Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich
Fixxxer replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As was Marrone and a lot of players/coaches before him. Being respected and having no ego, there are so many people that fit in this criteria, that it would take a day or to fill up a list. As Kelly the Dog asked a few pages behind, what are the systems he implemented, was he doing the gameplans or was a yes man to McCoy. Before joining the Bills Marrone had 21 years of coaching experience, Hackett 10 years. Up to that point (2013) Frank had 5 year of total coaching experience Irrelevant to his coaching experience or credentials to do good job as HC. Indeed, go Frank, moreso if we make him our coach, which I will support but with so many doubts. -
Head Coach Candidate: Frank Reich
Fixxxer replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Up to his Pittsburgh hiring, he had 12 year of coaching experience, 7 years in the NFL and 5 at the College level. Some might say it's not much of difference, but that is 5 more years than Reich. -
Marrone was upset at the Buffalo Media

And this is the media telling us? -

Sorry, but you didn't. Frank is beloved for the comeback but he has only 7 years of coaching experience in the NFL, no matter how good a man or organizer he is, players would not feel secure if he is hired to lead them. -

I don't see enough credentials for him to be the HC of this team at current time. I don't think he is what the team needs right now, but if Polian is involved in the interviewing and hiring process, we know the kind of coaches he likes, would Reich fit the profile? -
Doug Marrone opts out of contract
Fixxxer replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is what I fear about this, re-signing players will be tough now that it was an hour ago, though, Doug Marrone is also responsible for his departure. -

I hope you're right Deano. -

Will it be easy to lure a good HC with no 1st round pick and unproven QBs on the roster? A defensive minded coach would be all over the team but it will be very hard sell. -

Rumor: Polian could return as soon as Monday
Fixxxer replied to Bangarang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Were we really that bad this year in that department? Does anyone know where to find those statistics? -
you're right, I should have meant overall as a coach.

Other than nostalgia, do you believe his coaching experience merits an HC job? Hacket does have more than him in the pros. As coach: Indianapolis Colts (2008) (Offensive Coaching Staff Assistant) Indianapolis Colts (2009–2010) (Quarterbacks Coach) Indianapolis Colts (2011) (Wide Receivers Coach) Arizona Cardinals (2012) (Wide Receivers Coach) San Diego Chargers (2013) (Quarterbacks Coach) San Diego Chargers (2014–present) (Offensive Coordinator)

Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia 8m8 minutes ago Frank Reich, if Doug Marrone opts out. RT @JasonLaCanfora: @BobGlauber He'll be THE candidate. Job will be his Joe B, reliable piece of information or just guessing?

What about a trade for Matt Schuab
Fixxxer replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me too, but I wouldn't mind having another vet to help him or another young QB out or step on the field and not be a total liability (see Brohm, Thigpen, Arm strenght Palmer, Matt Leinhart, Vince Young, etc) The asking price should not be high for this to happen. -
I like him and i think his play calling style will mesh well with Marrone's. I really like how they ran out of their big formations.

What low move? What if the new owner was a douche or Bon Jovi (another level of douche, not in the dictionary)? This tells me he is a smart business man or hired someone smart to run his career.

Raiders interested in Russ Brandon

Good for him, he's very good at his job. -
Yeah, lets give zero credit to the DL hustling back into the play and from out of nowhere make a clutch play to stay in the game. It was the first game of the year. Everyone had this one as a big loss entering the year, we never won at Soldier field and all that ****, we obviously can't overcame the Trestman offense. Finally, we made the plays at the end to win the game. Nevermind that the new QB we trotted out there gave them a pick 6 and Carpenter missed a FG for us, they gave us 9 points but we gave them 10, we made the plays at the end to win the game. We cough up the ball four times on four fumbles, losing three and Orton throws an ugly pick, at the end we make enough plays to win the game. Yeah, what a weak minded team, that made the plays at the end to win the game. So the interceptions we get are not good enough, we made some good plays against a future HOF QB. We made more plays than them. I'll give you this one, because we would not know what would have happened had the Pats needed this one, but still Brady look pissed he couldn't do much because our defense didn't let him. I love that when we had guys injured all the time in the past, it was the trainers fault, I heard no peep about giving Marrone credit for this one. Maybe it's luck, maybe it isn't, we will see next year.

From that list I would take, Mallet and Austin Davis. I would see what the asking price are for Foles, Cousins and/or Nassib. Is there a hot QB in the CFL these days?
-
I know I wouldn't. With a new regime I wanted to do what shanahan did with the redskins, bring two QB projects, Duke Williams won't make or break your team a good QB might.

Current situation makes little sense. Where is this going?
Fixxxer replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's going into year three with, a winning record, a great defense and with some must re-tooling to do on offense. -
I say we were prepared for that game. We forced a 3 and out and scored on the first drive, then they had another chance and went 3 and out, you could see in Carr's face that he would not be able to do much, then when we were driving for another score we throw a pick and let them into to the game, if we score there they run for the bus. After that pick Dareus gets hurt and they find a way into the game by running the ball, this deflated the defense and took a while for it to adjust to Dareus absence. Momentum was a B word in that game.

They should have drafted him in that same draft with the 4th pick that we used on Duke Williams. It was the first draft of this new coaching staff and I don't think people would have objected to it. The Giants took him a couple of spots later, so a 5th won't do it for the Giants and I really don't see a 4th in this draft being that attractive to them. When it comes to QBs you have to overpay a little, no matter if the guy is unproven.
