsPix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that his old form was any good either. Even at his peak, Vick was never the type to win a Superbowl. Jeff Gacia? I'm all for that. Maybe we can pick up Jason Garrett once he gets fired and he can double as our QB too. Jeff George is always available. -
I've got it.......CHARLIE WHITEHURST!

Dumpster driving at its finest. This belongs in the Billy Volek category. -
I dunno. I think it would be hard for Jax to give up on Gabbert already. He's been injured, but he has definitely improved over last year. Besides, do young QBs already have to be superstars by their 2nd year in order not to get cut? Many great QBs would have been cut given that standard. I'm more worried about Oakland and KC stealing a QB that is rightfully ours.

Let's hope this gives them a spark and they start winning some games for us.

What makes people think this guy will be around when we pick 6th? Look what happened to Von Miller and Keuchly.

Whoops. Too many beers.

We'll undoubtedly get the one no one else wants. That seems to be how we role.

Meddling owner. I'm sure every GM enjoys being micromanaged.

I'm glad the defense has been called-out. Many people on this board believed we would have had a top-10 defense based on the changes that were made, myself included. But it didn't work out that way. If it had, we likely would have lost only 1-2 games by this point, or even been undefeated.

Tyron Smith - anyone following this?
Saint Doug replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did find it ironic on how all these people are trying to get his money and then the next line was how he is being represented by these attorneys. That's just another form of people trying to swindle you out of your money. -
That email reads like some of the drunken posts we get on here on Sunday evenings.

I'm fairly sure he never had any surgery. This is just a ploy for him to save face. Sullivan: "Mario, why have you been sucking? Is it because you're not putting forth any effort and lazy?" Williams: "Well, because I've been injured, but I'm all better now after my surgery *wink, wink* (which miraculously healed over the span of a couple days, by the way)". I fully expect him to play lights out now.

Trade For Vick AND Draft A QB
Saint Doug replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If his name wasn't Vick, but some other name with the same performance, no one here would want him. -
You just made me want to get off the couch and wander my ass into the eye of the hurricane outside.

In the grand scheme of things, I just don't get the Bills would be better with Vick comments. I'm not a Fitz supporter be any means, but he runs an offense that scores a lot of points, more than Vick's offense. Fitz's biggest problem is turnovers at very in opportune times (and then our D loses the game for us). Guess who else has the same problem? Fitz has thrown 9 INT with 3 fumbles. Vick, 8 INT with 5 fumbles. Yesterday's game was an anomoly for Vick. He usually singlehandedly gift wraps wins for other teams. So, Vick can throw a ball farther than Fitz. Look where that got him? Pretty much nowhere. We would crucify Vick here. Haven't we had enough of QBs who are mistaken prone? Have our standard fallen that much over the years. Plus, I would be careful in saying that Vick behind our line would be so much better. We just don't know. Our line is very good, but this success is partially due to Fitz. He can't throw a ball more than 20 yards, so he gets rid of the ball quickly. Vick wouldn't be getting rid of the ball as quickly. Saying that we would want Vick over Fitz is like picking a Dodge Dart over Kia Rio. I wouldn't want either one. Enough with the cast-offs already. Why do we always get stuck picking the lesser of two evils? I couldn't possibly believe either one would lead us to a Superbowl.
