Atlanta Falcons = A Festivus miracle........ Matty "Ice" is vasly overrated, he's nothing without that monster running game. Two playoffs games and when he has to drop back to pass he can't make things happen. I can't remember the last time I watched such an awful display of tackling, that was horrendous. Happy Festivus everyone.

Wasn't he recently an advisor for the lowly Rams? -
The only mistake Chan made as a coach was selecting Edwards as a defensive coordinator. He needed to find a guy like him on the other side of the ball, a man capable of take lesser talent and put it in position to produce. Every positive shown on offense, was negated by the ineptitude on defense. Even when the defense was forcing turnovers the sense of them breaking at the end was always latent. The offense had the confidence the defense never had and ultimately they cracked under the pressure to hold this team togheter. Gailey is an excellent gameday coach, his clock management is almost flawless, the plays are given to the QB with plenty of time on the play clock. Sans a delay of game against the Patriots (2nd game) and the lackadaisical drive against the Titans I can't really remember a time where the offense was not in command of the situation. Pre-snap penalties are way down compared with prevous coaching staffs. This is a great reflection of the coach. Playcalling is subjective, when we were winning, Chan was great because he made adjustments and could made chicken salad out of chicken ****. I will never blame injuries (unless your franchise QB, that we don't have, goes down) I blame the losing streak more on the leadership of Fitz, or lack there of, rather than the guidance of their coach. Can the playcalling get better? Sure, but it's easier to call a game without the pressure of scoring in every single drive to be alive in the score board. If I'm the new Buffalo Bills onwer to be, I take note of the very positive things Chan have in his favor and see if with a little help from the benjamins can make him a winning coach in the NFL.

I liked how Colin Brown played yesterday against Wilfork. He held his own very well for being his first NFL start, I believe he only had a bad shotgun snap. I like Rinehart better than Urbik though, I think he's a more nasty blocker, though both were very effective this year. Re-sign Bell, bring another OT if they don't like Young and this OL will get better with more continuity.

The One and Only Stevie Johnson Thread
Fixxxer replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see how he handled this the wrong way and I like Stevie and I would like him to be re-signed. Did you see G. Wilson and D. Bryd talking to him after the penalty? I would guess they weren't very happy with Steve's actions. Steve needs to keep maturing, hopefully he does it as a Bill. -
The One and Only Stevie Johnson Thread

His reputation is that he treats his players with respect and he is a straight shooter. Maybe he was a straigth shooter with those stars in Dallas and they didn't like it. The poster I quoted hinted that Gailey's reputation was not good, I say that is BS. Like the coach or not but respect the man. -

What reputation? WTF are you talking about? http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article80986.ece Get your facts straight before you spew this BS. I might be mad at Gailey for his playcalling and his handling of DC but to say the guy has a shady reputations is utter BS. -

Mike Pereira: Gruden is a “blowhard”

No Bills football for 8 months after this one? I'll be watching.

I thought we could win 8 games and I think we should have won at least that amount. I don't like Edwards and Chan could use a pair of objective eyes when it comes to gameplanning and evaluating how the offense is (not) working. I put the losing streak more on the players' shoulders though, they played uninspired football, getting beat in 1 on 1 situations and not executing the play called. I believe the leadership will come from the guys we drafted last year, Dareus, Williams and Sheppard will be the guys to build upon. Chan should not put all the responsability in Fitz's shoulders, he needs to feature his amazing RB combo and ask only so much from the QB, we should emulate the Niners and not the Patriots. Give the reigns to Edwards or hire a guy that knows the 3-4.
-
Another underappreciated unit. Sans a few shotgun snaps, it was great to see Brown taking live game reps and not miss a beat. You would have to watch film to realy evaluate the player but the fact that the line didn't struggled when two guys went out isn't something to just ignore and say the OL sucks just because. If we could add a premier LT and move Hairston to give Pears a run for his money at RT this line could be fantastic. I would like to see a more frontal running attack for when we face overpowering defenses like the Jets and Phins.

A RB won't happen so save the preemtive criticsm. Now, a WR could be a real possibility even if we are able to re-sign Steve Johnson.
-
Yes, Moats is seeing more playing time lately, it seems all he does is bullrush the opposition, last year he made life difficult to some of the OTs he faced, kind of dissapointing. I know Batten wasn't all world when he started, but how is he going to get better without continuity? My idea was that between Batten and Moats could unseat the ever struggling Sp. Johnson as a linebacker. Every offensive coach will try to take advantage of that huge mismatch.
-
I would really like to understand how Batten was good enough to play early in the year and now he can't even play a single snap on defense. I don't see how him and Moats couldn't suplant the ineffectivness that is Sp. Johnson as an OLB (he should be battling against OGs and not OTs). The times we get beat on outside runs are from misdirection and not because we can't seal the edge. Regarding the draft, if we get Hightower and Crick in the first two rounds it would be simply amazing. Thanehill will go a lot earlier than the 3rd round if Jones and RGIII don't come out.

Refs are intentionally miscalling games
Fixxxer replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you talking about the Watt's perfect form tackle/sack that got flagged? If he's fined after that there's something awfully wrong with the NFL. -
Someone will say there's zero effort in that entry.

A Few (Very Abbreviated) Thoughts About The Game
Fixxxer replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That responsability goes to the players. They were the ones wanting to be good, respected. At the first sign of trouble the leaders dissapeared. A rookie had to lead a pep talk before the second Jets game. Chan needs to find his leader on the field, he needs to find that QB that will produce what he wants to accomplish on the field. If a gameplan doesn't work and Gailey is making bad calls the QB needs to be able to communicate what might work or not. Fitz is playing like a robot right now and the team is lost without a leader. -
Does Gronk make Troup the worst Bills 2nd rounder
Fixxxer replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Your thread consists of a thread title and a rotund "I say yes". There is nothing that indicates your post has any value. There is no thought process involved in it, hence the moronic statement by me. Your post indicates that drafting Gronkowski for the Bills would have had the same effect he had in the 2011 New England football season. Different teams, different QBs, different offensive philosophies, if that doesn't reek of lazy thought process I don't know what does. You're getting cute right now. This is the first draft ever by this FO, they can't afford to draft a potential injury prone player, if you don't want to realize this fact, that is your problem. They drafted a playmaker (in their eyes) with the first round pick and they went after the NT position and DE position for the new defensive system to be installed. I agree the guy is talented but taking him was risk. I don't consider taking Troup a mistake, so your assertion is already wrong in my opinion. -
I'm mad at the coaches, I'm dissapointed at the players and I'm indifferent to ownership. My fandom is intact and if I ever felt different you won't see me posting here anymore.

Sanchez and Flacco have 1 more year
Fixxxer replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too true, it's almost imposible to think we surrendered 4 TD passes to him. The guy is very limited, I was watching the Jets today and down by 20+ points they kept feeding the ball to the RBs refusing to put the responsability on Sanchez's shoulders. Lo and behold, play action, quick slant to Holmes and the CB jumps the route, tha ball gets intercepted. The good news is that Rex said his carreer is tied to Sanchez carreer, we will see how that unfolds. -
Does Gronk make Troup the worst Bills 2nd rounder
Fixxxer replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What debate? Read the thread title and tell me that is the best you can come up with for a healthy debate. Gronkowski was not a slam dunk on draft day as you want us to believe. Drafting him in the 2nd round would have been deemed as a risk move, moreso for the first draft ever of a new regime. The Patriots have 30 picks every single draft and they took the risk with him, like the risk they took drafting Cannon and Mallett. Troup was a hard worker and one man wrecking crew at UFC. He was a self motivated player without injury concerns. Wheter you like the guy or not, on paper he was a solid draft pick. Worst Bills 2nd rounder ever? Please, how moronic is that......
