  1. I’m generally not crazy about the loan forgiveness but, in the big picture government money has gone to worse things and no one blinks an eye. For 20 years congress spent trillions on a pile of sand in Afghanistan and Iraq. Billions go to corporate welfare, corporate bailouts and tax breaks for millionaires but that ok because they are the “important people.” At least this money is helping young Americans who need it.
  2. What a dope. Reminds me of Dukakis in the tank helmet.
  3. You bring up some good examples of threats from the left. Certainly, there are issues on both sides to some extent. In my opinion, it’s all wrong and should be condemned whoever does it, right or left. However, the difference that I see is the use of guns and assault weapons in political advertising for many republicans. This is planned, scripted use of threatening weapons, suggesting their use for political purposes. Look at the ads in the link I posted above. If you know of such advertisements from dems, let me know. It I haven’t seen them. Today, in Buff News they have story of Palladino saying that Merick Garland should be executed. Now, he did walk it back later and people on both sides have spoken with emotion before thinking. In my opinion, planned advertising is worse since it is scripted and designed to motivate and generate a response. Some day, some nut job is going to take the hint and try to become famous. I don’t think that is the political world we want to live in.
  4. The witnesses at J6 are not left wingers. They are all republicans who worked in Trumps administration. The FBI and other law enforcement are generally not left wingers. Election workers are not necessarily left wingers. Why would a CEO for Dominion be a left winger? Is everyone who speaks against Trump a left winger? FYI -There are plenty of life long conservative republicans who do not support the guy.
  5. So what’s the worst that happens if after 50 years of climate adaption technology and policies we find out it was all for naught? Oh, our children and grand children get cleaner air, more efficient vehicles, cleaner energy and more efficient buildings. The horror! Earth is the only place we got to live for all of our future generations. Personally, I want my grandkids grandkids to have a place to live.
  6. Those are college students doing role playing. They are not actual IRS agents.
  7. I do remember Waters who did not act appropriately. Any incitement of violence is wrong. Can we agree on that? The Dems went on to choose Biden, who is about the least radical politician they could find. My comment really pertains to the messaging politicians are sending to their followers. Many Republicans are following a bad path.
  8. Unfortunately, America has a history of race related riots. Tulsa massacre, Detroit, etc. No, there is no comparison on the right though Tulsa was plenty bad. Democrat leaders opposed the violence too.
  9. This is something I have been thinking about for a while. First, let me preface this by saying that by no means do I think that all republicans support violence. I know plenty, including gun owners, that are fine people. Second, I support the right to own guns, with limits. Third, all political violence is wrong, regardless of which side is doing it. However, there is a significant and apparently growing segment of the R party, including politicians, who promote the symbols of violence in their messaging. Others are actively forming alliances with violent groups. This is beyond the usual political rhetoric of “fighting” for a cause. Specific things I am referring to include: Politicians using assault weapons in political messages on all media platforms Politicians holding guns, talking of “hunting down” their opponents Armed right wingers with assault weapons occupying public spaces at political events Politicians forming alliances with militia thugs like Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, etc. or white supremicist groups Politicians mixing guns with religion, like “Christmas photos of our armed family”, Flags saying God, Guns and Trump, etc. Death threats against Fauci Death threats against Dominion Voting CEO Death threats against J6 committee Death threats against J6 witnesses Death threats against election administrators and volunteers Death threats/ violence against FBI Death threats against anyone who speaks out against Trump All of this is normalizing the idea of using violence to achieve political goals. While there has certainly been instances of violence or excessive rhetoric on the left, there really isn’t a comparison to how the right is using guns in political messaging. Examples of such messaging are here https://www.americanprogressaction.org/article/guns-and-political-violence-play-central-role-in-maga-republican-campaign-ads/ Politicians need to debate issues without using guns to enhance their macho factor. Get the guns out of politics! Nothing good is going to happen if politics follows this path.
  10. The whole voter fraud issue is about preventing the counting of votes from people in cities. People act surprised when election results change when large numbers of votes from cities are tallied. If there was any evidence of fraud, it would have been uncovered in 2020 with all the scrutiny and law suits but not a single court found any credible evidence. The concern is always about “fraud” in cities. Why not look at rural or suburbs? It’s never been a real issue and you would have to be a moron to commit a federal crime to help a sleazy politician, who may not even win.
  11. Here in communist democrat controlled NYS, they are stringing broadband cable up all over the hills to provide high speed internet. I’ve seen it on roads where the houses are a half mile apart with nothing but woods and fields, miles from the nearest city and they are running cable to those houses with Trump flags.
  12. This is dumb. There are plenty of people in poor rural, red America receiving government money. Everyone wants the government money when it helps them and their community or businesses. Everyone thinks the government is wasting money when it is spent to help the “other” people.
  13. I would replace steal with possess, but that is ultimately the million dollar question. What was his intended purpose to have them? With who did he or his associates share them?
  14. That sucks for Zach and the Jets fans. There was a time pre-Allen when the Bills “could never have anything nice” so I can sympathize with them.
  15. I believe they are legal. I’m not sure if the drive to succeed would be different if you risked your life to get here illegally through Mexico. Most just want to keep their head down and work. Although, I'm sure there are some bad apples as there are in most any group.
  16. Most immigrants I know work their ass off to carve out some modest success in this country. They emphasize education for their children so they can have a better life. It doesn’t surprise me at all that US citizens have a higher arrest rate. A lot of Americans are lazy, doped up entitled addicts who don’t seem to care about working to succeed in this country.
