  1. No, he's smart from a financial standpoint. He's made $63 million over his career playing it safe.
  2. Journeyman QBs are always playing for their next contract. Remember how Rob Johnson would take terrible sacks because he refused to throw the ball away. It's because he understood that incompletions hurt his negotiating position more than sacks. Tyrod had a similar understanding about interceptions so he refused to take risks throwing the ball. As such, his numbers look good so he keeps getting contracts. Here are his Buffalo Stats (his only extended stint as a starter): 43 Starts/8857 Yards/51 TDs/16 INTs/62.6% If you are a QB starved team, that looks pretty good. But he was sacked 124 times. Again, low INTs and high(ish) completion percentages gets marginal QBs contracts.
  3. They already lost to a TERRIBLE Colts team. They will lose some other unexpected games. Buffalo will too.
  4. The Lions over the Pats
  5. You mean like a horse with a broken leg?
  6. Keyshawn Johnson and Skip Bayless. Skip still thinks Baker Mayfield will have a better career than Josh.
  7. Yep, he probably did stage 3 (light physical activity) in the field house before practice yesterday. Barring a setback, he should play.
  8. Joe Burrow got passed it last year and was 3 points away from winning the SB.
  9. Jazz Cigarettes is my preferred nomenclature.
  10. It looked like the man forgot how to play football. I'm sure that the Bengals made some adjustments, but it cannot account for that level of drop off. Something happened in that locker room at HT and I think that is why Tyreek Hill is in Miami.
  11. Mahomes has played in two SBs and won one. That is probably 75% of it. Also, draft night hot takes have a lot of people waiting for Allen to fail.
  12. We'll never know, because of HIPAA, but I would guess that he left AMA (against medical advice).
  13. The Dallas pass rush is nasty. Therefore they are the most fun team to watch in the NFL right now. Points will be scored.
  14. Just cut him. Cut him because you think he's had a lot of drops, NFL stats attributing the same number of drops to GD13 as to SD14 (2) be damned.
  15. The solution to an OBJ trade is to cut Gabe Davis. I read that right here on TBD so it must be true.
  16. I don't know. I enjoyed this one immensely. It's early Jim Rome Show levels of hot takery.
  17. You doom is misplaced. It's still -14 everywhere. If you want to bet a game this week, the Pats are favored by 3 at home against the lions. I would take the Lions all day in that.
  18. I would never argue that at this point that Josh Allen is "better" than Mahomes. What I was talking about was how the Chiefs got off to a slow start in 2021 and all the talking heads said that the league had "figured out Mahomes." This opinion was loudest after we beat them last year in the regular season. That hot take hasn't aged well.
  19. Now you made me go look up Jack Kemp’s stats. So much there to unpack, but his career high was 8 rushing TDs in 1963. That year he had 50 carries for 239 yards. Those must have mostly been goalline scores and 3-1 QB sneaks. Whats more interesting is that in 1964, as we all know, the Bills won the AFL championship. What I didn’t know was that the starting QB, Jack Kemp. had a completion percentage of just over 44%. He had 13 passing TDs but 26 INTs! Thise numbers get you cut now, but back then it got you into the Pro Bowl.
  20. You can’t just keep going and grabbing other teams castoff and expecting that to work. At some point they’re going to have to bite the bullet and draft a QB.
  21. Remember when the league had “figured out” Mahomes last year? How’s that looking now?
