Sure, there was plenty of healthy debate on who would be the better QB, but once the Colts picked Manning, there was not one single person who thought it was a bad pick. People generally respected the pick, did not look upon it as negative. If you still think they took flack, you should be able to dig up just one link after the conclusion of the draft where the Colts took flack. I think you must be too old to remember. You don't seem to even be able to differentiate between posters.

I don't think you got my point. If we had started Thigpen, we would very likely be first in line for the best QB in this coming draft. Instead, we have enjoyed another horrible season with no prospect in drafting an elite QB. We've seen this show before and will continue to watch it again and again just as long as we are satisfied with the status quo around here.

I don't know about Polian. What he did in Buffalo was pre-free agency and he has yet to show he can build a team (key word here) since then. And imagine where the Colts would have been if they never selected Payton. Payton came gift-wrapped to them. He was the #1 consensus pick.

The thing that gets me is that both GMs and coaches think their hiring of personnel is just a game. We see it over and over, GMs hiring coaches they owe a favor to or coaches that will be "yes men". And we see it in coaches selecting their staff too. The best man available is rarely hired. Now, Nix has a dilemma on his hands. His steadfast conviction for Chan may actually get him fired. And this is not a scenario unique to the Bills. We see it all around the league. There is one exception though, Bill Belichick. Love him or hate him, there's no screwing around on the staff there. There's no personal favors being handed out there.

Unfortunately, given the way our defense gives up points, I do think Fitz gives us the best chance. Anyone who thinks Thigpen is going to come in and score over 30 points is nuts. Geez, how soon we forget preseason. As for TJ, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes there. There's more to that story that none of us are privy to. Now, that said, looking at the whole picture, the best thing this franchise could have done for itself was to start Thigpen from game 1. I bet the Jets regret not starting McElroy from game 1

Well, the Bills managed to mishandle Alex Tanney, so I doubt they'll do the right thing with a trick shot kicker. The guy's awesome though.

No, the odds are not for every QB in any draft becoming a bust. At least 1 guy, maybe 2, per draft become great players.

I'd totally be down with this provided we also draft an early round QB to develop. However, I have seen no indication that he will be traded. It's too early to tell what they have in Kaepernick, plus why trade away a QB that you have proven you can win with?

Out of 3 full drafts, Spiller is the only pick he really nailed. That said, we really can't judge this year's draft class yet, but the point still stands. There's some picks from this year's draft class that are looking to be fantastic picks, they're just not playing for the Bills. But this was just a knee-jerk pick so they could deal him to the NYG. He was basically picking Manning for them. He never intended Manning to play a down for SD.
