I think that was more media driven than an actual preference by Roman or another coach. Cassel is an awful starting QB.

Good observation, I can see that being the case. I hope we don't end up giving Ryan full control.

I want the team to get better defensively and I want them to win out. Rex will be here for the next 3 years so winning is be best case scenario.

If we fire Whaley, Atlanta, Miami and the Browns will be all over him.

Don't get me wrong I like Lawson and I agree he's a smart player but we as a fanbase can't be happy when 3 young and productive players all of a sudden start looking bad on a football field. Did Ryan even look at some of the ways Pettine and Schwartz utilized Robey as a blitzer? I can't remember a time this year in which Robey got to the QB or even attempted to go after him.

At least this defensive system rescued Manny Lawson from oblivion or irrelevance.

It's a shame that guys that shined last year on Schwartz's defense can look so out of place or just plain below average under another coach. Robey, Bradham and Brown are victims of the new defensive system, I will really hate if Whaley is told this next off-season to look for their replacements.

He was superb last year and was lethal when blitzing, Ryan should have been humble enough to watch more of what Schwartz did with him and the defense overall. We were very lucky last year regarding injuries.

I can react like that because I'm a fan, but coaches look bad when they do it, they just need to be better at their jobs. They need to put the energy to get the players in position to make positive plays, on defense they have failed in that regard.

and the repeated offenders are the best players on the team. Hughes and Dareus, someone needs to sit down with them and try to help them, those pre-snap penalties are inexcusable.

I think he has progressed since his first game. Maybe he can further his development and get better and more comfortable in Roman's system. If they really like EJ keep him, if not target a new QB and bring him in. Will he be a franchise QB? Time will tell, in the meantime he can help your team win games.

I didn't feel Kelly outcoached Ryan. We shot ourselves in the foot many times today. I thought the defensive gameplan was good enough to slow them down. The long TD on 2nd and forever was the fault of Graham and Graham alone, probably his only big error of the game. On offense, I felt we should have tried a more frontal running attack, they were fast and disciplined defending Shady. TT wans't great today but good enough to get win. OL was shaky in pass pro. Tighpen fumble. Defensive breakdown on the long TD Pre-snap penalties moving the Eagles closer to the 1st down marker.

They will keep both so......

a) Darby is awesome, when he reads the play his reaction time is unreal b) McKelvin is one of those players that can drive you crazy, he gets trucked by a TE because he goes for the ball before securing the tackle, he overruns a WR and lets him get the 1st down. He then makes an amazing interception and breaks down a pass on 3rd down. You don't know which McKelvin will step up on the next play. c) Urbik should have started today, i understand not losing your job because of injury but Urbik is playing at a level Miller hadn't show all year. He's the future but today he struggled mightily d) Probably the worst game by Incognito this year, it's amazing the level of talent these guys go up against week after week. e) Refs suck in general. The NFL needs to do something about it. f) season is over unfortunately.

Even though I preferred to keep Schwartz and the defense intact, I didn't think the defense could take so many steps backwards. With this offense we would have made the playoffs last year.

I always root for boobie(s).....
