  1. Hackett is as good as gone! C ya Pop Warner OC. If Marrone lands another HC job, let's see what he really thinks of Hackett.
  2. I've noticed aside from stories written from information gained from NFL insiders, Matthew Fairburn seems privy to pro-Marrone information or steers his columns in that direction. For example, his recent articles on Spikes happiness in Buffalo and Marrone's courtesy call to Hughes. Fairburn was pretty quick to post on article about the players reluctance to change and support for Marrone. His article on Marrone changing culture and Russ Brandon addressing in speculation. I get theses are all hot topics and all seem very pro-Marrone. Coincidence it's the Syracuse writer taking this position? This guy owe something to Marrone? Marrone (and/or) select FO folks have this guy on speed dial? Heck, this guy even got a interview with Hackett about his opinion on EJ's progress. Hackett has a Marrone shield in front of him. Check it out for yourself and watch out for this guy's kool-aid. http://connect.syracuse.com/staff/mfairburn/posts.html
  3. Sure but be realistic. He'd be traded to NFC before AFC. The rehabilitation program in Foxboro is likely for a 5th.
  4. Smoke and mirrors Gameplan designed to make Hackett look competent.
  5. With passes actually +10 yards down the field it looks like the gameplan has been designed to make Hackett look competent. Expect more play calling to pad passing stats and boost WR numbers. Marrone will point to this game as progress to save Nate's job. Sadly, we're going to be stuck with our Pop Warner OC next year and will be back to run-run-check-down-pass-out starting week one next year.
  6. Fire Hackett and hire Giants OC. He knows how to get his star WR the ball.
  7. It will be interesting in the next 10 days to see if the Pegulas decide to bring in an outside consultant to evaluate the organization for the balance of the year. With the playoffs almost out of sight it seems now is the time to do so.
  8. Firing Hackett would be another step in the right direction but would send a bad message to ownership about Marrone's judgement in the first place since he hired him. Marrone will likely fall on the sword for his staff since a move like that would have little impact because Marrone would be calling the plays from a playbook that's not working with Spiller and WRs. Time to sit CJ down and see if Bryce Brown can provide a spark with Jackson. Whaley should get on the phone with Jerry Jones and move CJ for a conditional pick. He'd be great spelling Murray behind that O Line.
  9. C'mon man! This isn't fantasy football.
  10. Since 2009 there are just as many starting QBs today drafted outside Round 1. Statistically odds are against Round 1 QBs. Bottom line, without the first overall pick we're more likely to find a starting QB outside the first round. 2009 1.1 Matt Stafford 1.5 Mark Sanchez 1.17 Josh Freeman 2010 1.1 Sam Bradford 1.25 Tim Tebow 2011 1.1 Cam Newton 1.8 Jake Locker 1.10 Blaine Gabbert 1.12 Christian Ponder Current Starters drafted outside Round 1 in 2011 2.3 Andy Dalton 2.4 Colin Kaepernick 2012 1.1 Andrew Luck 1.2 RGIII 1.8 Ryan Tannehill 1.22 Brandon Weedon Current Starters drafted outside Round 1 in 2012 3.12 Russel Wilson 3.25 Nick Foles 4.7 Kirk Cousins 2013 1.16 EJ Manual Current Starters drafted outside Round 1 in 2013 2.7 Geno Smith 3.11 Mike Glennon Verdict still out on 2014.
  11. Time to stop embarrassing yourselves as NFL talent evaluators. Make the QB change now and you may just save your job (with the exception of Hackett. He's no good)
  12. This is the NFL. Each season has 16 games and I'm not going to wait for this staff to watch this guys development after +28 games. Just look at Cousins or Foles after a few games. Enough! If they can't realize this guy can't hit water if he fell out of a boat they should be released too. Hackett should go to pop warner football or play video games. Show some balls and make a change!
  13. Well said.
  14. EJ doesn't help but Hackett in way over his head when he's up against an experienced D coordinator. Should have never been hired into this situation with a young QB.
  15. Junior Varsity? Try Pop Warner. His head will be on the chopping block if this offence doesn't perform. Pieces are in place around him on the coaching staff to take over with Marrone calling the plays.
  16. Carrington's agent is Eugene Parker. Hopefully after the draft there are no ties with Parker now or in the foreseeable future.
  17. Check out the guy's bio. He doesn't know the first thing about football. He should focus on Toronto basketball and soccer to figure out those losing cultures. Cathal Kelly is a Toronto Star sports columnist with a focus on basketball, the NBA, Toronto Raptors, soccer, Toronto FC, the MLS and the international game. Reach him at 416-945-8702.
  18. "If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on, now, Cause there's too many places I've got to see" ...and this Byrd you cannot change.
  19. Cleveland front office is a gong show. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24416324/scott-fujita-browns-players-were-embarrassed-by-chudzinski-firing
  20. Hackett ran the offence with training wheels this year. I'd like to know how much of the playbook he opened this year...25%?
  21. If you compare Spiller with the likes of McCoy and Charles, both those guys see 25 to 30 touches a game week in and week out. I know Spiller has been banged up but Hackett should have been more patient with him yesterday and let him get in a groove. These Bills backs platoon like each play is an amusement park ride. Go once then get back in line to do it again. Never mind confusing the other team's Defence, Hackett has his own team confused!
