For those of you who are sure that they guys we lost are so ****ty that it amounts to "addition by subtraction", how bad does that make the back-ups who are now going to be handed starting roles? Sure FA isn't over yet, and sure we can get some help in the draft. But counting on anyone other than maybe a first and 2nd rounder to step in right away and start is a stretch. That means we need maybe 3 -4 more quality FAs? Plenty of time, but at some point that won't continue to be the case.

That will have been 2 years ago by the time they start playing. Fred's 32 now. Old backs have two consecutive season-ending injuries. If he gets a heavy load this year it will probably be 3. He's a great guy, teammate, and player, but he's finished as a starter.

The fact of the matter is that the play of the NFL has, in fact gotten worse under the new CBA. Guys are better athletes in the NFL, but their technique is mostly pure ****. This goes from O-line footwork, to Defensive tackling. I'm sure its completely unrelated to the limitations on practice time...

How many games has CJ missed due to injury in the last two years? And how many has Fred missed? I have no problem in splitting time. But 50/50 should be the extreme upper limit on fred's touches. You're not going to convince me that CJ going from 11 touches per game to 15 touches per game is going to ruin him.

A Round 2 QB is not a franchise guy...Go back over the past 10 years and see what Quarterbacks were drafted outside the first round. It's hard to land a good QB in the draft, but almost impossible to find one outside the first round.

Cleveland Jacksonville Kansas City Will all definitely draft a QB if a "franchise" type guy is there. Gabbert is clearly not good enough, and Weedon is going to be 30.

If you're serious about drafting a QB it has to be in the first round...Obviously there are no hard and fast rules, but as hard as it is to find a starting QB its that much harder to find one outside the 1st round.
